How is this seriously one of the highest grossing movies of all time? Like honestly? I know we always hate on shit, but this is legitimately a terrible movie.

because the audience is stupid

Pretty forgettable flick 2bh

nostalgia

pretty simple

Chris Pratt was a major star for a moment there

Because it was very good.

What triggers me the most about it is that the human characters have to be unironically retarded for the movie to even happen. If they took 5 seconds to think about their actions nothing would have happened.

Someon post the video that dude comparing Jurassic Park with Jurassic World

How are they retarded ?

For starters, the way the i-rex tricks them is very clever on the animal's part, but you have to be dumber than an ape to even think of getting inside its cage just because you can't immediately see it. I mean ok, you can't see it inside its cage, but where the fuck should it be? There's no way a thing that size would get out without anyone noticing, for fuck sake.

>Oh shit wait!
>it's still in the cage!
>I didn't know it could hide it's thermal readings even though I'm an obsessive workaholic who runs the park
>Hope my scientists didn't forget to tell me if it can do anything else like camouflage itself or talk to velociraptors
>Guess we won't know till we send a bunch of guys to go fight it in jungle terrain and then if that doesn't work assemble a team of velociraptors to fight it

And those literally aren't even the worst things about the movie.

Worst part is that they are way TOO tongue in cheek with criticizing the dumb ones in universe. Like the glasses guy. Way too hard on the *nudge nudge wink wink* stuff, as if the audience didn't know it or to pander to them.

>Attracted older people who saw the original films in theaters
>Attracted younger people who wanted to act like they were born 10 years earlier than they were
>Attracted the Marvel audience who liked Pratt as Star-Lord
>Attracted the Parks & Recreation audience who liked Andy Dwyer
>Chris Pratt's stardom was nearing its apex
>Was a high-budget production that could afford a powerhouse marketing campaign
>Word of mouth + people started buying up Jurassic Park shirts because of Jake Johnson's scene in the movie, basically being walking billboards for the movie

It was basically a perfect recipe for box office success. I'm surprised it didn't make more.

nostalgia for the permanent adolescence generation

This
JP and TLW were memorable. JP3 to some extent too with that retarded Spinosaurus.
JW was awful

Bird cage scene was unironically kino.

Nostalgia factor
MOMMYFU
Raptor operators

The next one is more gungho than TLW, with """leaked""" scripts showing PMCs and the US Navy capturing and killing dinosaurs before the island explodes

The opening scene is a throwback to the very first raptor scene in JP except this time its a helicopter chasing down a T-Rex and one dude apparently taking one for the team

There's also some super uber raptor that Dr. Wu and Lego are hiding

I wish all this shit was a reboot so we could ignore it entirely
>super uber raptor
And fuck that, the original dinos were mixed with frog DNA but none of this trigen stuff

dinosaurs just work with kids..
they're just unlucky they weren't kids in 93.
what i don't get is how many critics thought this movie was acceptable. no reasonable person can watch the ending with a straight face

Normal dinos are nothing more but zoo animals at this point, hence the need for meme super dinos

Super dinos also have opportunities in the military industrial complex but Private Pyle got into a world of shit

>tfw the first generation of JP movies got many dino things wrong
>tfw the second generation of JP movies doesn't even use real dinos anymore

SOME FOLKS ARE BORN
MADE TO WAVE THE FLAG

Marketing is the only thing that matters for box office.

That applies to literary every Jurassic Park movie.

It was good the first time around.
Pretty good the second time round.
After the second viewing I realized it was pretty bad.
Aunt Claire carried the movie with her awkwardness and boobs which made me mistake it for kino.
Children were annoying.
Chris Pratt was too vanilla.
Didn't like most of the other actors - all of them were weak as fuck. The raptor trainer villain guy (Chris Pratt's superior) was dumb and forgettable. Was he even a villain and who the hell was he anyway that gave him so much power at the end (I know he worked for InGen but he acted as if he owned the place). Indian CEO dude was dumb and forgettable but also died a stupid af death. Control centre people were dumb and forgettable.
The movie was also host to some terrible acting. Like that kid Chris Pratt first rescues from the raptor cage, the two lead kids, etc.
I guess BD Wong's role was the only thing that remains good upon reflection, but his character was poorly used imo.

I'm not sure. It's mixed opinions based on normies I've talked to about it. I've heard people call it amazing, okay and terrible. Normies stating the typical it's no where near as good as Jurassic Park so I don't like it and the kids are stupid, I'm assuming unlikable as well.

The name and Pratt probably sell it.

>wait you don’t see the dinosaur in it’s pen?
>hang on while I drive to your control room for some reason to continue this phone conversation
>hey you think we should enter the dinosaur pen before getting the ok?
>sure what could possibly go wrong?
In all seriousness, why did the red head aunt have to leave where they were, get in her car, and start driving to the control center to make a phone call to the control center

>three viewings to realize JW was dogshit

i know i didn't hate it as much as i thought i would but it's definitely a product of its time

Action with CG Dinosaurs. It's basically the casino effect with movies. People won't be able to give you their money fast enough

dnIosaUrs r cOoL

Uh, no. Not the original. Not at all. Every character in the movie is portrayed as a competent expert in their field. They just got in over their heads because no one could fully understand dinosaurs + the guy who felt overworked and underpaid fucked them over. It's a great movie and worthy of it's classic status.

They need to build some of these for all of the Dino shit, tornadoes, typhoons etc

>the fat slob whose job is to watch security cameras

Perfectly fine dinosaur entertainment. I still don't understand what the fuck people who say it's terrible were expecting.

kys the ending was great

I loved that game as a kid, considering playing it again.

CGI will make it look dated in ten to twenty years
I re-watched the original JP and the animatronics or whatever they call them still hold up very well
