Who are some American Artists who don't run into the same face issue? I hear people bitch about it constantly but I'm hardpressed to find anyone who has consistently distinct faces.

Here you go demon worshipper

Quitely may draw faces like lumps of clay, but they're CONSISTENT AND DISTINCTIVE lumps of clay.

...

If Dr.Mid-Nite is blind then why is he covering his face?. Surely he can't see her naked body, right?

hes scottish but okay.

who are some american artists not afraid to show actual nudity?

Gesture of courtesy?
I'm guessing based on the setting that if he could see he would already have had a good look at her body.

All of them aren't but big 2 publishers have censors, probably best to stick to some indie examples like Saga

Because that book is rated T and the publisher would prefer to not change one issue to M in the middle of it. If it was always a M book then they would draw a little more.

Why can't Kirkman just use Tony Moore again?

All the good pin up artists usually have one face per sex that they night vary if it's supposed to be a different race. Cho, Dodson, Hughes. Noto's good at style and rendering but they're all the same lady or dude.

Usually more pronounced in the women because they probably spent a lot of their artistic growth time trying to make money drawing thirsty guys the same women over and over.

Because he was slow as shit and kind of a dick.

Tony Moore was objectively a better artist in every way, but if he was still on TWD, we'd only be on issue 50 right now. Meanwhile, Charlie Adlard is the luckiest person in comics.

I can get the slow part, but how did he act like a dick?

I've never heard of this until now, I'm curious.

Charlie Adlard did fit with the tone and grittiness of the comic, I just thought Tony's was a lot more expressive

I guess I don't know if he was much of a dick while they were making the comic, but he sued Kirkman after the TV show went mega-huge, and it seemed kind of petty. They settled out of court, so we'll never know the whole story, but it comes across to me as Moore being pissed that he's not part of the franchise anymore, even though it was his own fault.

Also, I used to work with a comic artist agent, and he didn't have much positive to say about Moore.

Same face seems like a small price to pay when artists have to shit out several pages a month

As much as I hate hearing that one of my favorite artists turning out to be a dick is heart breaking, now I'm even more curious.

Also, how did your comic go, if you don't mind me asking?

Depends on how bad it is. If they're really lazy it really fucks up any sense of characterization. That's not a small price. Most artists aren't that bad though.

Oh I'm not a writer or artist ... I was just doing office work lol.

But the most interesting thing I learned was this. There are three qualities of a comic artist:

>Has talent
>Makes deadlines
>Pleasant to work with

As long as you have two of those, you're good to go.

For instance, Charlie Adlard is not a great artist. But he meets deadlines like a mother fucker, and he and Kirkman get along really well. See also: JRJr.

Some artists regularly miss deadlines, but their talent makes up for it, along with the fact that they're decent people.

...you get the point.

>not getting paid for your footage being in a compilation tape
Fuck, is that normal? because I'd renegotiate my damned contracts.

>Dillon wasn't lazy, he just gave everyone Frank's face for the lulz

I think it was both, he was humoring people while easing his workload by cutting corners. I also think he was having fun with it because honestly drawing frank faces on everything must be as fun as shoping them on everything.

I completely agree with the statement Dillon was an economic storyteller. He was masterful in his panel layouts and although his characters have not have always been the best (Frank Face for EVERYONE), at no point ever did you question what was happening on screen. The flow and transition from scene to scene is downright breathtaking and by the time you've reached the end of an issue you seem genuniely shocked because of how engrossing the experience was.

It pisses me off that Moore gets equal billing with Kirkman in the opening credits when he gave up on the comic after like 6 issues. I don't really like Adlard's art much but he deserves far more credit than Moore for his contributions.

Jeff Smith is one of the best. You'd be hard pressed to find two Bone characters that look the same.

Not a chance. The porn industry is over saturated in this day and age and you're lucky to get any positive deals. Actors get paid for the scene and sign away the rights to the use of their likeness beforehand.

That art was Ryan Ottley for Invincimurderman .

...

Hahahahahahaha
Long live the Dillon!!
Long live franked face!!

Well, to be fair to Adlard, he has now been given co-creator status. I think that Kirkman absolutely considers him to be more important than Moore, it's just that Moore was there when it was created, and he's earned that much.

But when you think about it ... I'm not sure any characters are left alive other than Rick and Carl that Moore created. ...maybe Andrea was in that first arc?

>we will never get anymore Frank Face
Feels bad, man.

Terry Moore is pretty good. Especially when his characters emote. Amazing artist
