Stranger things 3

Let's discuss what will happen in season 3.
Best theories win.
You'll receive a beautiful nothing for best logical theory.

Kali will return and join the team to battle the bad thing, using her mind powers on the bad thing to allow Hopper and Steve to escape the Upside Down.

The plan will be made around the Byers dinner table.

Bonus Round: Jonathon won't go to college, will stick around for Nancy and will die, so Nancy will cry in Steve's arms. His dad will sort of return, to give Hopper a challenge for Joyce (but that's no challenge).

A 1980s Donald Trump, played by Owen Wilson, is out to buy up all the land to turn it into a casino complex. When the townspeople refuse to leave their land, Drumpf sends his lackeys to persuade them to leave (or ELSE). Also Steve will be castrated by accident, helping him realize his life's purpose is to help fund and support Jonathan's offspring.

Me again

Mr Clarke will figure out something is up with Eleven, and the Swedish backstory. Puts him in danger.

That would be cool, actually. I want to see more of Mr Clarke.

>cross on a thong
that's pretty disrespectful t b h

Steve will die saving Dustin

It's a T for trans.

I lol'd
I don't think the japs care about the cross

I'm cool with getting to hang out with these characters for another season or two, but I really don't know where they could go from here, without making it all feel really redundant. Most of the cast got some form of closure or another, the gate was closed, sealing off the Mind Flayer, and the DoE lab was shut down.

How about this: Mr Clarke and Mad About Science guy team up to save the kids

The show will always be kids beat foreign monsters and everything goes back to normal.

But the monsters just seem dumb. They're obviously intelligent

I thought that was going to happen multiple times myself already.

Yep, they'll probably autistically try to mimic the exact same moments in a new form, like Winona Ryder will make a mess of her house using mundane objects to decode a supernatural message from her son, or they'll have to hastily construct a special containment chamber to control one of the kids' spectral powers

They brought the house destruction up in BST and I'm p sure they won't do that again.. also maybe they won't beat Steve's face in again.

hopefully everything won't fucking revolve around will again.

Deputy Steve
Billy murders somebody
Brenner returns and gate opens again

Thank God I'm not the only one that really hates will.

this

I like the idea of Billy becoming the new, willing host of the mindflayer

>Redditor Things

The Duffers said they probably won't target Will with some big bad shit again. Will and El are irl BFFs and want to be in scenes together and actually interact on the show so I'm sure they'll accommodate the kids.
I think next season they'll have a big bad but nothing happen to the kids so they all get to fight it.
I'm not a fan either but S1 is still there if you want to see less of him.

Mr Clarke is a soviet spy.

The showrunners will realize the vast potential they have with both the premise and young actors they have at their disposal. The next season will begin seeding the concept of a mass opening of the gate while maintaining the comfy feel of the previous seasons. Season 4 will end with the opening of the gate, leading to the beginning of a Berserk-style transition in the she's universe in which the creatures from the Upside Down begin overrunning the planet. The following seasons will be a mixture of low-fantasy, 80s aesthetics, and post-apocalyptic tropes during which the main cast will grow into young adulthood as warriors attempting to survive in this new, Stygian world. Also Steve will continue to be fucking rad.

With an east asian gf?
Doesn't make sense, if he was a spy he'd have a hot slav wife and some kids to fool the government into thinking he's just another burger.

...

This is what would happen if TV producers knew good TV

I'll just continue to dream

I never liked will. He was a poorly developed character in st1 having not enough screen time for you to get to know him as a character before he disappears. The whole season I thought to myself, "why the fuck do I care about this goofy little kid? I know nothing about him" luckily ST2 developed all the characters alot more. But will being the victim all the time needs to end. New plot points need to happen.

Billy fucks Steve and Mike's mom, gives them both GRIDS.

Mike and Eleven have a comfy season where they finally get to hang out with each other and act like an old married couple

before 11 dies in the season after

Will they finally let him in on what's going on?

Steve and Dustin chemistry was surprisingly one of the best parts of the entire season, hope they do more of it next season. Max was an ok character, albeit kind of forced and shoehorned in, but the lame romance shit between her and Lucas felt even more forced.

It should happen way later in the season of maybe S4, the kids are scared that Mr. Clarke will end up like Bob so they won't let him in anytime soon.
I mean Bob started the AV club at their school so they'll put two and two together and keep it a secret from him. I just like him as a cool teacher and they'll eventually go to high school.

Papa returns and uses a new strange child whose abilities overpower all previous children, new child learns empathy from 11 and 8, realizes it mistakes and kills itself with Papa.

This doesn't fit with the point of the show to me. It always seemed to me that it was just meant to capture a strange story from the near past that no one would know. If it becomes a world ending story then it isn't the same.

They've already visibly aged, especially Mike. I don't see how they can keep this on very long without having a new cast. The whole selling point of the show was "kids mischief leads them to get in over their heads in spooky government alien shit". And now we have the redhead stepchild and her mega-chad brother in the mix.

Agreed.
I liked the steve/Dustin
11/hopper
And strangely after he got some development later in the season I became a fan of wills mother/samwise xD
I loved the idea for the mind flayer for sure. That's a much better antagonist.
I think the third season will start by the mind flayer ruining the snow ball as it is after all shown above the school in the upside down with an arm/whatever reaching down to the school.

This is actually a cool idea. Some kind of demon-possessed Chad looking to fuck everyone up.

I want Mike to do something pretty fucking useful and heroic but then got fucked in some bad situation and Eleven get all sad and shit then she needs to save him in some way, but no deaths.

I want for S3 to be the last one because they will be like 15 already i guess and a fourth one will be weird with all these 16-17yo. I hope for 13 eps with one hour each one.

>tfw Steve trains to be a cop under Hopper

I really like these two ideas.

Hope they just do a rendition of season 1 again. It'll be so cash.

That's a great idea.
Tagging myself as OP now so people know who's the OP(obviously)

No one actually cares which ideas you like

they’ve got the green light to go up to season 4

Very good point. That's just my musing about how they could continue it for several years while retaining quality. They can't keep running into the same shit until they're in their twenties.

haha dank pickle meme

>I think the third season will start by the mind flayer ruining the snow ball as it is after all shown above the school in the upside down with an arm/whatever reaching down to the school.
how? it can only affect will, and even then that’s only when he’s having one of his true vision episodes

Will Kali be able to use her powers on the bad thing directly? I can't imagine that thing being something she can mind trick, but if he had another infected human spy she could trick him.

Ted Wheeler is the big bad.

fuck

>Berserk style transition
BIG
FEMTO
COCK

Billy's going to fuck Mike's lonely alcoholic mom.
Nancy is going to continue not knowing who to fuck really.
Jonathan is going to keep being her bitch.
Mike sucks. Nothing else. Emo Mike will probably make a come back somehow after 11 disappears again because, you know, shady 80s chicks .
Im going to assume that the mind flayer is going to Shadow possess another main character.
Mr red ranger would have been a very good member of the party if they would just explain shit to him and prove it and not just keep acting like he's a prick for no reason. Them treating him that way pushes him more towards the likelihood of joining the mind flayer willingly.

Alot of questions
Let's see if the duffer Bros rehash the first two seasons or get alot more creative and make the thrid season the best and most original.

This guy gets it.

This pretty much, I'm black and even this was my reaction from the max/lucas thing, 80's come on seriously, 90's sure maybe......but the 80's RARE
A
R
E

Mike definitely needs a chance to prove he's the main character. His best trait is his bravery

It may be a lil fucked up but I kinda hope will actually dies. I just find him helpless and annoying overall.

Mike's dad's going to join the party because he believes in merica'
Im going to get to baked and miss a few plot points and will have to rewatch it 50 times.
Although, Mike's mom is quite the milf. I would take advantage if I were Mr 80s douche face.

The mind flayer is going to ruin the fuckin snow ball. Poor Lil virgins :'(

>Cold War goes hot in the aftermath of the Able Archer 83 exercises
>show switches between the kids + nancy + every other character that’s not a male of fighting age on the home front, dealing with the literal and metaphorical fallout of WW3 on their lives, and steve + billy + hopper + jonathan at the front in europe
>because it’s WW3, gubment experiments go into overdrive, causing more terrifying shit in hawkins

Steve gets a hotter girl than Nancy

Nigga Fishmouth fucking dies

Evil shit targets Mike and Hopper this time, the things El cherishes most.

Turns out Will somehow ended up with superpowers from all the evil shit that happened with him

Will and Kali get in a superpower fight, Kali fucking dies and El understands

motherfucking D'artagnan comes back, fully evolved, helps Will and El in final fight against evil

Dustin keeps D'artagnan in the end

oh and inevitable Joyce and Hopper end up together

One way they could have sewn that in better is if they had Billy hate lucas for being black rather than never explicitly stating why she shouldnt hang out with him

The Darte is dead. Bury it.

>Evil shit targets Mike and Hopper this time, the things El cherishes most.
FUCK that is such a good way to get back at El after she shut the gate on the Mind Flayer's face.

Maybe next season they'll do something with Max and her brother besides have them just exist. Seriously why the fuck did they even add those characters? Theh had 0 impact and the entire story wouldn't change if they didn't exist.

>if they had Billy hate lucas for being black
>what is show, don’t tell
you would be a piss poor writer, user. the way they did it was very good imo

Definitely needs a bit more focus on the cold war.
I liked how they used the election to show where certain characters stand politically through yard sign use.
Such a minute detail. Shows full of shit like that.

without them, the boys would never have a car on hand to get to the hub so they could burn it

It's definitely implied that's probably the reason given the time frame.
80s weren't known as a very racist decade but it was definitely very prevalent still and Billy suits the racist asshole spot very well since he's the human antagonist now.

damn, i never bothered to pay attention to whose yards the signs were on. which ones were they on, if you don’t mind telling?

I think they were just setting those characters up for big roles in s3 like they did with the underdeveloped characters in s1.

>80s weren't known as a very racist decade
that’s only the case if your definition of racism is lynchings and people being like “fuck those dangerous apelike niggers, they have to stay at the back of the bus”

True, but that's a really dumb reason to have them. They need to fucking do something with Max besides exist. And her brother is a royal cunt who did nothing except add tension that wasn't even resolved. It's just shit writing all around those 2, even though Max as a character is well written.

i did like how part of owens’ justification for keeping everything under wraps was that if the soviets found out, they would assume it’s a weapon or at least some kind of advantage, and then they would try to make their own

Well Mike's dad obviously had a Reagan sign, I can't remember who it was currently but there is actually alot of political set up in the first two seasons that hasn't been explored much yet so I assume s3 will be bigger and the reds will probably attempt their own experiments after learning about the gate so they could 1-up good ole merica' by attempting to actually control the beasts, but they will fail. Would give a good chance for a secondary cast on the Russian front. Wouldn't mind a longer season split between the major factions with proper character development.

Agreed. It waa actually a really fucking good point. He was just an amazing character all around. He was of ambiguous morality the whole time while seemingly incredibly human.

Stranger Things RUS when

Im saying compared to all previous decades in history, racism really started taming out in the 80s

true

The reds would've already known about MK Ultra and had their own kids with superpowers.
I don't think they'll go super into the political stuff, shadow government stuff is alright but the Nether stuff overshadows anything political in this show.

Especially with the Advent of hip hop becoming more mainstream.

>but the Nether stuff overshadows anything political in this show.
as it should. but an even slightly more political angle could be cool

But I think the constant focus on just this tiny nowhere town is getting old. This would be a massive event irl and probably a global warming between humans and the upside down.

black user again, to be honest that whole thing, while yes is factual of the time period more apparent than now. Feels like would only push an added bonus to the already blacked agenda they were doing this season, whether subtly or not.

Idk mate, the Duffers really didn't live through enough of the 80s to capture the political climate so they'll probably stray away from anything big.
Even as big as the Mind Flayer was it was never really bigger than Hawkins, it didn't even find or follow El once she started leaving the cabin in the woods.

Post Mike's mom in the tub pls

>First shot of season 3 is Kali getting fucking killed
>Billy redemption arc ending on his sacrifice to save Max.
>Fucking finally everyone is back together again
>El learns that the thoughts of her love for Mike and Hopper are stronger than the ones of hate and revenge

I assume they'll have a deer dinner.
I just cooked a teriyaki deer steak. Well done and still perfectly tender. Fuck it was good haha.

The rules aren't established so it could go either way.

I like the idea of a russian enemy, hopefully they get Dolph Lundgren

I need this split-screened with Billy in the shower

But let's remember the duffer brothers aren't the only writers on the show and the main producer of the show is definitely old enough to have seen the political climate first hand. Surely they've got enough older people in the show to help writing political 80s shit.

I only like Billy and Max because the show definitely needed a skater from Cali and an asshole to.
Being from Cali I appreciated it not just basically being rednecks and country folk anymore.

Shawn Levy would skew it hard toward the liberal side and /tp/ would get triggered, I just don't see a point to inject more political stuff and alienate their audience when kids are still the main cast.
The writers are mostly thirty-somethings or younger. I doubt the Duffers would plan out the season well enough for it to work anyway, they're lazy as fuck and are always slow to finish either writing or shooting the show so far.

>Being from Cali I appreciated it not just basically being rednecks and country folk anymore.
Weird, I grew up in SoCal in the 80s/90s and would like more rural stuff from Cali to be represented instead of pedowood and beach shit.

Good points.
They just made the second season alot bigger and more dire so it only makes sense they make s3 even bigger. Only way to go is up considering the shows popularity.

Oddly enough, I lived mostly in Crestline up in the mountains from San Bernardino

But now I live in the country in MO so maybe im pissy because I don't fit in with all these rednecks. Besides beer. We share that love haha.
