I agree with this wholeheartedly but they apparently save it for specials.
I think the cloud rose ultimately knew Steven was gonna realize she wasn't real and showed that by looking depressed as fuck.
Personally, i think that episode was great, Steven lost his edginess because he could at least be happy hanging out with his missing parent and could let off some steam. Cloud Rose was fantastic though and may be the only reason why i download 1080p for this episode.

Steven was drowned in doubt because of all that came to light about Rose (even though Eyeball is unreliable) The tape Cloud Rose Mentioned was the only light to calm him down and it's from the only fucking thing she recorded to give to him. There really IS no reason to lie to him or even tape a recording like that especially to someone she'd never meet.

Yeah, the fact that they defused everything with like two lines disappointed me too.
