California secedes from the United States in new CALEXIT series

>What if a fascist, autocratic President took over the United States? And what if that President lost California, the sixth largest economy on Earth, by nearly 2-to-1…a margin of almost 3 1/2 million votes? What if the day after that President took power, the largest mass demonstration in history occurred, and the state with the largest turnout was California. And then, the following week, two of the largest international airports in the world, California’s LAX and SFO, were blockaded by protesters? What if California refused to be ruled?

>In CALEXIT, the citizens of California will struggle to seize power back from an autocratic government. The ongoing series tells the story of Jamil, a 25-year old courier (aka smuggler), and Zora, a 27-year old leader in the Pacific Coast Sister Cities Resistance, who escape together from a prison camp in Occupied Los Angeles, where martial law has been in place for the past year — ever since America’s demagogue President signed an executive order to deport all immigrants, and California responded by proclaiming itself a Sanctuary State. Each issue of CALEXIT will also include non-fiction material about local sustainability and grassroots campaigning for 2018 elections.

This is basically treasonous propaganda.

Damn it liberals, can we not fall into the same bullshit that conservatives have been doing since 9/11?

As someone in Cali I find this halarious, just waiting for the day we break off into the ocean and go and hang out with Hawaii

so... this is the left version of 'liberality for all'?

I like the idea.

the nature of humans does not allow it, friend, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

I don't care what your stances on Trump are, this is a really dumb premise.

Wow, I can feel the autism and it's not even out yet. Reading the link throws up horseshit like “I can’t think of a time when confronting the status quo with progressive, political art has been more important,” said Brett Gurewitz, co-founder Black Mask.

>route 66
Is Bernie Sanders writing this comic?

Can Alaska come too?

>California secedes
>Libtards are taken aback by the fact that military personnel are loyal to the US, and not a bunch of crying coeds and corrupt, incompetent politicians.
>The shit ton of militias in the extremely deep red parts of rural California seize power.
That's how it should go down, but we all know why this wank piece exists.

It's art, user.

You may want to read this wild document called the bill of rights

The funny part is them thinking those groups could do anything. If you wiped LA, San Diego, and San Fran off the map, the place would be a red state. And those rural guys are the only ones with guns who would get militant.

Basically this.

Wow, you said nothing at all to disprove his statement! Well done user.

You....I like you

>corrupt, incompetent politicians.
You mean our current executive branch?

California secedes within a month the Mexican Cartels take it over and it becomes Mexico 2.0 except even shittier

people who are actually stupid enough to think California seceding is a good idea shouldn't be allowed to make decisions on anything

>California secedes from Union
>Trump immediately declares war
>leftists slaughtered en-mass by military and loyalist militias
>War over in a weekend
>California comes back to union a red state

Sound good to me!.

Wow you don't know what free speech is, you're beyond retarded user!

So it's the alternate future where Hillary won? And why does California have guns all of a sudden? I thought they hated those.

California may be a large economy, but it's economy is very dependent on the US. It's streangth comes a lot from it's entertainment and tech industries and it's ties to the US dollar. If it's not apart of the US dollar then it won't be nearly as strong and it won't have all the backing it gets from the US government now. It'd have to pay for a lot of the things that the feds pay for.

Also a lack of natural resources would hurt California.

They could do it, but they would not be as well of as they think they are, and they would have to make drastic changes to their economy to make them more sustainable.

Also the entire northern half of the state would not want to go along with them, and might themselves secede from california only to rejoin the states. Taking with them a lot of viable farm land and further weakening california.

Texas is the only state that can really succeed effectively if they want to, but I would predict mexico would try to annex them.

He never said it was violating free speech dumbass.

THEE EEEEND!

Both, yes. The most depressing part of Trump's presidency so far is seeing him do or suggest things that Obama's administration had done/attempted and seeing liberals freak out over them while """conservatives""" who derided Obama for such things are now defending Trump.

>not joining Canada along with the rest of coast states
ONE JOB

Hey Op, I already did the thread when bleeding cool posted it, fuck off and bring some new news.

If you call something treasonous it's illegal, if you want a published comic to be illegal you're violating the bill of rights.
Neck yourself.

>Texas could actually succeed
No state can succeed you fuck tard, the civil war settled that.

I'm sorry do you own the rights to posting this article? No? Well then, I'll post whatever THE FUCK I WANT TO POST THEN, BITCH!

Welcome to american politics, where the phrase "A house divided against itself cannot stand." is socialist propaganda.

dat ass.

No state could win a war with the US military.
No state can succeed and hope to survive.

>Cartels have REAL power!
Top fucking kek m8, cartels only have so much power due to being ingrained in Mexico/central America culture after generations of presence and corruption that makes the worst the US has to offer look squeaky clean.

You may as well start having mad max fantasies.

You seem to have misunderstood what was meant by the term "treasonous propaganda", in that context it referred to "advocating treason", not "illegal propaganda".

Agreed. I'm pretty left but I fuckingbhated that hypocrite Obama. Pardoned 1000+ drug iffenders while okaying the most federal drug raids in history, claimed to be pro muslim while dropping more bombs in the middle east than Bush. Fuck that guy. And fuck american conservatives overall. Theyre mostly hypocrite dicks in general except the more libertarian ones.

bruh, really

The guy that pushed the Cali-exit petition is related to the Russians. I almost wish they would try to leave. It would be enjoyable knowing the army would smash them and I could watch it on television as tons of liberals burn to death.

Hey retard, I mean economically. Texas would be the only state that could sustain itself. If you looked at the context of what I was saying legality was not brought up at any point.

Of course if any state tried to succeed trump would descend upon them.

>California, a state that has been relying for the past five years on its neighbours to keep itself from becoming a shrivelled, dried-up wasteland.
>Seceding
You wouldn't even need any sort of military action. You could either just wait to drought the state out, or put such exorbitant import taxes on water to the point of making them completely dependent on the remaining states regardless.

Talking purely from an economics perspective.

It's not illegal to say " I want to secede", but it is treasonous.

Stay in school kid.

Texas wouldn't want to. They're too tied to the US as well because of tech, manufacturing, military bases and some critical federal resources like the largest sulfur mine in the world and the only helium production in the western hemisphere. Plus stuff like having a third of the oil refining capability of the country. It's also the only place in the country to manufacture and refit nukes, plus where a number of modern fighter jets and helicopters are produced.

Secessionists have always just been a tiny fraction, and anybody who remembers how it went last time wouldn't want it to happen again. And I don't mean the losing part. I mean the sending all the soldiers to go die in bumfuck Virginia while the locals got literally scalped by Comanche and Apache.

>I would predict mexico would try to annex them.
Mexico is nobody militarily.

Also as an addendum for liberals thinking it is a possibility. The southern states tried to leave peacefully, first before the civil war started.

OP here, I'm not this guy The article I linked just came out today. Also, what this guy said

Not really a good part of Texas's economy is based on federal spending. You succeed and all that gubment money goes with it.

no him but it cant be deny that the whole Mara salvatruchas thing have their HQ in California and without a good control in the border California a lot of Salvadoreños would come to your state and rape it.

Have in mind that the weapon manufacturing in the US is found in the middle, specially in Indiana so it would be hard to restock your "army"

Why do liberal wet dreams always come off so unrealistic to the point it's stupid?

The Purge has the same issue in the third movie when they play up only minorities are the target instead of simply poor people being the target. The Purge for the people in power was colorblind. We even have those three stuck up rich bitches who killed their parents which were either rich, politicians, or both. They didn't do it because of what race they were, they did it because the rich were suppose to want to dominate the poor. Any poor person.

Also she wanted her fucking candy bar.

>le russians
I hope you're in the fire too, libcuck.

The National Guard is a state thing you know

Cartels could not organize politically but they could totally control patches of cities in a chaotic post-war state. They are only one type of gang there though, the US cities all have massive numbers of gangs and gangsters.

Then why not actually say what you mean you fucking mongoloid? If you don't mean that it's treasonous dont call it treasonous, and if you don't think it's propoganda, don't call it propoganda.
Fuck off.

Wasn't that guy from New York though?

Regardless of political alignment, we can all agree that this is gonna a giant flaming shit, yeah? I hope its dead on arrival.

1. Not the original user.
2. See

This user is correct, it isn't illegal since freedom of speech covers a huge swath of speech as 'protected' meaning you can run around screaming about killing jews as long as it isn't a manual, or believe aliens are real, or tell the president to fuck off.

Since we can never know which speech will be important in the future, the supreme court takes a very expansive view of it, so it isn't illegal. Though it makes me think Adams wasn't wrong about Alien and Sedition acts.

Actively trying to foment rebellion should have a review.

The most cost effective way to fuck cail would be simply to blow up their dams

go back to Sup Forums you faggots

And National Guards rely heavily on federal subsidies to operate. They're not much of a threat compared with the actual military.

Same reason conservative wet dreams do. They're wet dreams splurged onto the page.

You're an idiot, and probably a hidden ruskie yourself. No worries, once we get done with them, you wouldn't be far behind.

That would make me someone who isn't a 'libcuck' since I want to watch liberals burn with them trying to start a war. Since you can't read and comprehend english, I'm guessing google translate might make it a little hard for you ivan.

We're discussing the viability of the premise of this children's picture book, you fuck off.

Black mask #1 tend to sell LOWER than 6k.

comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2017/2017-01.html

just ctr + f black mask and see it by yourself

The Texas National Guard couldn't do shit lol.

Day 1 all major highways bombed, all dams and powerplants bombed, all bases and communication hubs bombed.

Day 2 occupy all major cities.

Day 3 Texas surrenders has to pay reparations good thing we left he refineries in tact.

Texas has its own power grid separate from the rest of the nation. Lots of farmland and natural resources. Large population for sustained growth, low jobless rates, the largest military base in the country, three major tech environments, and room to grow. Texas is the only state that could sustain itself outside of the US. They give tons of money to the government every year, not the other way around. There is no Obamacare, for example, so all of the Texas tax money on health insurance joins the other states who didn't opt into Obamacare to sustain the ~17 that did take it.

>Day 1 all major highways bombed, all dams and powerplants bombed, all bases and communication hubs bombed.

Instead of that why not shutting down all the energy coming from other state, block their roads outside the state so nobody can come out and dont trade with them until they are starving

The article I read, had his girlfriend and him coming back from Russia, and his girlfriend is russian though they specifically stated the links to russians were tenuous, the implication was there, shit I think it might even have been a Huff PO piece too.

the subheading for these cali exit meetings were about making Cali its own nation, and socialist/anti-capitalist was undertone of their meetings.

Though I suppose the ground is fertile for that kind of support out there.

But they're still numerous and armed. You dont need to have F-22s to stand against the US military, even more when you, for a change, can attack it's soil and strategical targets.

The concept of a civil war or revolt in the US has been reviewed a lot and everyone agrees the conditions that would lead up to it would greatly help the chaos.

I'd answer Californian secession the same way I would've answered Southern secession

Secession without approval from three fourths of the states through a ratified amendment to the constitution is treason

I can't imagine what a conservative wet dream is any more. A return to a Leave it to Beaver/Andy Griffith/Father Knows Best world?

I live in Columbia, South Carolina

Let me tell you what happens when you, your state, and all the states around you decide to take a large chunk of the Federal government's coast away from it

This user writes truly. It is treason.

You're still talking about technically bombing your own country, your own infrastructure and people who will vote in your elections.

It's not Baghdad, you can't just leave when the job is done.

They live in west coast and aren't living with constant reminders of someone marching through their soil burning shit down.

Though the idea of Sherman 2.0 in california makes me kind of hard. Like a half chub. I hope they start with major cities.

F-22's are made in Texas bro.

Also, the Texas National Guard is extremely conservative and likes the federal military. They would never turn coat.

Your Day 1 is retarded. First a secession would never happen so it's moot. Second, no general would be stupid enough to try that to a place that can nuke back.

>You're an idiot, and probably a hidden ruskie yourself. No worries, once we get done with them, you wouldn't be far behind

Now THIS, is a PATRIOT'S POST! You could all stand to learn something from this user here!

>Sherman
what is that? asking as a non american

>honestly this

States who secede lose their voting rights for a while. There was a period after the American Civil War where most of the political class in the southern states wasn't allowed to hold office.

We've done it before, and strangely enough it would be the democrats again being a weak party. Democrats having to come back into the political houses after the civil war must have been an awkward experience.

I invite you to explore the crazy world of conservative mil sci-fi. They're pretty much along these lines, except instead of minorities doing French Resistance against Trump it's usually a band of super hard conservative army men rising up against Hillary, or Obama, or Kofi Annan.

There is wisdom in that tactic but it needs to be done quick every day we wait is another blow the economy because of the uncertainty in the market.
The quicker the stability is restored the quicker the economy recovers over all.
Then we begin rebuilding Texas.

>It's a Sup Forums jerks itself off to something it doesn't like thread

>3/4th ratification of anything
>in an autocracy

For the majority of the American Civil War the South fought a relatively successful defensive war.

At the end, Northern general William Tecumseh Sherman was basically let loose to end the war. He marches his army through the South tearing up railways, supply depots, and burning down a lot of most major cities he came across.

Some historians refer to him as the first modern military general. He executed it perfectly and basically ended the war on his own

He was a general in the American civil war that pushed employed scorched earth tactics, really fucked over the South in a way that it never fully recovered from economically speaking.

You only need 5 days for the state to fall.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman's_March_to_the_Sea

He is still hated to this day by southerners and they invoke his name as a curse.

I can show you about 50 videos from C-Span since 150th just happened a year/two ago.

As a northerner, even I'd say his acts at best of times hedged on barbarism. Burning and taking shit just because, twisting railroad tracks around trees to disrupt movement and leave reminders behind for southerners.

He hated the treasonous with a passion that few general's ever get to express on an enemies soil. Think russians when they entered germany except with slightly less rape.

He was a pretty ruthless general during the civil war who marched across the confederate states destroying and pillaging everything he came in contact with.

Sherman 2.0 was also Sherman 1.0. It was when Lincoln sent him to the West for the Indian Wars after the Civil War. He did to them what he did to the South and worse. And brought along those newfangled buffalo soldiers the federal government didn't want around their real civilized bases to do it.

You can't commit treason without breaking the law.

Texas only has one Nuke weapon site (storage) in the whole state and no silos.
If there was any murmur of succession before hand that site would be sized well before actually succession.

Also look up Day one of the attack in Iraq for an idea what it would be like.

And trying to spur secession isn't considered a treasonous act that meets the standard for breaking the law?

>Also, the Texas National Guard is extremely conservative and likes the federal military. They would never turn coat.

Well yeah, but imagine a conservative states vs liberal states kind of war, with the liberals being the federal ones. Or a west vs east coast conflict, or just a total free for all after the federal government collapses in a tumult. NOTHING will piece the US back together by force alone. Each state is a heavily armed meatgrinder on its own, more than most other countries on earth.

>Implying presidents have any power to stop constitutional amendment procedures, especially going through the states
If Calexits hypothetical dictator did intervene it would piss people off so much that his position would falter. There are mechanims to remove the president that one election can't just change. So unless this comic has decades of eliminating all authority in Congress or the states before this "autocratic president" gets elected he can't do anything about it.

Not that the states would be okay with California leaving anyways. Secession would still be treason anyways

Pantex isn't storage bro. It's manufacturing. Due to plutonium decay, all active warheads have to be sent there every number of years for refit.

Its considered writing a work of fiction.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would the people who live in Texas be loyal to it? You're going to have a good chunk of people who would want to leave or no part in it. This results in shit like nuclear posts being abandoned or useless due to brain drain.

Now the flip side to this is that you may have people running to Texas but they won't nesscary be able to join the military positions needed right away.

I will tell you right now from gov worker perspective, it is in a break away state's best interest to negotiate a peaceful departure. Because there is no fucking the fed is going to leave their intelligence, infrastructure, and resources just bum fuck lying around for XYZ state to use and abuse.

and?

>Are you retarded user?
>[X] Yes
>[_]No
Treasonous language isn't treason dip shit, that's like saying ropeplay rape porn is literal rape.

It's rapey, but it's not rape.

>He is still hated to this day by southerners and they invoke his name as a curse.
Despite being a major figure in restoring order in the post Civil War south.
