Family Guy started out as a parody of clasic sitcoms about a dumb but loveable screw up dad who always tries to do the right thing in the end. Now that It's been on the air twenty years, classic sitcoms are more like Married With Children and Seinfeld, where none of the characters were particularly well meaning and meant to do the right thing, and modern Family Guy just takes this to the nth level by making every single character a violent sociopath.
