Your Halloween tally

Spooky shit you saw in October.

>Starry Eyes
Not my bag, never like giallo shit. Boring af.

>The Wailing
Not horror really, more like mystery/drama. I only liked the ritual scene. Overall great cinematography though.

>A Dark Song
Best movie since The Witch, even with the weak ending. I think the occult is the most interesting thing to be explored in horror right now.

>The Void
I liked it visually but the story is all over the place. Appreciated the practical effects.

>The Monster
More depressing than scary. Didn't care about the symbolism. Good performance by the child actor.

>The Blackcoat's Daughter
Overrated. Almost nothing happens and it tries to trick us with loud ominous music, which is a thinly veiled jump scare. Got attention mostly thanks to "muh waifus".

>Get Out
Does it even qualify as horror? Too political. Main actor is annoying in everything he's been.

>The Gracefield Incident
Complete shit, stay far away.

also rewatched the exorcist on some streaming channel I found here but randomly popping ads kinda ruined it.

> Honeymoon (Spanish subs)

Movie about some guy that abducts a woman he's obsessed with and tries to mentally condition her into being his wife. Really graphic in parts, but good tension and atmosphere. It's available on Netflix.

> Hostel

Torture porn, it's the 2nd time I've seen it and I think I appreciated the campiness of it a bit more this time. Worth a watch if you're into gory horror, fun with friends.

> Green Room

Really great film, I don't want to call it horror cause it doesn't necessarily have any horror sequences, it's an absolutely thrilling and intense ride though. Very graphic at times.

> Most Likely To Die

Generic slasher movie, it's ok, just brainless who-dun-it slasher.

laughably bad taste.

I either insulted your waifu or you're one of those faggots who liked the wailing.

>It Comes at Night
Watchable

>The Conjuring
Shit

>The Thing (1982)
Ok

>The Mist
Shit

>Cloverfield
Not bad, relatively

All around a shit genre

I really liked a dark song. I think the end was great ( with the angel ) but the parts leading up to it I think could have been cut. I know they were trying to skyrocket the intensity to lead it to more of a satisfying horror ending, but it was just their to give her a last bit of struggle and I think they could have stuck with and got a bit more creative with the breaking the seals stuff. I just think it would have fit better to have the last struggle being more triumphant than horror stuff.

>A Dark Song
>weak ending
atheist detected

>praises A Dark Song
>shits on Starry Eyes and The Blackcoat's Daughter

That's some bad taste, bud. A Dark Song has its moments but it completely falls apart in the third act, and the PS3 angel at the end was hilarious. At least Starry Eyes and The Blackcoat's Daughter don't allow their low budgets to be plainly displayed onscreen.

Not sure why you think Starry Eyes was meant to be a giallo homage, either.

>weak ending
it was by far the best part

I like how A Dark Song ended. Also, Gerald's Game.

I liked that the ritual was succesful, I guess I just wanted to see something more spectacular. The entrance of the angel felt kinda anticlimactic and the favour she asked was lame really. I also would like to see more demons and maybe Mr Solomon to survive.

Blackcoat's Daughter lacked content. It's a whole lot of nothing hidden behind a spooky soundtrack. I liked its aesthetic but it needed more than blankly staring stacies.

Starry Eyes is commonly compared to Argento's works. Isn't that what he was all about? Female protagonist, sexual undertones, overstylizing etc? Haven't seen any of his movies desu.

>Okay, turn around, bend over

Stylized horror films with sexual undertones starring a pretty girl are hardly limited to giallos. Certainly, you can find plenty of Italian horror movies like that, but it was a fairly common set of themes in 70s and 80s horror. If you haven't checked out Argento's work, try Suspiria, Phenomena (primo Jennifer Connelly), Inferno, Tenebre, or Deep Red.

The Blackcoat's Daughter is definitely a slow burn horror movie more interested in building atmosphere than providing scares. I guess if that's not your cup of tea, then that's fine. I really liked it.

Is Jeepers Creepers 3 worth a watch?
Torrent's on now

>Fearless Vampire Killers
Sharon Tate was a beauty.

>Suspiria
Freiburg looks cool.

>The Wicker Man
Edward Woodward was the shit.

>Videodrome

crazy shit, highly recommend, ahead of its time

Meg Foster’s old face was scarier than the creeper, which is unfortunate because she was weirdly hot when younger

It's very shitty, but if you already watched the other two...why not?

It's totally my cup of tea, that's why I loved a dark song. I just don't think that the blackcoat's daughter built an actual atmosphere, it was mostly scary music over mundane dialog and the payoff was minimal.

>Slasher season 1 and 2
Terrible, nothing about either season merits a watch, heavy political undertones, obnoxious characters
>IT remake
not a horror, pure comedy, the only thing that reminds you this was meant to be a horror film is the jew child's greatest fear which was a warped painting of a woman come to life.
>Friday 13th remake
very generic slasher flick
>The 3 Conjuring films
The first film is really good, the second one is slightly worse, and the Annabelle film was a bit better than the second film, but worse than the first.
>Paranormal activities
Not horror, the film was boring throughout the entirety of the film. Possibly the worst found footage film I've ever seen.
>The Boy
it was alright, I hadn't expected the ending, wouldn't call it horror though more of a thriller/drama vibe to it.
>Split
pretty good film, not horror though, more of a thriller
>The Descent
pretty average film, seemed more like an action thriller film than a horror film though

>very generic slasher flick
those tits tho

Anybody else get peeved by the whole anti horror/ me too good for horror me like psychological thriller vibe? I can’t be the only one. True there’s schlocky shit out there but there’s some great gritty dark horror movies. I feel elitism and hipster fucks complaining about the genre is one of the most annoying things. Someone back me up? Anybody? Also, general schlock hate? Worst one is pernicious or harbinger down

This is the face of the man who makes straight to Netflix slasher films I guarantee it

>the favour she ask lame
>actual rise over her ego and become better human
choose

>goes through an undescribable ordeal
>can ask for literaly anything
>asks for something you can get at your local psychologist

lame

no baby, you can adjust to your cruel reality tru the shrink but real felt forgiveness is only a thing that almost a martyr can do.

forgiveness is overrated

that it's what we corrups think and that is too why that movie is so amazing.

you havent seen "beyond the gates"? (2016) . holy shit man. best horror ive seen in a while

>Videodrome
A+

>Neon Demon
Genuinely impressed, will re watch.

>The Vvitch
Nice spooky vibe and acting, if a little boring.

>The Blob (1988)
Schlock done right, characters either likable or satisfying to watch die, tape edited effects could use a remaster desu

>Inferno
Beautiful, as I expect from Argento, fumbled the end with a shitty looking ghoul, but I forgive it for the sweet Keith Emerson score.

>It Follows
meh, not horrible

>Nosferatu the Vapyre
My first Herzog desu, shows promise, but I probably won't re watch this one.

>The Fog
Honestly disappointed because I love John Carpenter.

Also re watched because I love them:
>The Thing
>Suspiria
>Profondo Rosso
>Rosemary's Baby
>Lost Highway

She changed her wish because Solomon was already dead and in hell with the rest of the damned. It was he that killed her son.

>beyond the gates
The premise was much better than the film itself. Everything about it was average at best, except for Barbara Crampton, whose small role is the best thing about the movie. Yeah, it was low budget, but that's no excuse for bad acting and a lack of style.

you don't know that and neither did she

It's why they cut to a flashforward of her burying him at the same time she was asking for forgiveness. It's the reason she was looking for him as an occultist after talking to others. It's why she spent the whole movie lying to him, putting the ritual in jeopardy. It's why he admitted it was her guardian angel when he got hurt.

>Halloween
Masterpiece classic

>saw 2
Second best in the series

>Saw 3

3rd best in the series

>Saw 4
Lmao kill me (fun but Jesus Christ dat editing)

>Saw 5
Slightly better than 4 but still kek

>Jigsaw
My 4th favorite honestly. Directing and editing was cleaned up and a lot of the traps felt back to basics. Also Jon reveal scene made me cum (as a fan). Making it a prologue and and epilogue at the same time kept to the crazy convoluted horseshit I've come to love about the series.

>babysitter
Twas fun but a little cringy

>Dracula (1931)
Still a classic and love it to death

>twas
that's the real cringe
