How about by making him, y'know, THOR again and offing cancer-tits?
Just for starters?

It doesn't help that his movies have been pretty shit and haven't really used any of the cool stuff from any of his stories.

The Comic is a much sanitized and politically correct version of the myth it's based off of.

>how can we fix it?
Let's make prank phone calls!

Hercules is so much better

Isn't Thor very confusing?

why?

His movies were shit.

Thor is supposed to be a god but rarely ever acts like one, even in the comics. Constant jobbing, nerfing, dishonoring and attempts to put him in street level stories go against his strengths.

Make his hair red

The god or alien, is it magic or is it alien tech thing.

Thor was doing alright until they thought they would shake thing up in the late 90's y adding unnecessary angst by having him become an asshole and Odin hated him a whole lot. Then the Asgard stuff was removed or made into enemies and Thor was some kind of weird rebel type.

Then that did not work so he was killed off for a while in the 00's and he has never really risen to popularity again since returning.

God, Magitek (Kirby liked making magic and science indistinguishable, which the movies shittily referenced with "they are one and the same).

Thor within the context of the Marvel Universe should have Superman level status as a hero, he's the chosen guardian of Midgard and the champion of humanity. The earth is his sacred realm, he shouldn't be some distant ancillary figure representing an alien people, he should be rooted in the earth and the history or mankind. He only makes sense in relation to the other heroes if he stands at a higher, more central position of leadership and authority

Its all about the porn he's not popular in the porn world unlike Cap and bucky

Basically make more porn of him

Just watch Earth's Mightiest Heroes for Thor and forget that he exists outside of it.

BECAUSE HE'S A FUCKING WHITE MALE!!

it always confused me why he never was really a leader even though he has the most experience

How is he unpopular? He's not Iron Man but that was all RDJ magic. He is one of the biggest names in Marvel. And he had the most expansive mythos of ANY of the heros, the whole 9 realms have been developed to a point that rivals or beats the Green Lanterns mythos.

cause he isn't human and understands that humanity should lead itself. He doesn't take his 9 realms morals to earth, in the 9 realms he kills everything, if it's a battle he is willing to kill. On earth, the Avengers have a 'no kill' policy so he lets them lead by that. There have been a few times where he thinks the rule is BS because of outside interferance, but basically he lets humans make the rules. He is a GOD, but he isn't nessicarily THEIR god

They made shitty movies to him and cut him out of most of Age of Ultron

>Thor 1: Take out the reincarnation epic plot and made it a shitty romatic comedy mixed with Hercules in New York
>Thor 2: Nordic shit is boring LOL, let's send him back to earth to fight generic aliens

Iron Man would be as unpopular as he is today if all his movies sucked

We fix him by replacing him

His only good adaptation was in Earths mightiest Heroes which got cancelled, his bland boring joke character in the movies and cartoons have ruined a lot of his appeal to casuals

if they fuck up thor 3 I'll be so mad

Thor was great in EMH and I've come to love him because of that show.

I think the movies really fucked up by making him a gag one-liner character half the time. He doesn't command respect. Also, no helmet makes his design a lot less unique

I honestly only like the MCU version of him with Chris Hemsworth. Every other incarnation of him is just hammy and cringe inducing.

Team Thor: The Sitcom

This is actually very cringeworthy and borderline desperate

that's kinda dumb
he should just man up and take charge

He did that once. It didn't go so well.

user, have you ever read a Thor comic? Fucker talks like he's out of Shapespeare, of course he's hammy.

better than the movies

Stop fucking around with the canon and make him a redhead again.

>>Norsefags still butthurt about Kirby fixing there meme legends

Give him hairier, heart shaped nipples and have his cape be made out of the severed penises of all his villains.

It also doesn't work because it goes against the fundamentals of Thor's role in his pantheon. Thor was a brash and temperamental God. He wasn't a God who'd direct you in battle, he was the God you'd ask for protection from when you were starting a bar-brawl. The professional soldiers(closest thing to superheroes) prayed to Tyr for guidance and protection or to Odin for the wisdom to plan the assault.

It's one of the few parts they've kept from the original figure they adapted. He's not a leader, he's a brawler.

That has some sense but I don't like it. Thor should leads.

>redhead comic character
Do you mean a nigger?

Reminder that there are as many redheads in the world as there are transsexuals.

Reminder that people will remind you that trannies are a tiny minority if you suggest a character should be one but they won't say the same for redheads despite it being equally true.

Make Thor a redheaded tranny.

Do it you fucking faggot.

>having Thor muscling in on Loki's patch

What's next, giving him one eye? Having one of his hands bitten off by Fenrir?

>Mercenaries praying to Tyr for protection instead of Thor or Freyr
>people praying to Odin at all

I'll give you a 5 dollar gift certificate for your favorite wiccan shop to fuck off.

Replace him with Jane Foster Thor in the MCU, that will get Thor popular, and redirect movie casuals to the current Thor (Jane) comic

Wait, could we dye Jane's hair red and give her a dick? Then Thor would be a tranny

Because there is no way Jane Thor is going to fail, right? It will be a success just like fem Ghostbusters!

It's Marvel, so group the normies who see every marvel movie cus its marvel + feminist rejects who only see it just its womyn hero, yes it would do okay, way better than ghostbusters

Because shitty movies didn't have the kickass theme song from the 60s youtube.com/watch?v=M9UgWyGB3vc

His comic lore is confusing and his movies are really bland.

Thor comics needs to go full D&D.

>implying the actual leaders of battles wouldn't pray to Odin in his form as God of War and see him as their patron god since he's the leader of gods as they are the leaders
>implying Thor was in any way a war god
>praying to a Vanir fertility god when you've got the new and improved Aesir god of heroism

Freyr was portrayed with a big dick. Thor had thunder and brute strength as well as a big dick as he was so popular that he kept getting more and more powers. Tyr had an actual sword and we've got evidence that people inscribed their swords with his rune to give it strength. Take a wild guess which one was the god of warriors.

If anything it's those Wiccan Asatru cunts who over-represent Thor's powers because they've only heard of him and Odin.

>Believing we know everything about the unrecorded religion of a culture thanks to 5 lines of poetry
>Thinking those people had the same world view as we did

Also gods oversaw many fields they werent limited to one or two. Please stop being a dumbfuck and read some proper material instead of comics if you want to start talking about the real religion.

>enter Hercules
Oh my

well, yeah, this episode was the direct adaptation of the issue where Hercules appeared

His movies spend too much time on Earth and don't let Thor be a magic space viking. Also they need to bring back how powerful he was in the first movie, taking down cities with a single blow.

In the comics there is no confusion, he's a god, and it's magic.

They've tried that, and it was great.

>we can't know everything about the religion
>so Thor was the god of war despite the few things we DO know telling us he wasn't, because I feel like he should be worshipped by warriors in battle like in my comics

Nothing that I've mentioned has come from comics, user. You should try to actually argue your point instead of just saying that I'm a wiccan or comic-reader. And I know the gods oversaw many fields. Hence why I mentioned one of Odin's aspects being a god of war and Thor being the god of both lightning and strength among several aspects, as he had more attributes added as his popularity grew. But one of Thor's prominent aspects was not as a warrior god, and neither was Freyr. Some farmers might have called for his protection in battle because as the god of thunder and rain he was the most important to their everyday lives but that does not mean he overall worshipped in the capacity of a leader in battle. If the religion hadn't been overtaken by christianity Thor might have ended up the god of war or the father of the gods gauging by his mounting popularity, but he hadn't gotten there yet when his followers abandoned him for Christ.

>a nun hot and ready to cheat on her husband with a younger and hotter god

Delicious.

>implying vikings didn't pray to the god of strength before a fight
Negro what? Tyr and Odin were war gods, but a fight=/=a war.

They did pray to him. For strength. Not for guidance. My original point was that Thor does not fit as the leader of the Avengers because that's not the part he played in the pantheon. You don't ask Thor to show you how to defeat your enemy, you ask Thor to give you the strength to do it, just as you asked Tyr for the strength to be heroic and Odin for the wisdom to defeat your opponent, while asking all of them for protection.

>>people praying to Odin at all
The All Father was prayed to you casual

And yet a huge part of his story in the comics is Odin grooming him to rule, and all future Thors are kings of Asgard, even if it's only a few hundred years from now. That's like saying someone's not fit to lead a student council now, but in a week they can be President.

what is oral tradition

In God-years Thor is just starting to mature, with us having witnessed his recent maturation across the entire span of his comics line. Depending on the writer he slips back into his adolescent phase of being a dumbass brawler, as well. Yes in a few hundred or thousand years he's supposed to take Odin's place and rule Asgard. But that doesn't mean that he's better at leading the Avengers in battle than Captain America right now, because leading people in battle is pretty much Cap's second superpower after having lead so many men into battle while Thor was just running into battle next to other men. Nor is he better at leading the avengers in human politics because he's not of earth.

When the Avengers formed he was most definitely not the leader he is today because at his inception he was the brash and violent Thor. So all in all there's nothing strange about Thor not leading the Avengers or some other team.
