>The remaining shows owned by CBS Distribution like Cheers, Frasier, NCIS series, all Star Trek series, etc. that haven't already been purged from the site are reported to be leaving in Q1 2018

What do we make of this?

Netflix is shit. I wasn't finished watching My Name is Earl, you bastards!

>the FOX Futurama seasons
Lmao the absolute state of Netflix.
King of the Hill and Malcolm in the Middle were two pretty unforgivable losses.

Hulu has always been better when it comes to shows. Prove me wrong.

I feel like they're going about success in exactly the wrong way. Instead of becoming a cheap, convenient substitute for piracy, they're going hard on their original shows, which will just turn them into yet another online TV channel (from the quality of their shows so far, a bad TV channel) that you have to subscribe to. They're basically retarded and I expect Hulu to eat their lunch overtime.

this is bretty good analysis

Yup. I may just switch over to Hulu since it comes with my Spotify student account. Having both is probably worth the $5.99 a month.

Does Hulu still do ads though?

>Netflix is only one country

Rest of the world is an entirely different story. stay mad, americucks

>Alias
>Fringe
>Chuck
>Firefly
>The X Files
As someone that only recently got free access to Netflix it pisses me off that I missed out on all this kino.

>everyone in the developed fucking world has subscribed to our service for the convenience of having all of their favorite content readily accessible whenever they want
>hmmm
>ok guys I have an idea
>let's stop offering 90% of that and instead produce our own youtube-tier capeshit, wet garbage sitcoms, shameless ripoffs of good shows, and like two quality IPs
>what could go wrong
I hate them and will not be surprised when they crash and burn soon
Getting all of Disney's content was their last shot, is Disney still backpedalling to make their own service like they supposedly were a while back?

There are people on Sup Forums that aren't running their own Plex server?
Are you sure you don't want r/Sup Forums?

Yes, Disney is making their own. Losing that content plus Star Trek is a huge negative.

Are you sure you don't want Sup Forums?

Their entire library in other countries is way more limited, retard.

You have to pay extra for a subscription with no ads

Farscape is gone too ;_;

>it's always sunny and star trek leaving
FUCK i gotta get on that

It's no coincidence that you're seeing more movies and shows with the massive NETFLIX stamp, they're slowly trying to wean the subscribers off anything they don't own.
Eventually Netflix will be an original content service so they don't have to fork over royalty dosh, or at least limit how much they have to pay.

Is there any way of seeing when a show is expiring? Don't want to watch something and then have it removed on me half way through.

"Leaving Netflix"

It's called rotation. Fresh Prince was added in 2016. Some of those shows will likely return if they renew rights with studios.

>Using Babby's First Media Server

Set your own up, homo.

Fucking hell i waited so long for Star Trek.

If they remove TOS before I finish watching it I dunno what I will do because I'm already not paying them.

>Stupid fags paying for a service where they can take off any movie/show any time they want
>Instead of giving up and turning to piracy you people just fags just try to find other similar shitty services to pay for
>>>r/Sup Forums

>cheap, convenient substitute for piracy
That's how I always saw it.
No need to wait for a download.
although it does take me about 20 min to pick something to watch

Can you make it have a nice menu like Plex has?

Piracy is harder. I can hardly find any seeds for a lot of old shows now. What happened?

What is Kodi? I heard its a good alternative but don't know shit about it

The big public sites shutdown and now everyone is hiding on private trackers.

Private trackers. Don't believe the meme, once you get in keeping a ratio is easy and there's no dick sucking. Getting in is a matter of luck though unfortunetly

>Muh fag servers
Just download your shows and watch it on the computer like a true patrician.

>Not watching it on the computer and then going to the kitchen and streaming it to your tablet while making something to eat, and then stream it to your phone and watching it in bed
Are you sure you're a patrician.

When will profits for shows (aside from ads) finally dry up once almost everyone stops paying and decides to sit in front of their monitors and watch shows for free
will it ever happen? ER used to get 30-40 million viewers at its peak
Now the most popular shows struggle to get over 10 million viewers (Nielsen ratings)

Is this decline eventually going to really affect something? Or will networks just become even shitter

Advertisers will just start paying Netflix

If only apple wasn't retarded and this was actually possible on ipad without a ton of loopholes or owning a mac

but just think of all the great new content that Netflix is putting out!
>13 Reasons Why Anybody Would Watch This
>Big Mouth (haha a vagina joke)
>Orange is the New Black
>specials by all your favorite comedians like Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari, and some other unfunny twits
>awful awful documentaries
>literally every new Adam Sandler movie
>and much more in production!

but netflix is almost dead too, why are people so stupid? they have to go online to fucking use netflix anyway so why not just watch shit for free thats a few clicks away and requires no money and doesn't take shows away from you at random?

What? I do it all the time using my plex server

t. millennial weeabo faggot

>It's called rotation. Fresh Prince was added in 2016. Some of those shows will likely return if they renew rights with studios.
That's not going to happen. Studios are setting up their own streaming services. Times have changed.

As long as they keep Power Rangers I'm happy.
They even just added Ninja Steel.

>What do we make of this?

mainly that NBC/universal want in on the subscription service market along with other major networks and/or parent company so they're going to start splitting everything up and make consumers buy multiple services at $10 each in order to recapture the market losses from cable/air TV.

It's kind of like Coke pulling out of grocery stores because they notice people want Coke products and surely if there was a store that only sold coke products, they could make more money. So they make a store that has every product coke ever made and they update it with the newest products. But everyone is kinda disappointed because who wants to get their groceries and then travel to a separate store to get some soda, even if the selection of soda is technically greater.

Then netflix is trying to replace cable by providing original content, something that nobody else can pull from their service. The grocery store decides to make their own soda to make up for the loss of Coke and Pepsi and some people like it but really most of us just want pepsi or coke and not Hopper's Upside Down Cola. Luckily I have a source for all the free soda I can drink, from any store anywhere, even across the ocean. So fuck em.

*streaming services
Apple and Google are planning original content on their own platforms, where I'm sure they'll advertise their own shit.

when will it all finally die and everyone just turn to torrenting instead and then finally back to books as the new old escapist medium

>Don't mind me, just pirating your cola

is black books gone atm? damn it I just finished season 2. I would be more annoyed if I didn't piggyback on someone else's subscription

yeah this

the only time this year I haven't been able to find something on public torrents was this

Yep. Left on Wednesday. I had only just gotten into it myself.

Movies aren't the issue, TV shows are.

Get used to it boyos. 2018 and onwards you'll need to be subscribed to all media streaming sites to watch season 1 of this and season 2 of that.
The Jew is coming!

They're never a problem though so long as they're decent even as far back as the 80s

Name some shows you couldn't find seeded on public trackers

>ER used to get 30-40 million viewers at its peak
Less people had cable, and cable had less channels that we're any good.
That was when AMC was olny watched in retirement homes, history and discovery only watched in schools...
AMC originally Americas Movie Channel is now only known as that number I type in to watch walking dead or breaking bad,mad men, better call Saul...all things that didn't exist before ER.

More options, even late night shows used to rule, now instead of watching Johnny Carson with the parents, you watch adult swim on your own tv.

>Plex
Use Poseidon faggot.

So when does it all end, when does almost everyone stop paying to watch a series?

once Star Trek is gone, I'm unsubscribing.

Would you carbonate a car?

>Pays for streams
>is upset that he's getting ripped off

...

Basically XBMC, they changed the name a few years ago because it didn't really make sense anymore. Has good streaming plugins, just needs a bit more setup than a Plex server. Boxes with everything already setup used to be pretty popular with cheapskate normies before they were banned.

Mann & Machine

What the best streaming add-on they all broke and theres so many forks from Exodus, Covenant etc

I can see it going in the US once Discovery finishes airing, desu. Got to out something worthwhile on that shitty service.

Getting ripped off,of course he is upset, stupid.
What a shit point you made.

We never had any of those shows to begin with. Sucks to not be in the US

Always Sunny leaves in December too. I'm cancelling my subscription after that. MitM, X-Files and now Sunny? Unforgivable.

See

All these people mad at netflix are mad at the wrong company.
The other studios aren't letting netflix renew contracts, or are asking for stupid amounts of cash to re-up.

Netflix has increased its sub price because the other studios started to realize where the future was headed and are beginning to try and fuck consumers.

The golden age of streaming is gone. Welcome to the bullshit al la carte streaming age.

cable channels like a&e and bravo used to just be documentaries and opera and shit and now they're just reality tv

What’s a free service I can use that has everything I could ever want? I know plenty of free streaming websistes but the availability on those is so inconsistent

> free service
> that has everything I could ever want

What the fuck kind of world do you think we live in.

Your own plex server, filled with media from private trackers

This. Whether it's CBS All Access or Disney Now, everyone wants to skip the middle man and make their own in-house Netflix, all demanding a separate sub fee. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The only hope is that all these different services fail miserably, and they all go crawling back to Netflix.

Rewatching this. This is absolute cringe.

Can we all agree that capitalism bad utterly failed? It's just depressing at this point. A lot of intellectuals support anarcho communism but that sounds stupid to me as well.

Don't forget Danger 5 a while ago

some of these are definitely still there in yurop. always thought murricans had more shit when it came to netflix

whats the solution

>Can we all agree that capitalism bad utterly failed?
Along with our educational system it seems.

>Loli-kuns have gotten used to having our media purged and so have mastered data hoarding technique
I have all the shows you want to watch on my plex server. Why would you pay someone else to blast you in the ass? You don't have IASIP, Malcolm in the Middle, King on the Hill, Curb your Enthusiasm, Early Futurama or Simpsons, what the fuck are you idiots paying for?!

who even uses it? people who are willing to watch whatever you put in front of them? I took a free trial last month because it was the most convenient place to nostalgia trip on Goosebumps but their selection just seems abysmal yet so many people I know never shut the fuck up about their Netflix addiction.

Danger 5 in HD

that would go to amazon prime, tbqh

Sorry, forgot to mention I also have all of The Wire, Sopranos, Mad Men and Breaking Bad.
You should all just end yourselves for being such low level Normans

No idea. But people are starving.

>Visit family and check their netflix
>50% lame documentaries and bargain bin shows.

Thanks fag

Why are amerimutts so obsessed with netflix?
>Dude! netflix and chill lmao xD
>what do you mean you dont have netflix?

No idiot. You're thinking of corporatism, and calling it capitalism. You absolutely do NOT want to abandon the means of production to some as-yet-unnamed-but-totally-infallible-i'm-sure entity.

Netflix already said years ago that they cannot afford paying the constantly growing fees for having all those shows owned by all those other companies, so instead they want to pump out tons of shows of their own

this. 90% of Netflix originals nowadays are absolutely worthless

This isn't a problem with capitalism user, it's that thick cloud of smug hanging over California. Every single company pulling shows off Netflix isn't building a competitor because they think it's more profitable (because it isn't), but because they need absolute control over everything.

At least a year or so ago you could watch your favorite movies from the 20th century.

I just checked Netflix and found out Die Hard is gone. I fucking love that movie. Fuck you for making me look to see if it was still there.

BwO, deterritorialize yoself

I was really confused at that JonBenet Ramsey documentary they picked up. I'm pretty sure it pissed off the majority of people who watched it.

There are like 6 good movies here to begin with
