ITT: We help director J.J. Abrams come up with a subtitle for Star Wars Episode IX.

Bonus points if the subtitle isn't a parody or a pun on Return of the Jedi.

The Force Goes Back To Sleep

The Jedi Are No Longer Away

Rise of the Jedi

The Force is Female

The Last Jedi is apparently the longest movie in the franchise with a total runtime of 2hrs. 30mins.

I don't get why this is news, we knew this like a year ago.

The final chapter

That is a lie.

Episode IX: The Empire Is White People

>The Phantom Menace
A sinister force secretly manipulates galactic politics.
>Attack Of The Clones
An army of clones attacks.
>Revenge Of The Sith
The Sith have their revenge.
>A New Hope
A new hope for the rebellion rises.
>The Empire Strikes Back
The Empire deal several devastating blows to the rebellion and the heroes.
>Return Of The Jedi
The first new Jedi in a generation defeats the Sith.
>The Force Awakens
???

Kanjiklub Strikes Blacks

sure but it doesn't mean it could potentially be a name

>>Return Of The Jedi
>The first new Jedi in a generation defeats the Sith.
thought "The Jedi" was referring to vader

Luke completed his training and became a jedi in RotJ.

Star Wars Episode IX: the Fall of the Sith Lords

>"There has been an awakening, have you felt it?"
>after Rey escapes, a female stormtrooper informs Kylo that there are abnormal readings coming from the detention sector
>Kylo is concerned that her power will continue to grow exponentially
>Rey wins the Force lottery

This is why it's called TFA.

It's translated as "The Return of the Jedi Knights" in Germany, "Die Rückkehr der Jediritter". If it was about Luke or Vader alone, it would be "Die Rückkehr des Jediritters". I always thought it was to give the viewer a glimpse of the future after the fall of the Empire.

I'm 90% sure Lucas said the title refers to Anakin.

Vader returns to the light side
might be an intentional double meaning

Lots of quips in perspective

The First of The Jewdi

They had the same issue with 'Jedi' for TLJ. It's plural according to many foreign translations but Rian said it definitely only refers to Luke.

>A sinister force secretly manipulates galactic politics.
I thought it was a foreshadowing about Anakin's fate

Great, you'd think that Disney would tell them how they're supposed to translate it. One email would've been enough, saying "It's plural btw".

I want you to answer a question for one moument:

The Jew Cuck Strikes Back
jj abrams is just about a piece of shit...

That Asian woman is pretty hot.

This desu

wtf, Rose is the least attractive asian woman ever, and I say that with severe yellow fever.

Guy Quest

Any movie with the subtitle "The Final Chapter" is never the final chapter.

The Good Guys are Coming Back

EpisodeIX: I Never Force-Touched Her, I Swear! These Allegations Are Beneath Contempt!

My sides

fuck off J.J.

That's a good guess.

Was thinking of some shit like "A New Path" as they're trying to kill the Light/Dark side binary.

The Final Solution

Hopeless Situation Return

t. thinks Bobby Lee is a hot woman.

The Battle For Relevance

Episode IX: Fuck White People

...

serious answer: "Enemy Unknown" or something that alludes to snoke, as they have to copy the throne room scene from rotj.

episode 9 - The quest for even more cash

Galactic Cashgrab Nerdheist

They're already copying the throne room in The Last Jedi, though.

Posted at the exact same second

It is The Force

it will have 'Victory' or 'Battle' in it.

The First Order Strikes Back
Rey: A Star Wars Story

great minds think alike

Episode IX: No Whites Allowed

Star Wars Episode IX:
Balance of the Force

Wraps up the whole series in a bow (though we know they're gonna keep makin' movies until we all die), uses a very familiar colloquialism from the franchise, uses the "Verb + of the + Franchise Specific Noun" formula.

Someone call JJ.

>Revenge of the Sith
>Return of the Jedi

As it's written by Abrams, the title's obviously going to be Revival of the Jedi.

That's a shitty title and they wouldn't use the word 'force' twice in one trilogy.

Star Wars Episode 9: The Miscegenation Propaganda

We've had Force and Jedi, the next title will involve Light

You underestimate their propensity for shit.

This is probably the real title.

>first order's new weapon will be suicidal
>they will be holed up on one planet losing the war badly
> will prominently feature crazy general huxtable (pic related)
it will be like an xmen movie with some unconvincing skywalker soap opera sprinkled on

Episode 9: Chewbacca gets a cell phone.

The sith rise

Star Wars Episode IX: Kill Whitey

...

I really hope that retarded kike doesn't get to direct it.

Did Disney not listen to the complains about TFA?

>I really hope that retarded kike doesn't get to direct it.

Too late, he's going to.

They listened to all 2.066 billion concerns.

no, they don't visit russian badminton racket building forums

>Its time for straight white males to end
Jfc, really Disney?

STAR WARS
EPISODE IX: THE NEW ORDER

After defeating SUPREME LEADER SNOKE, KYLO REN travels to deep space to save REY from the the evil LUKE SKYWALKER and finally get his revenge on his former master.

underrated

Star Wars Episode IX: Balance of the Force

You called it first. I too think that will be the title.

Nonsense, they can and they probably will, you know it to be true.

disney will never let luke be evil

Episode IX: Still paying for this shit?

TFA also had moments from ESB already
>not-Yoda tells not-Luke about the Force
>not-Vader in conversation with gigantic hologram of not-Emperor
>dramatic reveal of not-Vader's true identity on a bridge above an abyss
>telekinetic lightsaber recall from a snow drift
>enigmatic villain underling in distinguished armor is completely underused and ends up thrown into the trash/an animal's maw

There doubtlessly were more callbacks to the OT all rolled into a 70% beat-for-beat remake of IV, but I'm tired.

The movie was originally to be titled "Revenge of the Jedi" however Lucas switched the name at the last minute - in fact it was so abrupt that merchandise with the name "Revenge" had already been made at that point. (Side note - this title would later be reworked for Ep 3 since the concept of revenge is spiritually consistent with the morals of the Sith.... but I have no idea why Sheev is getting his revenge when it was never established that he was wronged by the Jedi and the elimination of the Sith were never given much backstory either.)

As for Lucas' intentions as to which character the name referred to, I would surmise it relates to Luke since the original title would support the idea that Luke and the rebel forces are making a comeback and Luke had also been absent from Jedi during the start of the film. I like the idea that the title could refer to Vader as well however.

WE

The Hungarian title is also plural, according to industry-veterans in translation Disney told the local distributors that the Jedi in the title is plural.
Rian is lying out of his ass.

Both imo. Anakin is redeemed and Luke rebounds after his defeat in TESB.
