Who the fuck thought kids wanted to listen to the news

Last night I spent a good hour wondering why the hell Nick spent a good amount of 1999 to 2000 trying to push Rosie O'Donnel as some sort of face for the channel.

Like, they had Burger King toys of her and everything but I never watched a single film or television show before that point which she was in.

If you think that's bad, how about the day of play where for an entire day the channel doesn't air shit and they legitimately expect this will convince kids to go outside instead of, you know, changing to another channel.

>Not wanting to watch TMNT2k3 daily

Or play vidya. Like what if its raining? Or a state of emergency?

>>Or a state of emergency?
>That time there actually was a state of emergency

>Turn to nick
>fucking FOP and Spongebob reruns
>Turn to Disney
>Some sugarcoated lame sitcomlive acton fucking sucks, so boring)

Miguzi was a lesser Toonami, but it beat the alternatives.

The shows were still mostly good tho

I remember that shit, execs just think any celeb will work sometimes.

They still do that shit.

Fuck me thats exactly how it was for me. I always remember groaning thatll I'll just have to bare through TMNT which my faggot ass kid self couldnt get into for some reason

Thye had a multi-film contract with her, and if kids liked her they'll go to see films with her.

What was on Miguzi? Code Lyoko and then Totally Spies right? Was Megas Miguzi?

I remember always wanting to know the lore of the sea creatures in Miguzi

>mfw there is no porn of the qt loli host of miguzi except for a handful of unfinished comic sketches

That's pretty odd considering the only films I can recall her being in from that time period were The Flintstones and Tarzan, neither of which were Nickelodeon properties.

How could you not like Miguzi?
Best thing to come home from school, knowing your waifu is waiting for you, though really I could only watch 1 hour because it only lasts until 4 when everyone leaves school at 3. Even sadder that I was only able to experience it for 6 months before it was cancelled. Fucking bullshit

Miguzi was french cartoons William Street/ CN got a hold of

>She is so screwed...And i mean she's gonna get fucked

>not wanting to watch Static Shock
>not wanting to watch TMNT
bad taste kid-user.

The fuck did Miguzi have anyway? All I remember is that French show with the kids that have the fiveheads.

>She is so screwed... and I mean she's gonna get fucked.

Good thing they cleared that up for me otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell what they meant.

I kinda miss Miguzi but I also know full well that it was a literally watered down Toonami that never stood up next to the quality of Toonami in its heydey.

After school programming never did recover after Toonami stopped airing on weekdays. Seriously, it's never been the fucking same.

Totally Spies, TMNT reruns, Megas XLR, and later on Yu-Gi-Oh GX, I think.

>Turn on Nick
>Spongebob reruns
>Turn on Disney
>unfunny tween sitcom with laughtrack
>Turn on CN
>TTG

sadboyz

>they tried to make me pledge to vote democrat when i grow up

I still remember them trying to make Clinton look cool for kids. WB and Simpsons shat on him 24/7 and undid that.

>or CN for bit

Wasn't that shit on CN?

Yeah but I'd like to see what stuff Nickelodeon and Disneyfags wanted to avoid too

Totally spies was the only thing that comes to mind.

Mute the sitcom and whip your dick out, obviously.

>Turn on Nick
>Either Butch Hartman garbage or less often their attempts at still chasing Lizzie McGuire all these years later
>Turn on Disney
>Another failed attempt at recreating Lizzie McGuire
>Turn on CN
>TTG
>Turn on Boomerang
>same as CN instead of old stuff

oh wow...terrible...so bad...unlike today...

All of Miguzi's shit was too anime for me. EEnE and my other favorite shit could never run on a block with fucking Code Lyoko

She was in Harriet the Spy.

Ah yes, who could forget that blockbuster hit

At least she won a Kids' Choice Award for it

>Simultaneous Miguzi, Cartoon Network Friday, and Digimon the Movie threads

Wow Sup Forums is feeling particularly nostalgic for early-mid 2000's tonight

We just had a thread about current CN being shit

We need this

Well duh. Everything got fucked up in fall-winter 2006, so we miss what came before that

When I was a kid(early 2000s), Nick was my "channel of choice", not so much CN or Disney. So when CNfags or Disneyfags share their nostalgia I have little-to-no idea what they're talking about.

Oh come on there must be one show on Nick at that time you hated

Watching mock EAS warnings is a true partician past time

what the fuck was sam goody.

and why is a good sitcom ending a harbinger of anything?

>at still chasing Lizzie McGuire all these years later
What was so great about Lizzie McGuire?

No idea, never watched it myself. But for the time and channel it was a ratings hit. Pretty much every teen/tween sitcom on Disney or Nick can be traced back to that show in one way or another.

Yolk was a fucking ripoff of the Yokians from Jimmy Neutron. I hope the kid that won that fucking character contest got sued out the ass via Viacom's lawyers, because I'm pretty sure my fucking character entry got snuffed because of that shit.

LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN

...

I'm old

I remember when Paula Poundstone hosted the Kids Choice Awards for a few years

>This was a pretty lousy episode.
>Well, ma'am, I'm a pretty lousy president.

The Simpsons laid the foundation for Trump winning. They made everything surrounding the Clintons into a punchline. Who could vote for Hillary after growing up with this shit?

Sam Goody was a popular(for a while) music store

Why would they have a store where everything's free?

well now you know why it closed down

They were at the wrong place at the wrong time. 2005-2010 was a shit time for the music industry as the hipster and indie movements were just starting and the online piracy wave was at its pinnacle.

Right now there's a huge physical media boom with vinyl becoming a viable profitable format again, they probably could make a comeback but as a vinyl seller.

You are one salty motherfucker for something that happened over a decade ago.

It was the 'not quite anime' block

Fuck you nigger. That contest was rigged.

Specifically French imports, Teen Titans, and like one or two actual anime.

But mostly French imports

Teen Titans,Code Lyoko,Megas XLR,Totally Spies,Yu-Gi-Oh GX, TMNT

You people make it sound like these channels were on basic cable.
All i had was disney and cw 4Kids. But what i really liked after school was PBS kids.
Arthur, Clifford, CyberChase; SuperWhy and WordWorld even came out when i was young enough to care. As soon as the grown up shows came on i shut off the TV, did my homework, and played with action figures

But between OPs choices: I,m done with Cartoon Network, given up on Nick, and don't really care for Disney.

Uh, they were on basic cable.

How in the world did you have Disney but not Nick or CN?

I think he's talking about Disney when it used to run on ABC during weekends.

Fuck, that made me remember that my local ABC station only showed the same 4 episodes of Hannah Montana, Suite Life, and That's So Raven, shit made me so god damn mad.

OK

Let's not act like That 70's Show was a great show. While it was definitely decent in the earlier seasons (where you could see they were kind of trying to do something different), it eventually devolved into the typical, run-of-the-mill dramacom that paused way too long for the laugh track.

As a kid, I loved it; even watched the entire series. But a few days ago I tried watching it and literally cringed. My fond memories were covering up how shitty it actually was.

T. Damñ dirty millennial
Yeah! I would switch between that and Kids WB on saturdays.

ABC, I believe it was channel 38 here in Missouri

Not that user, but back around mid 2000s our cable package only had disney channel but not nick or CN. there were times when we got CN as part of some promotional thing but they were rare.

I ended up watching a lot of disney (Kim Possible, Thats So Raven, Even Stevens, even Dave the Barbarian) and Kids WB.

>watched CW4kids as a kid
>doesn't know the difference between basic cable and over-the-air channels
>calls others millennials

I was calling myself millennial, you silly goose. There are other ways to use the signature meme... like as a signature?

Later Malcolm in the Middle wasn't a prize either. Especially that "we treated you like shit so you could one day become President" finale.

That's not how it works, though. If you put it under a link, you're basically using the signature to call that person whatever is in the signature.

>static shock
>teen titans
>2003 tmnt
>code lyoko
>xiaolin showdown
missed out OP

It seems to be trend in these kind of shows. If it lasts too long the writers run out of ideas for character development. Being cut short helps sometimes (for instance, Freaks and Geeks)

Teen Titans came on in other time slots, though. And I believe Static Shock and Xiaolin Showdown appeared on the CW as well.

My mistake, oldfàg. Sorry.
and if you're not then I'm just embarrassed and should probably lurk more

I wonder how many of those long running early 00 sitcoms are still popular nowadays. Malcolm used to be huge, but now it's only known for Bryan Cranston's pre Breaking Bad career and people wondering if Dewey's actor died.

Didn't he make a rap album?

Even Steven was what I turned off. I was deep into cartoons back then. Stayed for the intro then left for something else.
Literally the only live kids shows i liked were Suite Life of Jughead n WTF am i doing on Twitter, and Corey in the house .

Miguzi was more of just a dumping ground for repeats of saturday morning Kids WB shows like Static Shock, Xiaolin Showdown, and the Advanced seasons of Pokemon (CN would only air the original seasons while Miguzi got the newer seasons when they concluded on Kids WB). TMNT was FoxBox but it was pretty much just a way to see saturday morning cartoons daily like said. It was still the best thing on for that timeslot when you compare the states of Nickelodeon and Disney at the time.

>Corey in the House
>kids anime

See, that's how I know you haven't even watched that shit. A huge amount of scenes from assorted episodes had to be cut from American broadcastings just from how brutal and sexual they could be. Even the stuff that WAS ok'd could be Berserk-tier.

Why don't you actually watch the shit you post about?

Not that much of a problem. There were really only a handful of decent shows on disney at the time so it was just alternating between nick and cn

that finale was GOAT though.

that president stuff made me feel all kinds of things.

i actually stopped watching disney channel before cory in the house came out.

we got cable that included the other channels and i started watching a lot of cartoon network.

This shit is kind of what made me stop watching cartoons and finding other ways to spend my time till something like Adult Swim came on.

When we got cable i switched to Teen Nick. Drake and Josh, Neds Declassified, Lizzie Maguire, and then iCarly.... yea... i mostly liked Dan "I see her there and i stare" Schneider in early 2000's. I fell in love with Cosgrove by watching Chad and Ultimate SpiderMan.
Sup Forums wise i would watch spongebob, fop, Jimmy Neutron, anything Ninja Turtles, Chowder/Flapjack, and i wanted to watch Total Drama Island but it was too raunchy.

I didn't care for it but I feel it got a lot of unwarranted hate and unfairly withered in toonami's shadow.
if you want to really talk about channel changing, try fried dynamite or the price is right.

Anytime Bakugan or any show from Canada or dubbed in Canada came on I knew it was time to change the channel.
Totally Spies was the exception though, Alex was my first waifu

>Megas XLR
>Terrible

which was worse?
2016 or 2006

I remember Harriet the spy being pretty big for a few years and she was the main adult support character in that

Hilary Duff.

Christ shut the fuck up

Well I don't know user, I think she's pretty cute

I don't even remember Megas XLR on Miguzi. I remember Megas being on Toonami from mid '04 to early '05 and after that it was completely gone without a trace. Don't remember any reruns at all actually. If it was on Miguzi it must of been on for like a week or it was more common outside the US.

HEEEY THERE EVERYBODY IT'S A LOONEYFUL DAY!

They advertised the news stories all week and not once did something ever sound interesting

Immediately changed the channel the first time that happened and checked every 4 or 5hrs, I had a week if school I wanted to unwind from so like 8am Saturday morning I'm not going go run around for 24hrs. The next year all I thought was "are you fucking kidding me? Again" & never changed back all weekend

>how about the day of play where for an entire day the channel doesn't air shit
>tfw they did that on my birthday one year and it was raining outside
fuck you nick, I'm watching Cartoon Network

>yfw her sex scene

t was Diary of a Wimpy Kid before the books came out. The way it intergrated live action by making the cartoon her personified feelings and thoughts.
The last show that dared to do this was that one Cartoon Network show... forgot the name but it had a stupid alligator in it

Do any of these channels still even get wrapped up in this whole "Get out and get active instead of watching us" thing?

Serious question. I have no idea.

>turn to Cartoon Network
>Baby Looney Tunes is on

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies were something else to change the channel on, why was Cartoon Network constantly airing them were they just cheap to air or something? Now Nick and Disney Channel play them.
Also the thing you're think about is Reanimated, user. I remember watching it just because I was attracted to Tinashe.
