I could be digging into this too hard, but the bee is a symbol for life and dead, or more specifically, rebirth. I have seen Adventure Time since that one flashback episode with Ice King and Marceline singing the 'Cheers' theme, but from what I've heard, the show now has a lot to do with death and rebirth.
