Terrible special effects

Terrible special effects.
CGI, puppets, greenscreen, makeup, anything goes as long as the effect is awful

holy shit
what show is this, son's of anarchy?

...

Someone should honestly slap lynch in the back of the head.

Every f/x scene I see of this movie looks bad.

>they hid CGI-model dude's blank face

hilarious

RAIMI

Aw come on, it wasn't that bad considering its age.

>2001
>same year as Fellowship of the Ring
Try again

>Gunganafterbirth.gif

>Fellowship of the Ring had CGI

...

it was. Mummy Returns seems to have so bad CG, compared to 1999 one, which still somehow holds up

That looked like garbage on release.

oh my fuckign god. no fucking way.

It's from 2001, not 1994

...

I had that game

This is a major motion picture?

lmao that snake's face

oh god, I don't remember it being this bad

this is kino though

Congratulations dad, it's a boy

MEESA BACK

Totally no jewish nepotism going on here my dude, it's all merits

That is a full grown ass man at :11

Jackson is a visionary, a pioneer.

kek, I never noticed it until now

to be fair, i'm a crying little bitch at that point to notice things like this

That would be the aforementioned stunt.

hah, never noticed this one before. still better than Hobbit tho

Eh, that's average green screen. Here's some truly terrible green screen.

Fuck, only now I realize
Always noticed something being off, but never to this extend
Like the scene too much to really care about however

that final kick from Romeo Must Die

It did!

It's from 2001AD not 2001BC!

...

...

of course it did you retard, do you know how expensive it would be to use a real balrog on the movie?

It had a shitload of CGI

...

Where's the CGI?

...

...

that was a great scene

Literally an FMV game

I'm not one of those "HAH LYNCHED" people, but it is very clear he was going for an aesthetic here and I think he achieved it.

I can stand the terrible CGI but that filter is too much for me

That's why non-linear workflow is important.

Also the final two shots in the show:

Look at those fucking breadcrumbs floating in space at the very end.

You were always a kidder, Steve.

haha oh wow, absolutely everything looks abysmal

mfw

That's literally the cutscenes from Abe's oddysey

Watch for Padme clipping through the machine too

haha what the fuck, what a shitty show

I don't even remember this scene at all. wtf.

...

Seeing this in theaters was amazing. Even as a stupid child I couldn't believe this was in a major film. Even for the time this was incredibly awful.

what's with the weird warping that happens all throughout that clip? Is that actually in the show, or was that some kind of attempt at avoiding content ID?

I've been wondering if in a few years when costs go even further down, if a skilled re CGing of the prequels will improve them in any discernible way. At least make them look less distractingly dated.

just get some actual bread, it's your big finale surely you can get some fucking bread, jesus christ

it's actually amazing to think that the games now are better looking than the movies were

I remember seeing this movie in the theater, and being completely stunned that that effect was in a big blockbuster Wolverine movie. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is actually more convincing than that.

Never mind that it was the fourth film with Wolverine in it, and his claws had always looked good previously.

remember when the workprint leaked and people thought "this is a rough cut, it'll have to look better in final"

Just checked a different version of that clip , seems to have been done by whoever uploaded that video.

Did they just forget to replace the placeholder with the finished render or something? I mean how the hell did that make it through screenings?

post workprint please

behind all the smoke that covers up how bad it is

I understand what you're saying but when they both use the exact same tech, with varying budgets in both industries, then it makes sense of course. Just sayin'.

why are the halls so endlessly huge? wasnt this a jedi academy of sorts? do they use force speed to get around or

lol this movie aged so badly, I remember loving it as a kid

Most production CGI is done with ray tracing renderers, no mainstream game is using that.
Games are just smarter with baking a lot of work into textures and have more memory available these days.

> My first months with blender

Why not just shoot her in the back of the head rather then try to bash her head with your rifle? thats some storm trooper logic right there.

How did we go from this

to THIS?????

...

The idea of a lightsaber fight lighting up a dark area is pretty cool but why did they do it in the most retarded way possible

That actually looks alright, for as far as the Hobbit scenes go
The shieldwall scene is far worse

>there are people who watch this and still think Star Wars is anything other than a children's movie

ah yes the old
>I was shitting on the canvas on purpose, hah can't criticize me!
his aesthetic is a garbage bin

>truck blowing its horn as he hits it

That's poopy non

youtu.be/wH7Q2y9iKPU

Holy shit

tru

> WARHAMMER TOTAL WAR, NOW ON STEAM

Because Lucas doesn't have any kino skills

oh god, I remember thinking they looked fine at the kinoplex but these are so fucking bad

I was 13 when it came out and I remember people making fun of it at the time.
