season 3 sucked and killed my love for the show

Started really bad but I feel it picked up after the underwater episode.

Nobody likes Bojack because of the "comedy" writing lmao. Pic related is the superior comedy.

Gumball is still the best go to animated comedy show and probably the best cartoon of the 2010's overall.

Despite their fifth season being their weakest season yet, it still has some great episodes and even at their worst they'll usually manage to throw in one or two great gags that semi-save it.

>Reddit and Morty
>good

lmao

Agreed

Fantastic episode, but I'll wait for S3. S2 had a lot of problems and now I want to see where the show is going

no

Yeah, if I had to pick one show to save western cartoons it would be Gumball.

Bojack's jokes are so much more well thought and structurally complex than Gumball's though.
Gumball is great slapstick, randumb and reaction humor, but I don't think the writing is on par;

This image is amazing. It sums up Sup Forums's contrarian nature perfectly.

Watched two or three episodes, decided I don't like it.
Especially the old guy with his fucking burping alcoholic voice was annoying as hell.

I'd suggest sticking through if you can. It might pay off.

...

Not even close. It's more entertaining when it's being a drama than a comedy.

This show probably has the most underappreciated comedy writing of the last 20 years.

Hell Gianax loved it so much they literally created Panty and Stocking from it

>S2 had a lot of problems
Problems or unresolved plotlines? If the first then please elaborate.

>Especially the old guy with his fucking burping alcoholic voice was annoying as hell.
I found it extremely annoying too. But they reduced the burping and everything changed after Potion #9, which is the best animated episode I've ever seen. Except for the after credits extra bit. Toned down the ending pretty badly IMO

It's better than Bojack imo. Rick and Morty is so so but Bojack is trash

aqua teen is genuinely the best comedy of all those though

Rick and Morty would be better if Rick wasn't such a cynical asshole. People like the show because of the world and jokes. Hope Harmond gets fired because I listened to the commentaries and Justin and Ryan get problems because of Dan's sjw shit. While he did do great things for the show, Trump winning the election must have took a huge shit on his ego. I could imagine the writing room being a shitfest because Harmond wants to shove in political shit in there and the other writers hate putting up with it. Adding a woman must've made it even more tumultuous.

you

>you have to be contrarian to prefer ATHF and Drawn Together over Rick and Morty
I hate neo Sup Forums

Sup Forums has always had shitty taste.

Trash is maybe a little extreme but the jokes tend to be a little more on the nose than I prefer, the show as a whole is pretty good though.

ATHF has it's moments, but I'd definitely say that Rick & Morty/Bojack have a lot more going on at the end of the day, in terms of just cleverness and characterization (in Bojack's case).

Drawn Together is a mess. There are some good bits in there, but they're buried under tons of crude, deliberately offensive ultimately lazy/boring comedy and self-deprecating jokes about how crude and lazy the show is, which doesn't excuse the show's being excessively crude and lazy most of the time.

Agreed, Rick is definitely the worst part of his show. I definitely feel like there's a way to make Rick a nihilist that doesn't make him come off as such an edgy cynic reddit-tier meme. It would be as easy as just changing his attitude from "nothing matters, and I'm depressed and angry about it" to "nothing matters so let's have a good time and make mistakes".

R&M's strengths lies almost entirely in it's willingness to establish a concept riding that concept to it's logical extreme. I'm thinking episodes like the inception one, and the episode with the car being powered by the micro-universe. Summer's subplot in that is another good example. Marriage Counseling monsters, and the Jerry day care are other also.

you got a point

>he's immediatly triggered by rauchy/offensive humor even if it's done well
>on Sup Forums

Maybe you should go to Reddit or Tumblr, those seems more like your place.

It wasn't done well, is my main problem, faggot. Show was boring, lazy crude for the sake of it and that movie was SO salty they got cancelled and South Park didn't.

>It wasn't done well, is my main problem

Then how come it has so many memorable quotes and moments, while the more notable moments in R&M are dumb shit like "wubba lubba dub dub" and "let's get schwifty"?

So not being in awe with shitty basic humor is triggered by "crude humor". K' cool.

The meme wasn't about taste initially, it was like the iceberg pics, it's meant to show things that take more to appreciate and are more obscure. Drawn Together sure as fuck isn't that.

Your taste is trash, jabroni.

It that's supposed to be LOL?

Because you're cherry-picking? I was a big fan of Drawn Together in middle school and I don't really remember anything beyond significant Spanky pooping on the pizza, the tentacle porn with Clara and Judge Fudge (best part of the show imo).

dafuq is notSerious Sam doing there

>Rick and Morty would be better if Rick wasn't such a cynical asshole. People like the show because of the world and jokes
Are you saying people don't like Rick? I'm under the impression it's actually the opposite. Maybe just not here on Sup Forums but still

I recognize that screencap, my nigga manyakis

It won't be if there is a season 5

polygon.com/2016/12/28/14098716/bojack-horseman-trump-season-4

There is a thread right now of people posting their favorite DT quotes, so yeah, i'm not cherrypicking as you say.

Got a link to this interview?

You're not cherry-picking when you say DT is good, you actually didn't provide any examples if it being good. You're cherry-picking when you reduce R&M down to a couple of cheap catch-phrases.

>There is a thread right now of people posting their favorite DT quotes

Oh wow, it's almost like Sup Forums NATURALLY has a hard dick for forgotten or cancelled shows and shits on anything that becomes popular. Sometimes this is justified (misson hill, motor city, clone high) sometimes it's NOT (will never understand this boards fascination with undergrads) but it's an undeniable aspect of board culture.

You are aware you could make that thread about any show and it would have a least 50 replies, yes?

>interview

Just listen to the commentaries on jewtube.

>I don't like a show so it has to be shit
that's you...that's your argument, because lord knows it's impossible for people to like a show you don't like.

Isn't the fact that it's remembered fondly my many a testament to it's quality? There are tons of forgotten shows (most of them forgotten for a good reason) that maybe get 1 or 2 occasional threads a month or even a year.
