How many powers does Miles Morales have at this point? His venomblast could even defeat a prince of hell in one go, he must be at least Thor level.

Nobody want to talk about the clearly suprior spiderman?

You ever notice that Bendis relies on a clearly overpowered character for his stories? Sentry for his Avengers, Jean Grey for All New X-Men, Tempus for Uncanny X-Men, Miles Morales...it always feels like he has one character with the power to solve all problems.

Invisibility and venom blasts are his only unique powers compared to the other spiders. Still, he'd probably get beaten by every other spider-person.

I totally forgot that he can go invisible
Does he control it or is it like a reflex? I dont remember

How many powers does this fucker have? How did he get his powers exactly and why is he so much better than other spiders?

He controls it.

As many as he needs, since he's black. therefore needs to be helped and protected.

Oscorp made the spider that bit Peter. Norman knew that Peter got his powers from his spider so he decided to make more spiders. One of the new spiders bit Miles after it snuck into his uncle's bag. His uncle is Prowler.

>Regent absorbs Miles' powers
>Is able to kidnap more super powered people than ever before

Maybe he's a BIT overpowered

Jessica Drew can fly, shoots her own version of venom blasts, and is immune to poisons

Julia Carpenter had psi-webs which are basically a specialized form of telekinesis, she was also precognitive, telepathic and may have had some sort of teleportation ability

Kaine had all of the Other powers: communicating with insects, organic webbing, stingers in his wrists, and his own Mark of Kaine thing

Miguel has enhanced hearing and vision, organic webbing, and a poison bite.

>Kaine had all of the Other powers: communicating with insects, organic webbing, stingers in his wrists, and
Not anymore. The Other died in Spiderverse along with Thew Bride.

>his own Mark of Kaine thing
That is basically just using their wall crawling and ripping the flesh off someone's face.

Peter got fucking shafted then.

But Peter got something that the rest of them doesn't, his own book and popularity.

Peter has the main character aura so he's still the strongest. Just like with Superman. It doesn't matter if you have 50 copies of you with better powersets running around. Being the most popular character is the only power you need to be the best.

Miles has a sizeable fanbase. I have no idea fucking why or how anyone could enjoy such a dull character, but he has it.

Miles kicked Peter's ass when they first met.

>WE WAZ SPIDAHZ

>nigger spiderman
What a stupid idea it was

The new ones always do the first time.

Then the main character adapts.

I think I would have liked Miles' powerset if it was just: physically weaker than Peter, but with the ability to inject a paralyzing venom with a touch, combined with invisibility. Early on he tries to act exactly like Peter, fighting openly and quipping, but gets blown the fuck out because physically he's not on Peter's level. He only comes into his own when he stops trying to just act like Spider-Man and starts acting like an ambush predator, sort of like Peter when he gets serious.

Peter could talk to bugs for a while in the 2000s.

Remember when Mattie Franklin has Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Charlotte Witter and Madame Web's powers?

>Bendis' Sentry
>solving any problems

he was just a plot device dude he wasn't an axis of the (quite shitty) story

>Miles power level keeps rising until he's cosmic
>follows Ulysses' example into 5D
>Mantles Anansi

He understood Sentry way better than anybody gives him credit for desu

They're all just in denial about how long it's taking for Bendis to do anyfuckingthing because of how embaressing they'd find it to admit nothing has gone on for the last few years.

...

What the fuck is that page?

What the fuck is happening?

Remember when he fought Ultimate Taskmaster, and he tanked the Venom Blast, and started using it himself?

Good times.

It's funny. Miguel seems by far the weakest Spider-Man, specially since he's the only one without precognition, and still I like him the most out of the bunch.

>Those Nyarghs
Is this Injustice?

>Venom blast punch thing

I fucking hate the way teens talk now.

Guess I'm oficcially old and lame.

>Still, he'd probably get beaten by every other spider-person.

He beat Peter in a fight when they first met, user. Venom Blast (transmitted through a webline, no less), as usual, took 616 Peter out in one go.

if they're gonna give him all these extra powers why not take away some of the original ones? Wouldn't he be more interesting without spidey sense which the invisibility already compensates for? and if he were only a third or a quarter as strong as peter to justify the deus ex venom blast? it would force writers into spaces that would force them to get creative, miles can still take down the bad guys in a physical fight with the venom blast, but his lack of raw strength would keep him from performing simpler tasks that OG spidey can do, like lift a car. Or he can still turn invisible to give him an edge in a fight or get the jump on people, but no spidey sense makes him vulnerable as fuck.

Spiderman 2099 is a way better example of how Miles should have been treated. Both are mixed races, take the Spiderman mantle, and share a mix of original and classic powers

The difference being that 2099 actually delved into what makes him different from Peter and how he's a completely different personality. Miguel is a very angry and vengeful character who relies on a much more vicious powerset compared to the joke-cracking 616 spiderman we're accustom to. Miles, on the other hand, is just a younger less experienced Spiderman who has been made just as competent as Peter due to how he has been written by other writers who overlook everything about him aside from his race since the character's inception

>Peter's quips are friendly schoolyard banter to distract enemies with a short fuse
>Miguel just goes for the jugular with snark, against friend and foe.

Truly 2099 is a grim age.

They support him because he's a black spider-man. People like the idea of miles more than the character himself.

Those people are the ones that don't read comics to know how badly he's handled.
