Remind me why we hate Post-Modernism again?

...

hola reddit

nigger

Nothing there is post-modern. I don't know what the middle two things are, but based on the rest they're probably not post-modern. Post-modern =/= experimental. Post-modern is nihilistic and emotionless and a lot of those things have clear morals and feelings.

This has to be bait

> House of Leaves

> Killer 7

pure kino

What is post-modernism anyway?

how is gravity's rainbow not post-modern?

*deconstructs your genre*
heh, nothing personnel millennia of narrative tradition

>Post-modern is emotionles

No, where did you get that from?

Everything in that image is shit, except for A Clockwork Orange.

Does this count?

because some frog sounding canadian told you to do so?

>not including the best post modernist work ever made

Pynchon is amazing at writing and a human encyclopedia but I'll be damned if I ever read anything he wrote for more than 50 pages

Fuck, i never beat killer 7.

moral relativism, all narratives have equal value and are equally arbitrary

If you want postmodern look no further than Lars Von Trier. He frequently fucks with the traditions of the medium.

why

God damnit I fucking hate the term post-modern. Nothing can be post-modern, it's a contradiction

Post-modern as in after the modernist movement. The modernist movement was a rejection of the past, the post-modern movement is the destruction of the past through critique and deconstruction both physical and mental

>i dont know what Gravity's Rainbow is
ur a fucking moron

But Sup Forums said I'm not allowed to enjoy Gravitys Rainbow because it's anti-Nazi

Pynchons my fav writer for sure because my fav thing in books is goofs, gags, jokes and rambunctious behavior, and his books are full to the brim of it. Every novel is like one of those novelty snake cans, you open the book & POP you get a face fulla snakes and you fall back cackling. The mad mind, the crack genius, to do it! and then you think hmmm whats he gonna do next, this trickster, and you pick the book back up and BZZZZZZZZZZ you get a shock and Hahahahahah you've been pranked again by the old pynchmeister, that card. "Did that Pynch?" he says, laughing yukyukyukyuk. Watch him as he shoves a pair of plastic buck teeth right up into his mouth and displays em for you- left, right, center- "you like dese? Do i look handsome???" Pulls out a mirror. "Ah!" Hand to naughty mouth. And you're on your ass again laughing as he snaps his suspenders, exits stage right, and appears again hauling a huge golden gong.

>even the author of clockwork orange says it's shit

come on now

checkt

Do you also think The Shining is bad because Stephen King says so?

I want ignorant Sup Forumseddit kids to leave this fucking board already.

Reading Gravity's Rainbow right now

>Slothrop is cleaning some rubble, searching for survivors
>a little girl's hand is sticking out
>she is barely alive, freezing cold and choking
>the only thing she can utter is "Any gum chum?"

Made me laugh out loud

>madoka
>postmodern
explain

deconstruction of the magical girl genre

a) not an explanation
b) watch more magical girls

This guy

It deconstructs the tropes found in magical girl anime.
Revolutionary girl utena is an older show that did the same

name 1 trope

>make a show but have bad things happen instead of good things
>get praised forever as a powerful deconstruction of the genre

There are no transformation sequences in madoka (sans the movie), a staple of the genre

Thanks OP, I only had the movie and music fedoracore charts

cardcaptor sakura

They're called books.
