There Will Be Blood is a movie for people who haven't seen movies

Only rural and suburban idiots like LOTR.
City people all enjoy The Chronicles of Narnia

I can't just choose one single film, so fuck it, it's easier with a somewhat volatile top 3 instead.

If your judgement includes being depressed and using plastic robots as escapism then you're absolutely spot on.

What's wrong with it?

Fug, I should have put Apocalypse Now in instead of Koyaanisqatsi, just haven't watched it in a while. My judgement for you is that you're a pretty cool guy with a great taste in war kino.

I love 2001, Koyaanisqatsi and Apocalypse Now but I could never get into Stalker

could you sell it to me so maybe I can watch it with fresh eyes?

It's an extremely derivative and nihilistic film made by a director before he's found a style of his own held up entirely by a single over-the-top performance and almost ruined by its ludicrous ending

Living either in Europe or somewhere in the upper States, loves exploring the outdoors, probably comes from a troubled family and struggles with relating to people on an emotional level.

Either Lost in Translation or Youth by Sorrentino
Sup Forums

Well I can't change the movie but I really like the texture of the whole thing. And some of the monologues are really good. Tarkovsky's movies aren't something you have to love or anything. Don't pretend/try really hard to like something just because other people have it on their lists.

The new Criterion bluray is very good

Hard to pick any but maybe The Last of the Mohicans because of childhood memories.

I need some more /yellow/ movies

I've seen Enemy

A lot of older silent movies were shot in sepia and not black and white, so restorations will be more yellowish

I always see it in people's favorite lists among with movies I do actually love so I think that maybe I've misjudged it or something.

I havent even watched it all, I put it on 4 years ago and got into 15minutes before turning it off. I wanna give it another chance because many people IRL who's opinions I respect consider it great

I'll go top 3 cause its hard to say a single film

Like most Tarkovsky films, it really depends on your disposition - which preferably should be a melancholic one. Do not expect something that's immersed in dealing with clear cut scientific concepts, e.g., like Blade Runner or 2001, as much as you should expect something more mysterious and ontological about the nature of humanity's pursuit for knowledge and satisfaction, and therefore the inevitable pessimism that derives from that self-reflection. I'll agree that the first part drags on for a little longer than it probably should, a lot of it is expository and doesn't set the tone all that well, but the second is easily one of the most beautifully existential moments I've ever had the pleasure of seeing in cinema.

Great collage, saved. Thanks, fellow Tarkobrosky.

thank you man, I really appreciate this
Im gonna give it another try tonight thanks

I just put favorites i've watched in the last 2 years or so, i have no all time favorites, that being said, Self Criticism was my favorite movie from this year's city festival, so i thought i'd give it a shoutout. (Shares the title with Une femme douce, but i already have Old Joy in my list)

I enjoy odd humor and satirical stuff so i just fell in love with the movie, plus, there's not a single thing about the movie thats bad, think of it like having a Wes Anderson as your favorite movie, its surely not the most deep or amazing thing you've ever seen but sometimes that stuff just clicks with'yaknowhatimsayin?

i would literally side with the right one if there were no black/arab people in europe.

You don't believe a single word of that, don't you?

Your last sentence is a very good description. It looked a bit like The Lobster but the commie-undertones made me afraid it's semi-commie-friendly underneath the humour; or is it apolitical?

A surprisingly nice and creatively dispositioned guy that's generally friendly to everyone, exercises some form of artistic talent in his free time like writing or painting, probably has weird tastes in porn.

What do I have to gain by lying to a bunch of autists on a mongolian finger painting website?

>Self-Criticism of a Bourgeois Dog

Pretty good, except I don't really do anything creative anymore. Used to draw as a kid and am planning on trying my hand at coding a video game, though don't know when I'll have the time.

I'd bet my dick that youre some limp-wristed, glasses-wearing, above-it-all, hipster faggot who would never associate himself with the term hipster because "ugh hipsters are SO mainstream now" which would make you a meta-hipster which is even worse

in conclusion: KYSASAP

Since it's extremely ironic i just thought of it as apolitical, but that was me

My friend came out of the movie with the same feel, tho.

Gee, how'dya like the new Thor movie, chump?

Its slav'd not black'd, bruh. learn your ethnicitys, anyway, if you like Wes Anderson and dry humor (Rick Alverson, Loganthimos i'd recommend checking out, but you're obviously some dude who's in here to discuss Nolan vs Villenueve or w/e mainstream cinema is feedin you faggots in the month.

I just forgot to add something and did another reply, user, i'm too old to get mad at anonymous people who're here only for trolling.
Anyways, your description is somewhat accurate, i've never denied it, i'm actually good looking but i'm a hipster faggot who doesnt associate with the term hipster, its not because they're mainstream tho.

How is this not slav?

Eh, at the very least only one out of those three felt the need to express some form of retarded populist sentiment in their posts. That's already an improvement of sorts.

26, i'm not really old, i'm just past the whole arguing with people online phase that comes when you're an adolescent.

dont worry, it'll come back
also, disregarding any online anonymous opinion that criticizes you or disagrees with you is pretty adolescent in itself

Yeah i'd really should take the calling me a faggot and saying i'm meta-hipster to heart gratuitously.
I'm not saying i wont discuss opinions online, i'm just saying i dont care enough to respond to obvious trolls, if he actually attacked the movies or something i'd like to talk about it but he just called me a faggot and left.

I dont know how you were brought up or if youre new here, but when somebody says something about you in an offensive way which turns out to be somewhat true (like you said) maybe, just maybe you should consider that shit.

Youre not proving anyone right by doing it, because this is anonymous, unless you have deep seeded issues where you cant even admit something to yourself, because, as I said, noone else is gonna know about it.

anyway, youre 26, you obviously have it all figured out and Im a guy who calls people 'faggot' on the internet to epically troll them

Was my favorite movie when I was 22 and used to watch it every night. It's how I got my wife actually, we were in the same group of friends and it came up and she was astounded I could watch more than once, let alone every night to fall asleep, because she watched it once and fell into a deep depression. /blog
