Was it better than Homestuck?

Was it better than Homestuck?

I don't think anyone would say otherwise, even people who like Homestuck.
Actually ESPECIALLY people who like Homestuck would think that.

Yes.

The highs were lower, but the lows were higher. I'd say yes, overall.

Yeah, pretty much.

Yes, no question about it.

>the highs were lower
I disagree, the DMK fight in its entirety is superior to anything in Homestuck, even Cascade or Descend.

It stuck the ending perfectly, homestuck did not

>tfw you were following it when it was still being made
>tfw one of your suggestions made it into the comic

The best.

>Sup Forums unanimous about something
there's a first.

...

it was also half the comic
but yeah, Homestuck's finale boss fight sucked

Jesus fucking christ yes. It's leagues better. It's almost mind boggling how hard Hussie dropped the ball with Homestuck, and I say this as someone who really enjoyed Homestuck for a good while

Absolutely.

since Sup Forums does not talk about it, i'm gonna guess is far better than homosuck

Better question: who was your favorite detective?

ace dick.
i still make jokes about
"ride still like a mechanical bull. this action unsurprisingly results in your death." and "you ditch the sombrero though, because this wacky ethnic shit is gonna get real old real fast."

it didn't really meander for years on end, y'know?

that alone makes it at least better presented.

Most people's favorite seems to be AD. I guess that just means he lived up to his name.

Ace Dick. All you need is VIM!

It was a much more concise story, though admittedly that isn't saying much in comparison to Homestuck. What Problem Sleuth did that Homestuck didn't is it kept itself just about as complex as it needed to be. It had a lot going on, but all of it mattered in the end and the story wrapped itself up with a nice and neat conclusion that was satisfying. Though less technically impressive, it is a much better example of Andrew Hussie's skill as a cartoonist and author. It is simply a better story because he didn't get too ambitious and Icarus himself. Homestuck was simply a result of Hussie trying way too hard and making the story too big.

yeah

it's really too bad, because reading through homestuck again, everything up to [s] descend just keeps getting better and better.
when you come out of that flash, your left agape and wondering whats going to happen next.

the trolls dont even spoil it, as their decent characters. their introduction slogs on a bit long, but theyre alright.

but shit just keeps getting further and further away from the good bits. the gaming abstraction comedy and the mysterys of the cosmic level shit going on with sburb fall by the wayside in the name of character focus, which would be fine if the characters didnt lose all their charm.

Pickle Inspector

Anyone have pics of Dave cosplays, male, that look actually good?
I need references.

Also Problem Sleuth's ending was the best ending in anything I've seen in a while. If not forever. Meanwhile Homestuck's was a pain.

Undeniably yes.

I think people were spoiled by how good PS' ending was, and forget that Hussie otherwise has no ability to end things.
Have ANY of his other works actually had endings?

What a pretty Dave

I don't need him to be pretty, Dave is probably a not-good-looking guy if we base it off who was interested in him.

>AIDS
Kind of an ending
>Whistles
No ending
>Neon Ice Cream Headache
No ending
>First two MSPAs
No ending

>Any new characters introduced after the main cast are either made relevant to the story or quickly disposed of

Now that's just bullshit. Most of the cast was irrelevant, because most of the cast were gags, which is fine because PS was not character driven in any way.

...

Problem Sleuth:
-Has a self-contained story
-Any new characters introduced after the main cast are either made relevant to the story or quickly disposed of
-Does not depend on pandering to Tumblr to be successful
-Does not have rampant hiatuses that last for an ungodly amount of time
-Completely nailed the ending

Homestuck:
-Is longer than Problem Sleuth
-Has better porn
-Had the best shitposters
-Ruined Hussie's career

I didn't know Beiber was a homestuck fan

>that picture
Stop
Stop pissing me off that that was the official "pose as a team" crap.

Homestuck has Eridan so it's automatically better.

references for what?

My b, yo.

...

Anything on Hivebent yet? I remember that it got the greenlight but that was so long ago.

Porn obviously. What else is there to do? Wait for Hiveswap? Don't be naive.

It's never coming out.

Problem Sleuth was incoherent as a (meta) joke

Homestuck is just incoherent

>those teeth
Jesus

>lactation
Noice

...

Eridan was the most irrelevant character in homestuck after Feferi.

Even Tavros had more purpose than him.

Eridan does extremely well with the exposure he gets, even more so than a couple of main characters. There isn't a single part of his character and his actions that I don't enjoy.

I do requests, but be aware I really only have a Jade and Rose. I can do a Jane, but there's no real hair that fits a Roxy.

>implying you need any other waifus besides Jade and Rose

Go classic or go home.

...

Who's on the bottom

...

The pool should be a lot shallower with TOG building a skyscraper in the background.

Make it just a few dollars, it'd be more accurate.

...

...

Milo Yiannopoulos

...

I said male Daves.

I meant the censor picture, not the guy.

Someone in the last thread requested "Dolorosa babying Karkat."

Thanks

Was Eridan ever redeemed? I never got to hate the character as much as I was supposed to because I
A) missed the Nazi symbolism initially and
B) he was too much of a fuck up to ever take seriously as a focus of my hatred

is this fanart? I don't remember seeing this among Hussie's things

Don't assume that Dave's gender

Dude if that Dave is a man I'd be surprised.

>Wizardy Herbert
No ending

Not really, Feferi may have forgiven him but everyone else still thinks he's a terrible person.

>Nazi symbolism
so is blatant intent to commit genocide considered "Nazi symbolism" now or is there something I'm missing

>Hiveswap
No beginning

He wasn't formally redeemed but Fefeta accepted Erisol's apology and in that god-fucking-awful Remem8er flash, Aradia smiled at his ghost and Sollux just seemed completely indifferent and chill about it as usual.

So of all his work, 2 of them have an ending, and 1 had a good ending. The other one didn't even have an ending made by him.

Is... Hussie a hack?

Satan appears in your room and offers you a deal. He'll make you an incredible writer, but you won't be able to give any of your stories satisfying conclusions. Do you take the deal?

>Actually ESPECIALLY people who like Homestuck would think that.
Yeah...

Homestuck's big thing was that it was a coherent narrative with fleshed out characters at one point, which is something it had over Problem Sleuth.

But then it gave that up for an ending that tried too hard to be clever while also being rushed.

Ah, yeah, that shit's coming back to me. Weaksauce tying up of loose ends, as usual. Not surprising when you have 60 or whatever characters all vying for relevancy.

The sign for Aquarius is also supposed to look a bit like the SS symbol when it's vertically aligned, and he did have that symbol in that orientation somewhere, IIRC??? So I guess that was additional Nazi symbolism. And his genocidal intent was to get rid of all inferior (non-aquatic) trolls.

>clever
How was it clever
What was clever about it.

it tried to be clever by omitting all dialogue, which forced the characters to crudely give exposition about the ending in the form of predictions that all come true exactly as predicted

...

the smell coming from homestuck's corpse...

It's filled with crabs.

>Does not depend on pandering to Tumblr to be successful

How long before Homestuck threads end up getting autobanned due to dwindling down to little more than Sup Forumstard bait?

Can you fucking read the whole sentence.

"Tried" too hard to be clever. As in made the attempt and failed by being all meta and doing the "Wow you didn't expect everyone to die AGAIN huh? Well let's just resolve the story in an unnecessarily convoluted sequence with some sprinkled reminders of the established plot that had long been abandoned- it's not REALLY a retcon if I literally CALL it one, right?!? SO meta, so clever."

What?

Is that really Sup Forums level? Besides, it's true.

please, Sup Forumstard bait happens in every thread on here on Sup Forumsmblr
when homestuck threads get autobanned we'll know it's because the mods here are already biased against them

Homestuck at its height (that is, Cascade) was better than Problem Sleuth. But Problem Sleuth had a continuous ramp-up in hilarity and hijinx to a perfect conclusion, whereas Homestuck....didn't.

I'm not sure how that's Sup Forumstard bait.

that was hussie's whole thing before he fled to the mountains though

"here you go teens, your quarterly helping of vaguely progressive scented slop"

I am here if anyone wants a shitty doodle request.
NO ONE MENTIONED THEM. YOU AREN'T HELPING. AHHHHHH.

The nerdy looking girls (Jade and such) getting a makeover to be pretty

John opening the Sburb door only to end up in a desert with the Horn of Eld

The beta kids as abstract greek gods.

Cascade was a brief return to form after an ultimately disappointing 5th act.

Homestuck at its height would probably be before you ever saw what the trolls looked like.

The funniest bit in the entire comic is still the asteroid conversation in act 1.

>The funniest bit in the entire comic is still the asteroid conversation in act 1.
it's not that funny
it's mostly just observational comedy
you can read it in seinfeld's voice and it fits perfectly

Problem Sleuth.

>this wacky ethnic shit is gonna get real old real fast.
>yfw predicting homosuck horseshit years in advance

CAUCASIAN

I liked your Catwoman-Nepeta doodle.

Can u draw Gamzee as the Joker?
