What’s the second show

>a show people actually watch
vs
>something everyone outside of Sup Forums has already forgotten

t. Justin Bieber

>Not Winona fucking Ryder

2009 called.

They said fuck you.

honstly the return was shit. Lynch lynched himself. Dougie jones was retarded and lasted 10 episodes too long. All plots and side reslove themselves pointlessly without protagonist input. Its not fun.
That being said i wont watch cucked things either.

...

Max is a best husbando
>no homo or pedo tho

>be Max
>be completely inconsequential to the story
>like, UGH, you guys

Remember how the chad plot is just him being a dick, then he is randomly caught by the sheriffs for his crimes that were only just revealed to us. No character development along the way. Thats because you had to watch drunk kyle Mclauklin yell HHHEeeeLLLoooo at a casino for 50 mins twice.

I’ve never seen twin peaks discussed outside of Sup Forums and even then, it’s unitelligible shitposting.

I do, it was fantastic.

>fucking cultist tier defense
look admit it has flaws, Im not saying its garbage it just doesnt live up to season 2, not saying its bad because it is defferant, its bad because it seams forced, like a rick and morty character introduction, ie Michael Sara.

Lol you brought up one scene from the Return and I pointed out that it was great. Why are you so frustrated by what other people like?

I unironically believe the return is actual Kino with a capital K

Michael Cera was not forced at all

>He thinks S3 was worse than S2

>defferant
>Michael Sara

Jesus, the “brainlets can’t into Season 3” meme really is true

attacking me instead of defending your position, looks like you are in denial.

i've not watched s3 but i doubt anything can be worse than the second half of s2, that was literally lynch trying to be as GARBAGE as he possible could get away with, to fuck with the executives who demanded him to double the seasons length, if anything other than this, he is a completely hack who lost the track of him show

>Let's just shove an episode centered on the autistic biker and the prima donna, who are two less likeable characters by the way, we will make him try to run away and get trapped doing mechanical works for some uninteresting couple who have no connection with the show and will not be mentioned again after this episode LMAO

why are lynchlets so defensive
they can only hide behind bad memes and screaming "lynched!" to other people

I agree that stranger things is pleb and their use of music is fucking retarded and it has that typical problem a lot of serials have where the shit is just paced poorly, but desu I don't hate stranger things, I don't adore it either

Season 3 was absolute kino in terms of the cinematography and the feelings it gave me week to week

In terms of plot resolution and answering questions it didn’t do much, but by now if you’re this deep into Twin Peaks / Lynch and haven’t realized how he values mystery and interpretation over all else then it’s your own fault

>pressing spellcheck before posting virgin
>Smash keyboard and post chad

Except this thread you’re in right now is proof of the opposite.

>i've not watched s3
>Thinks Lynch had involvement in the second half of S2 until the finale
Holy fuck, tell me you're trolling.

>kino
Of course such retards wouldn't appreciate all of Season 3

>calls me a "cultist"
>thinks he can use a moral high ground to call out ad hominem

i can't

So far the anti S3 party has used LYNCH meme

The pro S3 party has hid behind bad memes

Please do not compare ST and TP
TP is art and ST is popcorn entertainment. Both hit their mark well enough.

>letting somebody else run (and ruin) half of your show's season

so, he's a hack then. thanks

Brilliant anonymous shitpost! Fantastic lack of context or higher thought!

HEY, REMEMBER GHOSTBUSTERS?

REMEMBER DIG DUG?

>Lol what's a TV producer?

based Lynch making stupid people feel smart since eraserhead

DUDE DEMO-DOGS

>guys
>GUYS
>why is no one else wearing costumes
lost it at this part

>they're back...in dog form!

Lost

The fact that you don't know is why it's patrician.

Do people actually watch stranger things? I thought it was one of those meme shows that only women watch, like Doctor Who.

The basic plot outline of "kids + LE WACKY 80S" made me want to ram my head into a mincemeat machine, so I've never watched a scene from it.

>being this much of a hipster
show might be patrician, but you sure as fuck are as far from it as can be.

Good post.

I couldn't even get through the first ep of S2 of ST because the return was so much more enjoyable

>comparing a children's show to the kino spectacle of the century
Isn't that a little unfair?

Yeah, it's fun. Even if Twin Peaks is better.
ST you half-watch/listen to while doing something else. TP you give your full attention. Basically

This is a big reason why Stranger Things turns me off. The 80s nostalgia means it should be catering to an audience that lived in that era and would be in their 40-60s by now, yet the target audience for the show is 16-24 year olds.

...

>he is randomly caught by the sheriffs for his crimes that were only just revealed to us
ahem

Don't respond to him. He already admitted to not actually watching S3.

Best girl

How do I get a perfect wife like Sheryl lads

that wasnt me

worst character.

To quote MIKE: you've been tricked

she's not thick she's just got her jeans pulled all the way up, winona is hotter

I don't see the point of making throwbacks to things everyone remembers, I dunno how it is now but when I was a kid in the 2000's everyone knew what ghostbusters was

HEY REMEMBER COFFEE???

More for me user, she’s got a nice mommy butt. Definitely not THICC in the porn sense but she’s got a nice figure

>people still dress up as Ghostbusters to this day
>yet kids doing it at a time when it had just come out is bad

I don't get this

i kinda enjoyed watching the new twin peaks, but in retrospective it was a pretty shit season of a pretty shit show

KEK

jesus christ i've never noticed harry potter was a kike

That, and Ghostbusters came out the same year Season 2 took place.

...and?

fuck off, they do everything they can to shove in cheap 80s nostalgia in this show, this is not like complaining about a regular show set in the 80s deciding it would be neat to include this particular nostalgia-bait. that's literally what they do on this show

>hey remember old table top games?
>hey remember old classic video games?
>hey remember old classic movies?
>hey remember old music?

and the story just gravitates around it

The thing that annoyed me was the scene with Jonathan talking about Bowie, Television, The Smiths, Joy Division, etc.

Bowie at least I can believe because he was huge and had been around in the 70s, but a teenage living in Indiana in ‘83 would almost certainly not have heard of the other three bands.

>needing spellcheck
high melanin levels detected

This is a fair enough criticism perhaps for boosting relatively unknown arcade games for cool points but contextually nerd kids dressed as Ghostbusters for a Halloween costume makes sense.

>doubt anything can be worse than the second half of s2, that was literally lynch trying to be as GARBAGE as he possible could get away with
Lynch wasn't even involved with the second half of s2

I gotta give Lynch credit for allowing older women to be the stars of this new season, I feel like you almost never see that in hollywood.

Probably helps that Madchen, Sheryl, and Sherilyn are all still hot as fuck

The fuck? Laura Palmer is alive again in the new season?

>they do everything they can to shove in cheap 80s nostalgia in this show
you are aware this show is set in the early 1980s, right?

I'm glad someone remembered the thing/polar opposite of thing format of the original instead of just being THING I LIKE/THING NO LIKE

yeah man if there's one thing that makes my blood boil it's an incorrectly executed internet meme cartoon

if you don't catch the difference of "being set in the x's" and "being about the x's", then you're truly lost

but i'll try to help you, think about Mad Men for sec. ok, now tell me, is Mad Men a show about "how things used to happen in 60s" or a show about "things that happened in the 60s". spotted the difference? great. but if you don't i'll try again: imagine it's an episode set when JFK got murdered, would the plot be about "how the things the show deals were affected by that event" or be about "look at all those things you know that happened when jfk died"

Tinfoil fag here

I only enjoyed ST for the mkultra plot lines, S2 sucked because had 0 government tinfoil plot.

It's funny that you tried to make your point by distinguishing between two different kinds of period fiction, but accidentally knock your distinction over when you try to actually apply it to an example. Mad Men did both, the moon landing and the Kennedy/Nixon debates and the assassination and so on, and it showed how characters in the show are affected by those things and those things move the plot forward.

Just like Stranger Things does. The formula is the same. Era-specific thing happens -> characters react to era-specific thing -> the plot is driven by those characters and their reactions. Ghostbusters comes out -> nerds obsess over it -> nerds are bullied for their obsession. Video games become more prominent in pop culture -> nerds move on from tabletop games to arcade games -> nerds discover Max via arcade. I suppose the music at the Snow Ball was "cheap" nostalgia too, right?

>no hawk
oh my fucking god

well no, because the mad men setting is intrinsically tied to changes on politics and the consumer market, it would hard for them got through certain period without mentioning the impacts of it. The moon landing wasn't only a crucial moment for that decade, but of history as a whole, which is different from "let's base this episode around this old-school game because you know, nintendo, mario, zelda and so on, it would be the coolest thing to do right now"
Stranger things have the most basic premise possible, childhood relations and struggles, and it pretty much grants the show plot to gravitate around all 80s stuff that looks cool to millennials today.

Imagine the sentence "Mad Men's setting at an advertising agency in the 1960s grants it licence to gravitte around all '60s stuff that looks cool to millennials today". Just a thought.

>let's base this episode around this old-school game because you know, nintendo, mario, zelda and so on
Not a single episode in either this season or the previous season was based around an old school game, or game of any sort. The title of one of the episodes, Dig Dug, references a game. The plot of that episode shares almost nothing in common with that game, other than the presence of tunnels in both. In some episodes they play games, but their playing said games does not drive the narrative.

You're really reaching. Even if you were right, which you're not, calling it "cheap" is a mischaracterisation in any sense. If you mean cheap literally, you're wrong as it's quite expensive from a production stand point. if you mean as in low effort or easy to do, you're wrong because procurement and repair of old school arcade games is difficult enough, much less incorporating it into the narrative in an appealing or authentic seeming way, which I think, and most viewers agree, they did. If you mean cheap as in superficial or an obvious route, then I think you might want to look to other genres than action sci-fi horror, which are fast paced and intended to deliver maximum reward for minimum audience effort.
