Cinematography thread

you know
like we used to

It's impossible to find a film that matches the atmosphere of the mansion/ritual sequence

I love the set of NYC in that film
imagine if he'd lived another 10 years, we could've seen his take on Rear Window

Do you have one for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2?

nope sorry
never really got the appeal of that film, Jim Siedow is hilarious in it though

cinematography involves framerate and camera movement, which these shots don't show. so that's not the best term to use.

...

...

How do I know if a movie's cinematography is good or not?

no one would stop to look at the thread otherwise

Symmetry, Lighting, Staging, Aesthetic.

Was this any good?

depends how minimal you like your storytelling
it's one of my favorites of the decade so far

incoming blade runner 2049

I need to watch this movie someday.

Is it any good?

It's a shame this film had so little to offer besides the amazing visuals

>tfw lost all my grids
/r/ one for The Red Shoes

Obligatory

I thought Lee Pace did a great job
it's just the third act is a complete mess

Can we make fun of you for posting grids like we use to as well?

This movie looks really cool, is it any good?

ITT: people think good cinematography is wide shots of landscape or tight close ups of peoples faces

timeless movie

>Symmetry
But a movie can look good without it being symmetric. A movie can also look like shit even if it's symmetric

>a picture with good composition is cinematography

name?

...

>this sexy film hasn't been posted yet

The mirror (Tarkovsky)

...

wouldn't have it any other way

>Prequel containment thread not started yet

...

...

I need to go through this series again just for those final couple episodes

I remember that Texas Chainsaw 2 had some really nice shots, so I wouldn't mind seeing a grid.

I don't remember too many interesting ones, I think TCM3 had more interesting visuals honestly
but I'll see what I can do once I finish posting these

How do I make a collage like this?

reddit is that way

...

i didn't wanna use tech noir and don't be RUDE

Yes, I dislike that dude but I'll be dammed if I say that's not a great movie, excellent performances and a great window to those people's lives

style, purpose, lighting, consistency

...

I had a great time watching this movie, it's a bit of a shame that it was more style than substance though. Highly recommended I only knew of it because of la/tv/erians that enjoy movies too

What a great fucking movie, highly recommended for any la/tv/erian on the fence about it

best I could do

>tfw kidnapped gf who falls in love with you even though you only wanted her to pretend to be your gf for your parents, and to drive you around and shit

How do i save a thread? There is a lot of shit here that i want to watch in the future

...

save all the pics in a folder labeled "to watch"

...

...

It's good. Kinda anticlimactic.

Imo Wages of Fear the original had the best ending

I'm gonna be in the minority in this but Bronson is a terrible film

I didn't like it that much either desu, worst Refn.
