DUDE

Hated it

WEED

One of the few movies I can say I legitimately hated. It's everything wrong with the current film industry.

>didn't get nominated for an Oscar
Why?

I didn't laugh.

The movie is only funny if you never been on Newgrounds as a teen. I would have loved this movie if I was still in highschool.

Team America is a better adult animated comedy.

LMAO

What spawned this meme anyway? Pineapple Express?

Seth Rogan in general. His humor is literally "I smoke weed, ahuhuhuhuh"

Remember when this was all over Sup Forums half a year ?

...

*ago

Fun as hell when I saw it in the cinema, really boring when I watched it at home.

I enjoyed it in theatres.. Probably because everyone else was too.. When I watched it at home eventually.. It's... It's pretty bad

I still remember Sup Forums's reaction to the orgy.

I'm going to say most people here are for hate.

It was meh to me

I don't entirely get what the big deal was about that. Was it just too long or something?

Somebody just post a pic of the condom character already

The used condom scene gave me a boner

I thought it was somewhat okay. But I will continue to say that Douche was the best villain I saw in a Sup Forums movie last year.

He was undoubtedly the best part.

I'm incapable of expressing how much I despise every "actor" in that greentext.

DUDE WEED LMAO

literally the entire joke was "dude sex lmao"

It was okay.

Genius on their end marketing wise, being the first adult 3D animated comedy.
Story wise was okay, though they used curseword like a high schooler just fitting them in wherever they could.

I didn't hate it, but I was in no rush to praise or promote it.

As a Christian I'm compelled to dislike it.

Then the movie has done it's job.

As an Atheist I'm compelled to agree with you on this.

>Sausage Party thread
>Literally every post does not have at least one "Fuck" in it
Delete this fucking thread and start it the fuck over. This shit doesn't fucking fly. Fucking get it right next time.

The orgy was funny at first but the joke about "hurr durr food porn" ended by minute 3.

>Budget: $19 million
And this was the best they could do?

Too much baggage with the animators being treated like shit.

Also they won't watch it anyway so why bother.

I guess cgi food engaging in anal sex isn't Oscar worthy.

you just fell into this movies trap, im a christain and i wasn't offended because it was /r/athiest level "trolling"

Its actually a bit larger or was supposed to be till they went maximum jew on the animators.

animation was pretty great.

$19 million is chump change for an animated movie, especially one that looks as good as this movie did.
It's the main supporting evidence to the animators getting abused.

This didn't even deserve a nomination and I wonder why people want it to get nominated.

Even Finding Dory and Your Name. - Kimi no Na wa. deserved that nomination more.

Seth Rogan has openly admitted he is a weed 'addict' and cannot do anything without first being high. He admits he has no creativity at all and NEEDS to be high to function as a human being. Because of this none of his shit is funny unless you're completely fucked up, at which point everything is funny so who cares what you're watching.

imagain being code-dependent on fucking weed lmao

it was painfully not funny

Shock humor requires you to be shocked and then find that funny. This is the Internet, so we've seen much more shocking before. We came into this expecting shock. We got shock and didn't laugh.

Shock humor requires a bit of surprise. There's a Winnie the Pooh thread going on somewhere and people are shocked and enjoying those because Pooh, who you expect to be this pleasant, dumb bear whose naivety occasionally gives him some wise insight, says and does some awfully mean-spirited thing. That's funny.

If you go into a cartoon that's all about offense, then it's really just banking on people's preconceived notions of what a cartoon is in order to subvert anything. We're all manchildren here, we already love cartoons and we spend our days being edgy little shits, so we don't find it all that funny. It ends up feeling like an old Newgrounds flash, like mentioned.

Paradoxically, I bet a lot of our parents would love this film if they didn't outright refuse to watch it. If you think of the film in terms of "surely they wouldn't go THAT far" you'll be surprised and laugh more often when they do in fact go that far.

Still, here's a CGI-animated film that in no way can be interpreted as a movie designed for children. It can be childish in its humor, not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it does have all these bad things cartoons aren't supposed to have if they want to be successful and it was successful. You don't have to like the movie to like the point it's made about animation being more versatile than it's given credit for in the west.

Superbad was pretty good tho.

Had some funny moments honestly, especially with Douche. What really made it suck is the overly hamfisted religion moral and they try so hard to be edgy and adult instead of just letting the humor come naturally.

If it was PG-13, removed the Jew/Muslim and Lesbian taco characters to tone down the more blunt religion analogies and focused more on making food puns it could've been a great movie.

>done it's job
hi's
her's

WHY IT LOOKS LIKE POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS DON'T GET APOSTROPHES NOW DOESN'T IT

>$19 million is a lot
Delgo and Foodfight would argue that the movie looks amazing for $19mil

Prolly cause they didn't use the budget to pay anyone.

Nick Kroll may be a painfully unfunny cunt, but this was probably his best role

I agree on most of them, Danny McBride is awesome though. Eastbound and Down is hilarious and Vice Principals is good so far too. Also Craig Robinson seems like a nice enough dude although I don't find him especially funny.

The movie was full of really good parts so I'm not sure why I disliked it. Seth Rogan's part felt a bit too plasticene and preachy.

>i'm not one of those lame christians, i'm a cool christian, i laugh about blasphemy and the portrayal of things my faith tells me are serious sins

This is a bad side to be on. If you're right about Christianity being true, God will be unhappy with you, all because you wanted to look cool. If you're wrong and there is no God your religion will have been a waste of time. Either way, you lose.

I loved the animation and concept. Opening song was fun. Everything to do with the voice acting and writing irked me.

>Writers clearly didn't have an ending it mind once they got their "Fuck Religion, have hope" message
>Proceed to kill humans after getting them drugged
>Orgy
>DUDE ITS A CARTOON
>Stargate! Where they go to the "real" world where they won't be able to do what they did to the cartoon humans and likely rot.

Seth Rogan jumped the shark with that beer commercial with Amy Schumer about how women are paid 75 cents for every dollar a man makes.

I liked some of the designs they've had for the eyes and characters, but it could've been better. Here's hoping someone could do another R rated animated comedy better in the future!

Is it bad that I've thought about doing a knock off version of this with better writing, characters, and humor? I've thought a bit about the story and mocking the idea of everything being alive.

youtube.com/watch?v=N3cgHfZJEOA

Remember when people swore up and down that this movie was going to usher in glorious new era of mature R-rated animation? Like not even dick and weed comedy, but legitimately mature dramatic animation?

This.

The movie at large is abysmal, bu Douche is brilliant.

>let's argue till the end.
do we have to? the end was the worst part

My mum sorta liked it

Best part about the movie was the anticipation for it and reading the script with the rest of Sup Forums.

Movie itself was pretty meh

I saw it as a camrip and it was pretty bad.
5/10

Thought it was okay. The message was a bit too in your face.

I do like that it was a mainstream animated feature aimed at adults though. Hopefully this'll be a trend.

>let's argue till the end
nah I'm just gonna hide your thread

>Sup Forums says its shit and the worst
>made 140 million of its 19 million budget its money back

yup this is what failure looks like

also fuck you I loved it

...

No, that's what mediocrity looks like.

Profit =\= Quality movie
Just ask Ice Age and Transformer sequels.

>No, that's what mediocrity looks like.

mediocrity doesnt sell, what are you talking about

SPOOOOOOGE

i like pineapple express and im a teetotaler

Nick Kroll is like Sarah Silverman, they are only good in stuff they had no hand in writing.

tell that to Dreamworks and Illumination

He was genuinely the only funny character in my opinion, and his humour/voice acting was a cut above the rest in terms of quality and entertainment value.

More puerile garbage produced from the mind of that turbokike Seth Rogan.

His movies almost make wish I could give him a one way train ticket to Auschwitz.

DUDE JEWS BOOGEYMAN IRONIC RACISM LMAO

Threadly reminder that this shit is literally Una Pelicula de Huevos but with more gore, swearing and sex jokes because Americans can't thing anything is funny and mature unless it has a fucking "fuck" between every fucking word. Fuck.

yeah and Zootopia is just Cats don't dance without the singing and Sing is just Cats don't dance without the racism
At least this time americans ripped off a movie no one gave a shit about in the first place

No seriously.

There a lot of indy films which are compositionally better than Rogen's, and yet none of them will ever be successful due to the fact that

A.) He's a jew
B.) He's in hollywood

agreed

Mediocrity is the only way to sell, what are you talking about? Well, that and getting lucky.

Once you see that shit, it'll fuck you up for life.

His movies make money. People like them and want to see his work. Don't get mad Nazi guy I'm sure you could make much better movies the some guy who gets high all the time.

Just finished it and what the fuck.

which food u wanna fuk

Everyone said it was a step in the right direction for adult oriented animation

Turns out that was a load of shit just like the movie, and if it did anything it put us a lot more than a step back.

I hate his laugh so much.

That's a pretty terrible argument, Rogen.
Not that I'd expect anything better from a hack.

"People who disagree are obviously the person i'm making fun of.Everyone in the world share my hateboner for this inidvidual"

It's getting a sequel dumbfucks, bringing the grand total of R-rated animated comedies released by a major studio in the past decade to two.

Eh Fritz the Cat wasn't all that good,
But it was memorable for being the new unique concept and helped bring more movies like it.

So there's a decent chance Sausage Party will do the same.

Like most adult animated movies Fritz the Cat was based on another media, so was the Beavis and Butthead movie, the South Park movie and so on

I wouldn't mind more animated movies for adults that are just animated movies, edgy or not, no one is forcing you to watch them anyway

I already forgot that existed.

> im a christain and i wasn't offended because it was /r/athiest level "trolling"
Do you just brush off all valid criticism of your retarded religion as being /r/athiest?

You're basically participating in the worlds largest death cult.

Dude no. Its just proving to people everywhere that animation is for dumb immature idiots. Its nothing but an 11 year old's version of what an R rated movie would be. When people want an R rated animation they want something like Jin Roh wolf brigade. Something that looks and exists in a mature universe. This movie is rated R but it isn't mature. Its not going to impress anyone enough to think of it as a trend that could be followed, its only an outlier that should be ignored.

It was better than I was expecting. It was nicely animated, the song at the start was nice and I liked how a lot of the characters looked but good god the buns looked atrocious. Why were their lips sideways? I'd fucking kill the main bun.
The religion message got really old really fast and the best part about the whole movie was Douche. Orgy was awful and was far too long but the gateway to the real world bullshit at the end absolutely fucking blew.

The Omaha Beach scene gives me a chuckle, but the entire movie felt like it could've been a 10-15 minute short and been about as entertaining, if not moreso.
