So was this genuinely good then?

So was this genuinely good then?

Not just good, it was great.
One of the best cinema experiences of recent times

the costume design is insane

how the fuck would we know, the torrent isnt out yet

Yes, it was a really strong movie. You could make a point for it being better than the first one.

very well shot
good sound design
incredible production value

story has people divided but no one can deny that its a great audiovisual experience

I personally liked every aspect of the film and think it was a great piece of filmmaking

looking forward to denis' future projects

nah it was complete shit
>too long
>meme goose
>harrison "zombie" ford
>lol future is bad lmao
>robots r real ppl i swear

such a tired cliched mess

It was kind of "meh".
6/10, maybe 7/10 on a good day.

The original is leagues better.

Best movie this year by far. Better than the original. Future classic.

It took everything that made Blade Runner great and took a shit on it. Genuinely good? No it was genuinely fucking shit.

>good sound design
Those fucking repeating explosions in Deckard's place my god, felt every hit with my entire body

Despite what all the paid-for reviews tell you, it's really not all that good. Pretty mediocre actually.

How is it in any way mediocre?
Are you really going to pretend like you see a film like BR2049 every other week nowadays?

>too long
the pacing was one of the stronger parts of the film my lad

bait

I'm waiting for the torrente to release so i can watch it.

It's 10/10 for me
Went to rewatch it 5 times

Don't even bother if you didn’t watch it in a cinema, you'll hate yourself forever if you like the film for missing it in cinema or you'll hate yourself for watching it if you don’t like it at all.

Can't wait for bluray release and seeing Sup Forums full of Joy threads, baseline threads, real human bean threads etc. Movie is infinitely memable. Similarily to TDKR except BR2049 is actually a good movie.

yes

>Can't wait for bluray release and seeing Sup Forums full of Joy threads, baseline threads, real human bean threads etc. Movie is infinitely memable

That already happened with the theatrical release tho

Will be 3x as big as soon as all the cheap asses from here discover it.

Ryan Gosselin ruined any interest I might have had.

He's the perfect pick for that role. I can't think of a single other actor who would suit the character better

Tom Hardy.

This

If anything it was too short

Yeah he might work too, but Ryan's face is better suited for this character

He's too suave for a role like that. Calling a guy like Hardy a "skinjob" and for him to feel vulnerable seems a bit ridiculous

Fucking this, nigger.

>”Do you fall in love with every woman who shows you the slightest bit of attention. INTERLINKED.”

Watch Locke. He can get vulnerable. Gosling was pretty great but I think Hardy would be even better.

Waiting for the edit where A Real Hero is playing over this scene

The movie felt up its own ass at times, but maybe that was the point and I just didn't get it. Leto's scenes were annoying, Love was a huge cunt and her death was extremely satisfying.

Goose was great as usual and I couldn't help laugh at Ford because of you faggots complaining about him wearing a plain grey t-shirt in all those threads. Overall I enjoyed it though.

fuck it, i'm gonna go see it this week

DO NOT INSULT LUV!!!!

I enjoyed Leto's scenes much more the 2nd time around.
He just tells you all his motivations. He's a ridiculous asshole but that's the point.

Locke wasn’t very good, bro
I know there’s an urge to pretend it is because it’s indie and boring and you don’t want to feel like you wasted your time by watching a guy talking on a phone for two hours, but it was even worse than Buried and much worse than e.g. Phonebooth
Not a great example of Prime Hardy

Luv is great, literally the second main character

Why are people saying Harrison Ford was bad in this ? It's the best I've seen him in years. He gave a great performance.

I almost blew a load whenK was strangling this bitch

Well fuck you I liked it. Nootka man gives a 10/10 performance and carries it.

>tfw I forgot this existed and missed seeing it in theaters

JUST

It is still playing in my area. Watched it this week twice already, second viewing was even better.

Oh dude you screwed yourself.
You gonna kys yourself from regret watching some shitty torrent.

Yes, but ironically I thought the weakest parts were about Deckard and his daughter.

His daughter was great, but we could've done with less Deckard.

It was great. The ending action scene felt a bit out of place. But otherwise, it was fantastic
How? Sup Forums's been talking about it non-stop since... oh, I see
fucking board tourists, fuck off

Underrated post

...

>The ending action scene felt a bit out of place
Why? I loved it , it was really tense and well done action scene. Completely unlike anything any other modern high budget film would do.

It's really good, one of the few movies I've seen twice in theatre.

This, super tense and personal.

where did you get this Hi Res????

>The ending action scene felt a bit out of place.
No, it was perfect. Claustrophobic, brutal, personal fight between two equals with two different goals, actions of both justified by their motivations.

>and his daughter
I absolutely loved everything in those scenes with the daughter.

The entire way through, we've had this very grounded neo-noir slow build.
And then suddenly Gosling is flying a car and shooting down the other cars in a myriad of explosions with them barely reacting. It felt like an action film suddenly.
I liked the fight scenes, the car chase just seemed out of place

Yeah, the only film I've seen twice in the cinema. Definitely worth paying for the big screen experience too.

The chase lasted 10 seconds and we got a taste of aerial combat earlier, when he was flying over Sand Iego.

Well it wasn't really a car chase it was more like a quick ambush, he send his drone to crash into a car, shot down another car and disabled the transport car. Happened pretty quickly within the span of a few seconds.

Yeah, I'm just saying it felt out of place, not that it went on for too long. It felt contrary to the rest of the film imo
> when he was flying over Sand Iego.
That was the junkyard right? The difference there was it was someone shooting at him and his reaction, which felt grounded and kept the tone, as opposed to him effortlessly taking out three other cars which I feel didn't

I dunno if this just makes me a pleb, but on all three viewings I got bored and started thinking about IRL shit during the last fight. It was such a chaotic slugfest that I just lost interest and wasn't that focused on it

I agree, he just suicides a drone into one, shoots down the other and grounds the main car. Seems flimsy for a Wallace escort mission to get Wallace's biggest ever lead on Rachel info

but then I don't know how to solve it either. The film had to end and I can accept a certain number of plotholes if its not too jarring, which I just about wasn't for me

>Tom Hardy

Too manlet to impersonate a chad blade runner. Gosling was perfect.

It does not only make you a pleb, it makes you a moron for paying to see a film three times even though you didn’t like it right from the first time

Deckard wasn't the most important thing to Wallace, because analyzing Deckard did not help him at all in making replicant babies. He said something like that himself.
All he had was the hopes that Deckard might have some information that would lead tot he people who actually hid the child. I don't think it was a plothole.
There were 7 cars that went to Las Vegas, only 3 returned and the same three went to the space airpot

The sudden jump cut to this scene caught me way off-guard, brilliantly executed.

this is a 70+ IQ board
leave now

especially this scene

...

>like tears in the snow
Walked out then and there.

holy fuck I just realized that The Goose is literally playing the same character in BR2049 and Drive
>He has a cool, skill based job
>he kind of has a gf but not really
>something happens in his personal life, that forces him to fail at his job
>fights hard for a semi-important cause
>dies or doesnt die from a torso wound at the end of the kino

she looks like a teacher for fuck sake, joi was better

Yeah if all you watch is superhero movies, game of thrones and flavor of the week horror movies

But normalfaggots hate BR2049? As it is evident by the box office

better than good

it was genuine

Except for Deckard

Appreciatively closer, atmospherically, to the 'Electric Sheep' novel, 2049 sadly offers little interest and far fewer insightful questions to be asked compared to the final cut. With the exception of Ryans Bogart-like performance and an interesting yet overall pointless reveal, the film is a needlessly bland sequel that fails to hold-up any real significance

>Can track Goose
>Love can get into the police station with zero issue and literally murder a commanding officer without repercussion
>Futuristic police car isn't tracked by his superiors or Wells corp.

???

This was the only thing that didn't really make sense to me

...

Luv had to kill joshi to get his tracking location sunce he broke the tracking chip on joi. She had written permission to get in, she probably booked it after killing coco though. Wallace didnt have tracking for police vehicles

>Can track Goose
Using the emanator Athena. He broke it. She couldn't however eavesdrop him.

>Love can get into the police station with zero issue and literally murder a commanding officer without repercussion
Her hands weren't tied, and she happened to enjoy killing the commander. Also just because you didn't see any repercussions, doesn't mean they didn't happen. Two days at most passed between the murder and the end.

>Futuristic police car isn't tracked by his superiors or Wells corp.
It was being tracked by LAPD. That's why Luv had to break in and see where he went. They didn't track him later, because he was no longer relevant. He wasn't wanted by the police, he was just on suspension. Luv didn't care about him anymore because he did what she wanted him to do .

It's like you wrote a good review and then made everything opposite.

How'd she get into the police station anyway?

The scene where Goose first goes back to headquarters after killing batista at the beginning shows that it seems pretty fortified. Wouldn't they be a little on alert considering someone was murdered inside the station already? Coco already seemed to suspect her

Well there might be more wallace corp replicants attacking the station during the death of Joshi. It wasn’t needed though since it is established that Wallace Corp is a much more powerful entity than LAPD. Whether Wallace simply used their vast political influence to force the LAPD to turn blind eye on the event or did it by pure force, it didn’t matter in the end as it wasn’t a central part of the plot

>lol future is bad lmao
Fucking kill yourself

Theres a clip made on youtube of it but it uses the camrip

They cut that scene of how she got in and out, it was in the trailer for a second but in the movie they just cut to the officers cleaning blood off the walls for a second

huh, I never put that together, she must have rampaged.

like the first one the plot was kind of weak and contrived, but it leaves you with a few things to ruminate over, the best thing is the setting, the city, the sounds & visuals, max comfy. Its something to get lost in, not to be dissected.

Bluray release date when? I missed the theater.

jared leto was shit

other than that it was brilliant

Agreed

Its still in cinemas in london so probably not this year

He was great actually for the character he was given stop falling for all the meme marketing campaigns and hatewagon

>not to be dissected
Because you're asking the wrong questions.
>how did she get in the police station
Literally who fucking cares, it's not set in our reality, it's not even set in our reality's future.

Agreed

Sometimes in January 2018.

I think the script was pretty strong, at least all the individual elements and how they were done.
They way the mystery and how everything ties together is a bit contrived, but I think that's because of the second writer. There were two writers one that wrote the basic outline, and the other who tied it all together, so one part was brilliant and the other was mediocre and contrived
