Boy and the World
The Adventures of Prince Achmed
The King and the Mockingbird
psiconautas
Gwen, or the Book of Sand

I'd say Mary and Max, but that's on the IMDb top 250 so it's not really that underrated

Leafie, a hen in the wild. Sad ending, though.

Did the ending get butchered in the American release?

That, Song of the Sea and Secret of Kells spring to mind.

As for ones which aren't great but still a good watch
The Little Prince I really liked it but others didn't
A Monster in Paris
Book of Life

>Oscar Nominee

>lesser known

Just stop watching disxar movies, bub

Yeah, I think the American release cut like 10-15 minutes of footage, and changed the plot to make it less hilariously depressing. I doubt anybody cares about a straight to video/Netflix dub made to look like a kiddie film anyway.

Not OP but it is lesser known.

I don't know how lesser known this is,tho

>Minuscule
Mon négro !

bump

This one is obscenely good for something made by 3 korean wojaks in Flash.

Also features the most erotic scene ever put in a G rated cartoon.

i will ignore your question and point out the great size difference porn this movie generated

I liked The Little Prince as well.

The story is nothing special, but the way it builds its world around the idea that everyone is a marionette is mind-blowing.

A super comfy movie that never gets mentioned on Sup Forums due to lack of sexy lolis, and sold like 10 copies in the US because they dropped the ball on the DVD cover so hard it went to Australia.

That title can't have helped at all. Even off your praise I don't feel really inclined to watch it

look at this dvd

just fucking look at it

who would ever think that this movie is almost kiki tier great

Oscar nominees don't mean shit. Literally nobody watches the animated films that are nominated that aren't from Disney or Dreamworks.

Bloody hell. Someone can't have been paid to design that.

Willy The Sparrow is a cute and pretty well-animated movie from my childhood. I couldn't find it in english, so I bought the DVD myself and burned it.

I uploaded it to youtube here: youtube.com/watch?v=94_zIY3JxTs

Except peoples who cares about animation.

It's Such A Beautiful Day
Cats Don't Dance

Song of the Sea is such a masterpiece, cried in the theater watching it.
It's such a beautiful day is amazing but pretty well known. The guy behind it had some fame in the mid 2000's for his youtube animations.
These look pretty cool, thanks for the suggestions guys.

I recommend where the wind blows. Not super obscure but a really great piece.

Disclaimer: not all of these may qualify as "lesser known"

See disclaimer above.

Top tier bargain bin hidden gem, along with pic related.

Pretty good, though I don't agree with some of the placements.

Same, and for something that seems to be trying to go including everything under the sun, it chose some weird things to exclude.

And this. Yes, these covers are secretly hiding good movies that look nothing like the cover art.

Valse Triste gets me every time.

Wonder why Kells is on there and not SotS, which is the better film

original image had Kells, I only wanted one of the two on there, and I thought them equal enough in my opinion that I never bothered to make a slot for Sea and swap Kells out for it. If I'd started with an image with both of them I might've kept Song of the Sea instead, or flipped a coin

I really want to watch this one.

Pretty well known for an older piece of Sup Forums, but still greatly underappreciated.

Funny, given how it's the studio's mascot and all.

Early Toei was great

Wasn't that nominated for an oscar?

bump

It's thanks to Sup Forums that I actually saw this film.
Yep, along with the meaning in character's names. Apparently whoever dubbed the movie decided to ditch the whole thing about Leafie naming characters based on her own observations.

Looks really odd
