And PJW and The Young Turks

>Paul Joeseph Watson
>Young Turks

>Chris Ray Gun
>Shoe on head
>Milo
>It's NOT super pro-SJW

This is going to be a hot topic this week

>a Top Cow comic is going to be a hot topic this week
oh it is to laugh

Chris/Shoe/Milo will not doubt mention it in some way, combined that's pretty respectable publicity.

I sincerely doubt it

Why?

Is that shoe? It doesn't look much like her compared to the others. I feel like it should be someone else. How much notoriety does she even have compared to the others?

>The Young Turks

A R M E N I A N G E N O C I D E

She's got 600k subs which is only about 100k less than Paul Watson and 3x as many as Chris Ray, so she's pretty much in their area of popularity

I don't know much about Chris and Shoe, but I doubt Milo cares about comics much at all, much less a self-published literally who comic

what book is this?

Well as someone who actually follows Milo I know he will mention it.
He's had conservative comic creators come on his podcast.

all two of them?

>Constantly talking about furry comics because they buy ad-space
>Had Chuck Dixon on for an episode

Oh he'll bring it up.

well I guess that shows what I know

but still

self-published literally who

It's a published (self or not) comic with MILO on it.
Do you know how hard he gets off this sorta shit?

Hmm. I still don't think it looks anything like her. The hair is different, her skin is brown when shoe is as white as the driven snow, and if I was going to parody shoe I'd probably do more with the eyeliner. All she's really got going for her is girl in front of her computer in her bedroom and there have to be 1000 other girls that do that. Although I guess they did make Cenk Obama so maybe I'm just being to critical.

So what DOES the chick they're talking about look like, anyways?

None of them are all that accurate, Paul looks nothing like the guy in that comic

HAHAAH! COMICS!

If Berkeley hadn't happened I might agree with you but Milo's swimming in celebrity right now at a national level. He might be getting too big for this.

>I'm [Bleep]ing Better Than You!

youtube.com/watch?v=zhwpvzc8pAE

Subtle

BEHOLD

He's high off his own farts. "People protest against what I have to say because they're scared of how funny and convincing I am" is his position right now.

That's goddamn modest. When they say "half-naked" I expect SOME form of nudity.

so like any other day, then

Paul has the stubble and the hair. Anita's face is all fucked up but the flannel makes it obvious. Anna looks okay but mainly it's the set that sells the Turks. I don't know Chris guy. so I can't really comment but for all the others Shoe is least shoeish. The others are kind of "If I squint i can see the resemblence" Shoe is a different person entirely. I'd be more inclined to believe it was Lacey Green or someone than shoe.

>Looks closer to Laci Green than Shoe
Literally blind.

Well he's not wrong. Milo is undeniably up his own ass and unquestionably narcissistic but all the protesters do is drive more people to listen to him and he's nothing if not entertaining.

Milo is a narcissist and a faggot but he's a narcissistic faggot with a point. The fact that people keep trying to shut him up with protests and violence shows he at least serves some purpose.

I thought this was Marvel for a second

>He's high off his own farts. "People protest against what I have to say because they're scared of how funny and convincing I am" is his position right now.
Wow tumblr really is a presence here. Just kidding. But seriously. No matter what you think of Milo (and I happen to think he's right about quite a few things, or at least errs on the right side of things) you cannot deny that Milo isn't just protested against. The issue is that protestor do not target his opinions but rather his right to speak them. For example if the goal of protestors at a Milo event was to debate and confront his supporters with opposing views fine with me that's good in a healthy democratic society. However the goals of Milo's detractors is to do just the opposite by no-platforming him, assaulting his attendees, threatening and harassing people at events, and straight up heckling and disrupting his talks. I don't see how anyone could pretend that his position is anything other than that of sheer terror at the fact that the left is willing to use political violence to shut down opponents. If this keeps don't think for a second that the right won't follow suit, and quite frankly they're actually good at it. If this keeps up "working for the clampdown" will become a viable occupation.

meant for

>The issue is that protestor do not target his opinions but rather his right to speak them.
That feels like a weird distinction since it's pretty clear they hate him BECAUSE of his opinions.

>Milo is a narcissist and a faggot but he's a narcissistic faggot with a point.
"i spout radical alt right bullshit but ALSO i'm gay so that validates them somehow"

His opponents aren't exactly doing themselves any favours with their tactics right now.

What made them think "fight like nazis" is a good way to "fight nazis"?

Is that chris raygun? what an obscure reference there

I want to FUCK comic Anita

Because liberal "respect everyone's opinion" is literally how the Nazis gained momentum in the first place?

Many of them don't really seem to know his opinions though. They mostly hate him by reputation. I hear a lot of people call him a Nazi when the guy is ethnically Jewish and avowedly pro-Israel. They call him a racist when he says on just about any occasion that he feels racism is pointless, wrongheaded and doesn't address real issues. I guess you can bash him on talking shit about feminism but he's said that he agrees with second wave but he thinks that the third wave is misguided and ignorant, so he does make a distinction. People hate Milo for what they think he believes and then use violence to prevent him from telling people what he actually believes.

>What made them think "fight like nazis" is a good way to "fight nazis"?
So fighting at all is "fighting like Nazis"?

This, I didn't think he was that well-known.

Using violence against nonviolent speakers is yes.

That was more about the European nations not wanting another war since the blood from WWI was still relatively fresh.

Absolutely problematic

Holy shit, they fucking said it.

I mean "brownshirt" bullshit. Which is what Antifa's doing.

HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCK YOU. Your lot didn't do that. You no platformed every single person that didn't agree with you, and that greatly increased resentment towards you. That's what got us this mess.

>I'm better than you.

Love that jab. Who's the blonde in the glasses suppose to be?

Chris Ray Gun. They got his hair color completely wrong, he's not blond at all.

Chris Ray gun, the chap next to the pornstar.

>Because liberal "respect everyone's opinion" is literally how the Nazis gained momentum in the first place?
What kind of bullshit history are they fucking teaching in school now?

The Nazi's gained momentum and sympathy because the Weimar government kept trying to stamp them out violently while totally bungling their economy so they just had more and more pissed off unemployed people in the middle of the Great Depression.

It's not explicitly anti-SJW either though, it's just an all-around spoof of various internet talking heads.

Either way, it got my attention. Is Fathom worth reading? Certainly looks to be easy on the eyes. Also, what else does Top Cow have that's worth checking out? Doesn't have to be amazing, just looking for an easy, pleasant, fun read.

>the Weimar government kept trying to stamp them out violently

Close, but it was mostly opposing grassroots-level leftists who were using violence. Hitler's success came from the fact that the Weimar government didn't directly stamp them out. Had they tried to dismantle the SA early on, Hitler would have been in a much tougher spot.

Holy shit, is that Chris Ray Gun?

youtube.com/watch?v=TdpRmrvim_E

OH BOY, GET THE B L E A C H

I think I know what the user is trying to say, solely because of Bob Chipman's Twitter shilling the idea. Apparently some people want to shut down opposing opinions solely because "We didn't stop Hitler's hate speech, now look what happened".

I just saw someone saying that Moviebob is an boring SJW version of Nick Land and I can't think of a better description.

>"Is this the world we live in, now? Where half naked people can just swim up from the ocean floor and start a battle on a public beach?"
Wait, what happened? Did Namor started dicking around again?

Like, people didn't listen to Hitler because he was racist, they listened because they were unemployed and he promised them jobs.

Yep, and thanks to the great efforts of many fighting tooth and nail to stop hate speech we live in a world where Trump is president, Britain is leaving the EU, the whole world becoming focused on identity politics and America is at a brink of a race war.

What a time to be alive!

Fucking hell, he's just a guy who talks and makes jokes about not being idubbbz. It's not like he's skeptic and has a million followers.

>Is Fathom worth reading
no
>what else does Top Cow have that's worth checking out
nothing

To be fair, the racism was also kind of a thing, like a lot of Germans were pretty mad at how somehow the Jews seemed to be getting by just fine in the economic death spiral. Also, Jews did push a lot of attempted Bolshevist revolutions that the average German was getting fed up with, and back then pretty much everyone in Western Europe hated slavs, like even more than they do now.

This is why I hate history. The more you peel back at it, the less black and white it becomes. IT doesn't excuse the atrocities of the Nazis, but it is FAR from a simple black and white explanation.

>the less black and white it becomes
yeah, it just becomes black

>This is going to show up in LOL threads on Sup Forums this week
Fixed.

This is a thing of flawless beauty.

Wait, is that supposed to be a wetsuit? Zip that shit up yo, your cleavage will fuck with your ability to swim. And you should never wear jewelry like that choker when diving, barracuda are pretty awful.

Basically it all comes down to this shitty idea called the "whig view of history" which is the theory that liberal progressive democracy is the natural ideal that all civilizations are moving towards, and that all of history is a slow, gradual evolution towards that ideal.

Because of this nonsensical, borderline-religious paradigm, we teach our history from a morality-based perspective. For example: Rather than a clash between two very different cultures over the nature of the United States, the Civil War is reduced to the slavery argument to justify the North's idea of a unilateral liberal hegemony. Rather than an ongoing struggle to defend the international status quo and keep a stable world order, WWII becomes about the struggle to stop Hitler from taking over the world and killing all the Jews (like we gave two shits about that while the war was going on).

You don't need to be a Nazi sympathizer to really see how the way we teach history is silly. You just have to not see everything through the perspective of morality.

The whole guilt over the Holocaust and why it's so intense in modern Germany even after 70 years is because it was deliberately pushed by the US and UK to ensure that the German spirit remained broken so as to not start another World War.

As much of a liberal faggot as I am, I've always been big on supporting the idea that someone should always have the right to speak their mind no matter what they have to say or how hurtful it may be. We should have no right or grounds to interfere because we expect the same privilege. That's probably why I loved TNG's ethics episodes so much.

Hilariously enough, Germany's obsession with preventing another Hitler and another World War is probably going to be what starts the next major western conflict. If Schulz becomes Chancellor of Germany and Le Pen becomes President of France, we could be looking at a major political schism in the EU.

I think the morality point of view makes some sense though because history has many lessons to teach us. I do not think people force the "evil nazis" thing so much because of Hitler's expansion across Europe, but more than we should focus on the situations and factors that led to things escalating in such a manner to give context to our own lives and avoid repeating them.

Same when you hear about old anecdotes and fables that have some vague overarching moral. I agree with you that history should also be viewed with a wider lens so you can see the larger picture and realize the context behind the actions of various world powers or individuals, but morality should still have a part in it.

Why would you hate history for not being black and white? That's what makes it interesting. I find the fact that people were scrawling dirty jokes in the bathroom thousands of years ago oddly inspiring. People are people and they always have been. We're no more or less moral than anyone else was our society just has different realities due to our level of technology.

Politics is like a pendulum, it'll swing from left and right.

If you try to push it in one direction or stop it from swinging back it'll come back to the other side even harder.

>reduced to the slavery argument
every state that seceded as well as the Constitution of the Confederacy listed slavery as the primary reason for secession

That actually sounds kinda awesome.

>a country shits on you so hard that your national spirit is broken forever to prevent the creation of the next demon lord

Different user, but the argument isn't "slavery had no bearing" but this wasn't about slavery for slavery's sake.

The Southern states didn't want slaves JUST because they hated black people; the North was no less racist in many ways. The issue was that the South's agrarian economy was entirely built upon a foundation of slave labor, which they feared was going to be upended. Given the North's burgeoning industrial economy and a not-unfounded fear that this economic shift would leave the South forever disadvantaged economically and politically. If the North has all the people and the money, it's going to have all the power.

They wanted slaves, but we can't understand the factors that drove us to it if we can't at least try to understand the South's grievances. Painting them as cartoon bigots is unhelpful.

>"the tariff was only a pretext, and disunion and southern confederacy the real object. The next pretext will be the negro, or slavery question."
t. Andrew Jackson

Yes, and that Constitution was written by rich planters who lead the Confederate states. What about the men who actually fought in the trenches? Did they believe they were fighting for slavery?

For the people in charge of the war, the planters of the south and the abolitionists of the north, the war was about slavery. But none of the actual common people wanted to fight a war over slavery. That's why they sold the war to their people as something else which was just as valid. The planters told the poor white southerners that rural urbanite religious nutjobs from the north wanted to conquer them and impose their values and their way of life on them. The abolitionist republicans told the poor, urban whites of the North that the purpose of the war was explictly to prevent secession, and that America would always be one nation, no matter what.

Look at the NYC draft riots: the common man of the North could not give two shits about slavery and had no interest in dying horribly just because a bunch of religious elites had an obsessive interest in dismantling it.

Likewise, guess what happened when the southern soldiers figured out that they were just throwing their lives away so the planters could keep making metric ass-loads of money using the plantation system? They up and deserted en masse.

You also have to remember this isn't the first time.
Biggest reason why they ended up creating WW 2 was the massive debt and blame they had for WW 1.

The entire 20th century has basically been all the countries telling Germany he's an asshole, and the one time Germany says "fuck you I do what I want" six million people die and several countries get run over.

>That feels like a weird distinction since it's pretty clear they hate him BECAUSE of his opinions.
You don't honestly believe that here is no difference from me saying that I disagree with a communist, as opposed to me saying that people shouldn't be allowed to talk about being communist at all?!! Man I take it back, this really is Sup Forumsmblr.

Hilariously enough, Jackson's push for Manifest Destiny actually in part was intended to undermine the plantation system, by giving poor white southerners a chance to take their business west and thus slowly erode the planters's voting base that they needed for political power.

You misunderstood me. I don't mean "hate" as in "wanting to shut off all viewpoints that discomfort me", but it's more like "hate being reminded that I was right in that history is not good vs evil, but winners vs losers."

In a way, shouldn't superheroes be considered a bad thing by this mentality? Then again, it depends on what they do. "crush evil" vs "help the ones who need it the most".

>not mentioning the lingering effects of WW1 that caused WW2

Why do people use that quote to justify random street fighting? Hitler was referring to the state and actual organized crackdowns, not random communist street goons. Hell, random communist street goons is what let him organize the SA. The direct result of the "punch a nazi" mentality is that the Nazis invariably form a paramilitary organization that is much, MUCH better at carrying out violence than the left could ever hope for.

4th Reich soon.

>superheroes be considered a bad thing by this mentality?
Superheroes are fiction. They're meant for entertainment and fantasy, which is why almost all attempts at bringing in real world politics into comics comes off as incredibly retarded

A universe in which flying criminal punchers exists doesn't directly mesh or fit into real world situations.

So basically, it's America's fault.

>4th Reich soon.
It's called European Union, user.

Also to add on, trying to fit in fictional superhero logic or just using fictional characters to justify stuff like 'punch a nazi' is goddamn retarded.

It's fiction, not reality.

More like Britain and France. The partitions they drew up for the Ottoman Empires is the reason why the middle east is such a clusterfuck it is today.

You know, some could make a satirical cartoon where a Dr Doofensmitz-esque villain defeats his archenemy by subjecting him to real world politics like it were Kryptonite.

>More like Britain and France.
Most of the world fuck ups can just be traced back to Britain, can't they? Even America's fuck ups are, in a way, indirect result of Britain fucking up.

The grass roots leftists that started a revolution that resulted in 5,000 deaths, radical destabilization, and the strengthening of radical right wing movements? I know you're not supporting them but it's worth mentioning that user's point remains the use of political violence by the left was the reason for the rise of the NDSAP and I doubt further extremism from the left will incur a different result.

Sun never sets, motherfucker.

...

Read Unqualified Reservations, user.

To add when I said I hate history is that the people who know the most about history are most of the time are NOT the ones influencing what's going on in the world. Hell, we don't matter. Antifa and Trump are going to do their own things and nothing we do can change their minds.
