Name a horror movie on level with The Thing or Alien

Name a horror movie on level with The Thing or Alien.

The thing and alien are sci fi not horror.

>THE FLY

Mimic is better than both.

beat me to it.

Those are scifi movies, The Empire Strikes Back is one the best ones, i would argue that even better than those two.

Star Wars is fantasy, not sci fi.

>cant be both

brainlet alert

No, those movies aren't horror because they just aren't scary. They are sci fi, it's that simple.

They're both.

Also, you forgot The Exorcist, mother! and The Babadook.

Below that tier I would put Nekromantik, Cannibal Holocaust, Deep Red and Suspiria.

>can't be both sci-fi and horror
>star wars is sci-fi
>being so wrong so many times in one post
play salieri!

dude, you fucking suck.

A man turning into a humanoid Fly like nightmare and not knowing if you're a shape-shifting monster from another planet is scary as fuck.

Alien, on the other hand...I agree its more sci-fi than horror...until the David Fincher sequel, that is. Alien 3 is easily the most horror-centric entry in the series.

Halloween (1978)

>>A man turning into a humanoid Fly like nightmare and not knowing if you're a shape-shifting monster from another planet is scary as fuck.
Is pic related horror also?

...

Manhunter
Event Horizon
Jacob's Ladder
The Shining

It's gross and could be horror but it's not presented as horror.

...

Leviathan was pretty bad

So what is horror? A guy in hockey mask? A man having a mental breakdown. Ooh, so scary. By your definition, nothing is horror because it's all just moving images.

Re-Animator

Are these people real?

Yes if you disagree with them you can present an argument instead of posting inane shit like this post

>two movies writtenand designed to scare, unsettle, create discomfort
>not knowing the Ridley Scott anecdote about popcorn flying up in the air from people jumping out of fright in Alien screenings
>t-they just aren't scary
>subjective opinions based on shit taste
I think you're just a fucking contrarian m8

...

Candyman

Trashy, fun though. Scared me shitless aged 12

I bet you’re real fun to be around

/comfy/ but not scary

Not horror but on a level higher, They Live

The Thing is a fucking B-movie compared to Alien
