Why do you think normies don't like Tom King's Run? I mean, Sup Forums doesn't like it because, that's what we do, but with the casuals, is it just that he's following a popular run?

Probably, plus you know the man loves his talking scenes way too much,Snyder had the narration addiction but had capullo art to cover it with action.Kings run really lacks any decent fights or action to keep normies interested at all

You didn't like the, Batman tearing his way through a legion of Bane's men to get to the throne room, thing?

> Mikel Janin's awful art
I'll pass

I hate you

Lol, my bad

I found the other day if you actually read all of I Am Suicide in one go it's really good. It's definitely not meant to be read monthly. I think a decade form now it'll be regarded as one of the best Batman graphic novels.

Obviously we're not far enough into I Am Bane to see if he's changing that but the way he wrote #16 seems more conducive to serialized storytelling.

Also Tom King has gotten really hyped up by fans, so casuals might be expecting to get MINDBLOWN by the first issue or some shit, which is literally the exact same reaction they had to Morrison's run at first.

Finally, King's writing is very cerebral and psychological, heavy on internal dialogue juxtaposed with violence and action. Though that works well for Batman, it doesn't work well for casuals who want something more straightforward like the previous run or like Detective Comics.

Everyone knows Vision and Omega Man weren't exactly popular with casuals and the rest of the standard comic-reading audience, so it might seem strange that DC would choose him for their flagship series. But the idea is that King's books will make excellent graphic novels that will continue to be sold and recommended to people for years to come.

>Mikel Janin's awful art
>awful art
>art
You're more forgiving than I am: it's just rendered out Poser and 3D models + photoshop (although, to be fair, he seems to be putting more effort into things than he used to. Justice League Dark and image related from Grayson were inexcusable).

Plus Snyder's loads of narration could pass as "deep" writing for someone who's not too knowledgeable on previous batman runs, even when it's not. And that's coming from someone who liked his run and tought his prose was nice.

>very cerebral and psychological
Yes. Clearly 3Deep5me all up in this bitch.

The Superman stuff was also a special kind of bad. Superman looked like a model dragged over a background

Being cerebral doesn't equate to being deep.

don't just apologize, post the original, you moron.

If I had both why would I have posted the thumbnail.

You misspelled "autistic."

King's run has a bunch of singular great moments, especially in terms of characterization, but a pretty weak overall narrative. Maybe it'll all come together better in the end, but as of now it's pretty flat and uninteresting. And some of the dialogue just feels weird and stilted half the time. It's kind of weird.

> dialogue just feels weird and stilted half the time

I feel like King as a writer has structure and craft down, especially in terms of telling a story in a visual medium. But I've never actually enjoyed anything he's written

I like cutting my burger in half and eating it in 2 separate parts. Fucking shoot me.

Truth be told I do think that the opening and I am Gotham were pretty tonally dissonant with whats come after, but I really liked the 2016 trilogy. Sometimes I think the main book is cursed

...

I stuck with it up until the Catwoman snoozefest.

I just don't like reading my comics with a magnifying glass, is all.

Just give me the Robins book DC. I'm far more interested in whats happening in the background with Jason and Damian than Bruce's sperging out for the 100th time

Is that an image for ants?

>King's run has a bunch of singular great moments,
This is true. If you just post something like image related or the Kite-Man, HELL YEAH! page people get hyped and ask where it came from so they can check it out.

Then they get angry and/or disappointed because the fun stuff is greatly outweighed by the tedious repetition and the nonsensical, like Catwoman ( taking the blame for ) killing over 200 people or whatever.

The tone is also all over the place: the Rebirth issue reads like a horror comic with extra creepy Calendar Man where Kite-Man reads more like Grayson and Batburger is so far into self parody that it's been past it twice.

King's Batman is utter garbage. It's like babby's first Batman for people coming off the Nolan movies. Tomasi in 'tec is so much better.

Tynion writes Tec you idiot

Tec fans, don't even know the name of their book's writer

The only kind of people that like 'Tec are the kind of people that are unironically fans of characters like Batwoman or Stephanie Brown. Basically people who don't have opinions worth listening to.

Gladly, but before I do which one?imgur.com/a/oeIuk

That Burger should explode the way he's holding it there.

if your burger's big enough that's perfectly acceptable. if you're talking about McDonald's sized shit, you are a coward

Five Guys is for socialists while In-N-Out respects the right of choice given to us by the Constitution

It's just dull as hell. We're suddenly supposed to take Bane seriously after we spent several issues seeing him naked and getting high in his man cave.

>have Robins 1, 2, and 4 job
>so totally-not-Supergirl can save the day and fuck the black dude

Screw that
