"Life is short" seems like a terrible tagline for a video game console... it should be like "life is pretty fucking long, so you can play some video games every now and then and not waste your life away"
What the fuck was marketing department thinking when doing it. Even better, how was it greenlighted?
I always wonder about this things - huge corporations are strict as fuck when it comes to numbers, budget etc. yet somehow stuffl ike this manages to slip out. Not that it's bad, I'm just curious how you can greenlight and spend money on something that isn't suitable for your product from the get-go.
they forgot to add "die for Israel"
Based Sony topped them. Even fucking Lynch directed an ad for best console ever.

Late 90s/early 2000s were a bit different in terms of marketing. "Weird and off-color" were in vogue but had not yet been mastered. This commercial was likely pitched as a dark but relatable joke with a ton of motion and action to entice young male viewers. Something was lost in translation. They guy who pitched it probably just wanted a chance to cast a bunch of nude boys, anyway.
