I'm wracking my brain here and I'm having a hell of a time coming up with something that isn't animated. I don't really get that, "Aww, fuck yeah!" sensation from live-action movies anymore. There's only so much you can do with CG and wirework, after all. Hollywood movies also have a tendency to save the "real" action as a spectacle to remain separate from the story. That doesn't impact the action itself; it just all but ensures I will never remember it.

Blue Ruin and The Grey gave me a bit of that exciting feeling, but only in very brief moments of extreme violence. I can't think of any great showdowns that aren't mostly psychological, like in Se7en or Kill Bill 2... Do war movies count?

Chinese cartoons have ruined me.
