>One/all but one of the characters run off at the first sign of trouble.
>They're not seen or mentioned again until the next episode.

>Character goes on a crazy rant
>The shot starts to slowly shift/distant instruments, such as beating drums or bagpipes, start to grow louder

>soothing classical music to emphasize the tragedy of the slow-motion shot of something being accidentally destroyed

>Underdog hero has an unorthodox skillset, allowing them to take on much stronger enemies as they can't predict the strategy
>Hero seems to be about to shoot villain, instead shoots object behind them to bring down their entire plan
>Hero incorporates goofy quirks into strategy or fighting style
>Characters imitate each other, bonus points if it's to trick villain

>Normal character has a past full of serious legal issues
>Plays it cool while their friends get creeped out by that

>someone does something fantastical in public
>nobody pays much attention
something i find hilarious about it

>the heroes go to a parallel dimension where good guys and bad guys are reversed

>character's meet the evil versions of themselves

>someone does something completely mundane in slow-mo and accompanied by bombastic music

>Fat character, "I'm not that fat!"
>Friends throw some stuff at him and the stuff starts to orbit around him

>>Hero seems to be about to shoot villain, instead shoots object behind them to bring down their entire plan
>"You missed."
>"Did I?

I like that, but I prefer

>"Get out of the way"

>Metaphors used unexpectedly in a literal sense

>"The business hit a wall, went up in smoke, and then went under."
>"Why are you talking in metaphors?"
>"I'm not. I crashed the van into a wall, it burst into flames, and then I had to drive it into a river."

>X and Y get in a situation or place where they can fuck.
>this is most conceivable if there a time skip ignoring them for a while.

Family Guy tier

>scene starts with characters watching TV
>something funny happens on the TV

Remember to cite your sources people!

>Character has horrible parent
>Character finds our parent is dying
>Despite themselves Charcter goes to visit parent
>Parent admits they are a fuck up and asks for Character's forgiveness
>Charcter forgives them moments before Parent die

I'm a sucker for melodrama

"Okay, I don't like you, and you don't like me."

"I like you."

>character mentions how annoying a trait is from a new character
>said character gets called out on actually living by that same trait
>everyone else agrees
>character gets mad but cannot deny it
bonus points if its a girl

>Cat and dog wage war against each other

>Character calls out abusive parent/guardian
>You'll be dead soon, and I won't miss you

Fuckin Butters.

>It's a multiverse/time travel episode where the characters see all sorts of crazy what-if scenarios/alternate versions of themselves

>Fat character gets [TRIGGERED] if anyone calls him fat and his allies use that to push the villains to call him fat to his face and send him into full berserk mode

I love this one

>Bonus points
>show has an douchebag character
>show does this plot
>parallel version of douchebag is the nicest guy ever to the point where the characters prefer parallel douchebag to own universe's douchebag
>douchebag has to trick them into keeping him

>it's a parody of an actual TV show
>the parody show is used as a running gag through the series

>Character is getting nervous
>Other character shuts them up with a kiss

>when a show subverts a trope you don't like in a way that isn't in your face and is actually subtly funny

Character looks directly at camera and breaks forth wall

>Character takes the shot
>Seems to miss
>'Target" gets smug as fuck
>They were really aiming for some item in the background and the smug guy is immediately BTFO.

>Think show's heading toward predictable cliche/going to take the easy way out
>It doesn't

End of Time is groovy as fuck.

>Character takes the shot
>Seems to miss
>'Target" gets smug as fuck
>BOOMERANGS, BITCH!

>Both protagonist and antagonist fight not because they want to stop the other but because they enjoy fighting as equals

>It's a tournament arc

>Character gives a grand, impassioned speech
>shot pans to reveal he hasn't been talking to anyone

>When a show makes a female character do something wrong unintentionally which sets off plot and people on Sup Forums get triggered when she doesn't grovel for forgiveness on-screen and bitch about her endlessly.

Nice try Mabes.

Causing the apocalypse, even unintentionally, is something that definitely fucking warrants groveling for forgiveness for.

Hi Alex

>Entire episode is from the point of view of/focuses on the villain instead of the protagonists
Always the best.
youtube.com/watch?v=T5T1W0CWmfc

Those are fun

Oh man is that great. Star vs did that to me recently(ish)

>watching show
>think it's going to do 'super predictable trope conclusion'
>think "I wish they'd do x y z instead but it's way too dark for this sort of show"
>show subverts trope and goes in the exact direction you wanted

youtube.com/watch?v=_fFHtj2ut4Y
not Sup Forums but still the best

>"Everybody act natural!"

>one guy starts eating grass and mooing

>character doing something hysterical
>bgm and/or starts to play
>character shush the one who turns out to be source of the sound

Meta tropes like this always gets me

>and/or sfx

my bad

Ah, my favorite trope is when the asshole who is depressed is treated like an asshole by everyone around them. I mean, it's why I can't stand any of Rick and Morty's 'depressed Rick' stuff while I could easily watch Moral Orel and Bojack Horseman stuff for hours.

>comedy of errors/evil twin episode
>alter personality is just the main character with a shitty beard, or a sash, or something
>MC insists he doesn't know what's going on
>shit escalates, but they come to terms at end
>at the last second, alter ego/evil twin shows up
>"Oh hey guys. What'd I miss?"

>conflict culminating in seemingly-impossible checkmate scenario
>end episode abruptly
>next episode doesn't pick up on it
>event becomes an in-joke shoved in as many future episodes as possible without explaining how they got out of it

too bad I can't name a single one

TTG sort of did something like that. They announced Slade would be going to be in an episode. Come that episode they build up Slade and then skip to the Titans celebrating.

>For whatever reason character starts careening off of things
>The things they bounce off of light up like pinball bumpers even if there is no way for them to be able to do that

>protagonists disguise as each other doing dialect impressions and all to confuse the villains

>protagonists need to disguise themselves
>one protag's disguise is laughably poor, like with a groucho marx fake moustache and shit
>the villain sees through every disguise but his, and invites him into his confidence, thoroughly convinced by the terrible disguise

So... you like this?

10x better when they make a special villain themed intro

With a top down view making the entire scene looking like a pinball table.

>It's shonen shit

>Character falls
>The fall lasts way longer than it logically should

>It's a everyone thinks the apocalypse's coming episode

fuckin' this

>God strikes a blasphemer with lightning

...

>Guy and girl always at each other's throats throughout the series.
>Guy saves girl from trouble/certain death because either he has to or because he could
>Girl develops a crush but keeps it hidden
>Girl starts to act differently around guy; activly trying to piss him off or get in his business so she can interact with him more
>Something serious happens and girl finally admits liking the guy
>Guy and girl start to become a couple

I liked Jimmy and Cindy's relationship near the last few seasons because of this trope

Also
>MC and Main antagonist are always fighting
>New antagonist is after MC and is a bigger threat than old antagonist was.
>MC is about to lose to New antagonist when old antagonist shows up
>"If anyone is going to kill you, it will be me. Besides, I have this guy more than i hate you"
>MC and old villain team up to fight big bad

>something amazing is happening
>a character observes in awe
>"Lord don't strike me blind now"
>lightning strikes him
>when the flash is over he's left with black glasses and white cane

>Secondary villain takes down good guy from the back while he's fighting main antagonist
>Main antagonist is fucking pissed and saves the good guy by stopping backstabbing villain from dealing the finishing blow because I was fighting him you faggot

...

Parent was faking death the whole time
Parent leaves character out of their will
Parent takes character with them in the end

>character wears a poorly made disguise
>totally fools everyone around them, even the characters who typically see through their ploys.

>Bodyswap episode
>Their voices swap too

>the heroes go to a parallel dimension where good guys and bad guys are reversed
>one of the evil/good counterparts is literally the same as the normal character but with a goatee

>One guy pretends to be a tree to avoid being spotted
>He just picks up two twigs and stands still with arms outstretched
>It works

>Characters have to hide quickly
>They contort their bodies to perfectly match the form of random objects in the room and hide behind them

>Character needs to hide
>Jumps inside a painting and becomes a part of it
>Bonus points if he/she replaces a key figure in the painting

>character says/does something completely messed up
>"haha nice one. whats the real plan?"
>"oh...uh...yeah"

>underdog does amazing thing
>girl who cucked him wants him back
>tells her to fuck off

>characters who dont get along come to an understanding
>bonus if hero and villain

and the best
>broken burd learns to find joy again

Joseph Joestar?

You a One Piece fan by chance?

>villain is a mundane human
>pisses off the normally calm and in control metahuman protagonist to the point of getting a superpowered beatdown

I need more of this

>Final episode starts without intro
>Intro theme plays either during the final battle or good ending

>MC is in a compromising situation/accused of something terrible/is lied about in some way
>friends, family and love interests dont believe them
>MC suffers
>truth comes out
>regret and suffering for all!

I love this trope so much, and i dont know why

>Character lies about something and it looks like everyone's fallen for it for the entire episode
>At the end of the episode it turns out everyone knew he was lying but were just humoring him

One of my favorite gag is when something is happening in the background while other characters don't notice it.

>"No shut up, I'm not doing the thing"
>cut
>"I did the thing"

>It's a side character episode of what happens when the main characters are gone

>It's a food episode

>character is portrayed as dumb/lazy but is actually quite intelligent when the circumstances are right
>does this on purpose because its more fun than being practical

>weak character with useless powers turns out to be very powerful and a legitimate threat

>It's backstory episode on why the plot happened in the previous episode

>Tiny old man/woman that looks a bajillion years old and about to keel over and die at the slightest breeze is actually a badass martials arts expert that swiftly kicks anyone's butt if they disrespect them

That happens to be my least favourite trope. I prefer if every episode except maybe the first or recap eps begins with the intro and finishes with the outro + next ep preview.

>It's a lore episode where they reveal how the universe came to be
>It goes full meta and implies the real life show creators/artists/writers are the Gods of the universe

>Seemingly OP powers are weak
>Mundane abilities are God tier

>the villain finally pushes the hero over the edge
>the hero gets pissed and starts wrecking the shit out of the villain's minions
>the villain actually gets scared of the hero after seeing what they're capable of
>the villain stands over the massacre they've committed and stares at the main villain with fire in their eyes
>"your'e next"

I legit cum at the line "your'e next" in any context.

>weak character who keeps jobbing gets the hottest girl in the series
