Who is Marvoh?

Just saw it. It was a good movie. Familiar characters, but didn't feel like an X-Men movie at all. It was genuinely a good film, not just for nerd reasons. That being said, it was pretty sad and not all that fun. A wonderful sendoff to a classic character. I hated the tacked on X-24 stuff though. That felt like film executives saying 'we need more action and someone to fight'. But I liked it a lot more than most comic films. It was a way better end for Logan than what we got in the comics when they killed him off.

It was actually pretty good, but yeah it didn't feel like an X-Men film.

I'm a very opinionated person and lately I've been rambling about how there shouldn't be a "superhero" genre in movies, they should be crime dramas with superheroes, horror with superheroes, thrillers, mystery films, and in the case of Logan, drama westerns with superhero related characters.

It was fairly mature, lot of suffering, pain, it was a dark world with little hope and it made it's punches feel very dramatically.

Best western in 10 years.

I can't tell if its ironic to like the x-men movies or not. DoFP was fucking awful

>DoFP was fucking awful
DoFP was the best cinema experience i've ever had and you can suck my nuts.

Age of Apocalypse was even worse. Holy shit, they know how to write Magneto and Fassbender knows how to portray him, but there is such a massive berth between him and whoever is the second most well written/acted character that it's just awful to watch. It makes me rethink liking First Class.

i feel the same but about MCU flicks tbqh

>was even worse.

>implying DoFP was bad

I hate you and wish you pain. I hate this board.

>implying DoFP was bad
Stating it directly, it was trash.

kill youreslf

So why is dofp "good" despite it having a clusterfuck of a story. Goes from The Wolverine where stuff seems fine to all of sudden the fucking world ended

Wasn't even a superhero movie. I didn't ask for feels.

I wouldn't say it's """"good"""" but it's certainly one of the better capeshits, as if any of them don't have clusterfuck-esque stories

>couldn't follow the movie
Are you pulling my leg?

Good actors are wasted on this flick, it's full of nonsense and weak direction and the idea that Jennifer Lawrence can carry these movies just by being on screen.

It gives no explanation. All it was missing was record scratch and a flashback montage to perfect it

Don't mind me, just posting DoFP kino

First Class was good and so was Deadpool. X-men 1 & 2 were also good for their time. Logans cool to wouldn't you say?

Whose idea was it to have Kitty be the one who could send thoughts back in time? It would have made more sense for Magneto to reverse his mental polarity so that Charles could speak to himself telepathically. And even that makes no fucking sense, but whose idea was it to have Kitty be the one who could send thoughts back in time?

This was on today so I watched the beginning, and oh lord was it just as bad as I remembered.
Xavier throwing up exposition for five minutes about Mystique while he's wearing paintball gear.
Does anyone have the poster edits of flying Charles?

Claremont.

I thought it was his idea to have Rogue do it?

Marvel would probably do better with the X-Men as capeshit stuff

Logan wasn't even remotely close to cape and the act that was closest (the third act) is where its weakest points start to show.

yeah not enough dumb quips

But how many well developed characters does Fox have? Five?
They've been making these movies for almost two decades, and they have jack all to show for it.

Here's the thing though.

Hugh Jackman has said that he would consider returning to the role of Wolverine.

IF Wolverine is allowed to be in the MCU.

Considering Wolvie was an Avenger in the comics it would be cool. Of course it all depends on whether or not Fox will allow it.

it's not happening

get over it, MCUcks

>If Wolverine is allowed to be in the MCU
>Not for the inevitable X-Force film with Deadpool

fuck that

I wish Fox buys all the rights from them now.

You can see where in this thread the quality of discussion jumps off a bridge once a Sup Forumsposter starts posting

>everyone who doesn't blindly shill for marvel is a Sup Forums poster

Please end your life you dumb waste of flesh.

Deadpool did Colossus better than Disney or Fox ever would have, I don't feel bad about that at all, and they even made a nobody MORLOCK cool. Give the franchise to Ryan Reynolds.

Don't act like Sup Forums posters are some beacon of posting quality. Sup Forums is shit, but it's just a different flavor.

>Give the franchise to Ryan Reynolds
Yes, please.

At least over at the MCU he'd wear the costume, just saying. But yeah this is a good sendoff for Jackman

>Deadpool did Colossus better than Disney or Fox ever would have

Deadpool IS Fox

he'd be wearing a costume but he'd also be quipping every other line

not sure if it's worth it tbqh

The implication that it's more of a Ryan Reynolds creation/vision than an actual Fox one.

It makes the most sense, really: Deadpool alone made super heroes cool and fun(and most importantly: profitable) again while the movies are stagnating. All the execs have to do is fuck off and cash the check.

Deadpool is Ryan funded by Fox.

you truly are fucking stupid you actually think this

just because they gave ryan an inch of creative freedom compared to the MCU doesn't me he actually runs the show

>mad for not getting it the first time

Compared to literally every other Fox-men movie, I'd say that yes, he ran that movie.

He already said he's not doing a Deadpool movie.
Both he and Patrick Stewart are done for good.

No, not really. Literally everything had to be tested and approved by Fox. You underestimate the power and decisiveness that goes into making these capeshits.

Don't act like Wolverine hasn't been constantly throwing out sass in his comics.

quips != sass

in an MCU flick, he'd probably make a dumb joke about anime references or something

Did you even hear the story behind Deadpool's production? It was basically Ryan and Miller's baby. FOX wanted no part of it, slashed the budget, and only got made because the test footaged leaked. If anything, its success and popularity threaten the sequel given FOX's new interest in the IP

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Has Jackman ever said the "Im the best at what I do" line before? Because that I could see in the MCU.
At worst, it be along the lines of
>"I dont swim"
>"Im not getting past a metal detector"
>"I wear yellow because they were out of black leather"
etc

So are you just shitposting or are you really that brain dead? Either way have fun being proven wrong

Don't give him too hard of a time.

Nah

>Logan is watching anime
>Steve Rogers walks in
>*audience chuckles*
>Steve Rogers asks "What's that?"
>*audience chuckles again, anticipating an epic quip*
>Logan takes his headphones out
>"It's Nichijou"
>*audience bursts into laughter*
>Steve Rogers says "I don't get that reference"
>*audience is crying from laughter*
>Logan puts his headphones back in and starts quoting the anime

>tony walks in
>they start doing hare hare yukai

You two truly are stupid motherfuckers. Congrats.

>Anime
Is there a reference Im not getting here? I could see him watching an old samurai movie called "The Silver Samurai" and then bitching about the sequel adding a robot

you can't be this fucking stupid

>First trips
>Now dubs
Nice digits there friend. But if you're going to shitpost, its always good to get creative with it instead of falling back on "you're stupid!". You'll get the hang of it

fuck off, numb nuts

I loved it when I saw it in theaters, but after watching it again I started to dislike it a lot more. I don't really hate it, but there are a lot of really dumb choices in it.

The Rogue Cut wasn't too bad, I just didn't like the fact that in that version Bobby dies

Wolverine is a huge weeb.

If he was in an MCU movie, that would be taken to the extremes for comedy sake and he'd probably be watching anime (akin to the Beyonce scene in Doctor Strange)

>Beyonce scene in Doctor Strange
I don't know what that is, but I'm suddenly glad I missed Strange in the cinemas.

A FUCKING CLOUD

A F U C K I N G C L O U D

it's nothing

Strange tried to get a laugh out of Wong by calling him celebrity names but he wouldn't laugh. Then when Strange used a portal to take books from the library Wong was sitting at a desk reading and listening to Beyonce. That's it.

>That's it

Don't fucking act like there isn't a another Beyonce quip scene later on, you lying fucker

Wow you're really trying to push that meme arent you? He had a body, sorry you didnt get not-ghost rider

>See something contained in AoA and get excited wondering if they might have thrown in some unexpected character
>Oh, it's Wolverine. Really should have seen that coming.
>X-24 starts being mentioned and we see the container
>Cool, I wonder what this could end up being. At the very least it obviously won't be Wolverine again

LITERALLY A CLOUD

A FUCKING CLOUD

I'm just mad none of the kids had Cyclops powers
Otherwise great film for sure

wouldn't that fuck with the whole Cable setup though?

What, why?

And what the fuck is he supposed to do with it?

Aliens vs Cowboys was better

...

Are you actually retarded? Sup Forums posters are a combination of Sup Forums, cancer, and shit. Sup Forums, by contrast, is most of what's still worthwhile on Sup Forums.

>other board boogeymen
You don't need to prove him right.

Better than what?

dude, I left Sup Forums for a reason. It was 40% "Cuck cunny KEK DAE white genocide is real?" last time I was there and I doubt that number has lowered.

Sup Forums is shit for different reasons

>40%
That's all? Not much reason to hold this big of a grudge.

the other 60% was GoT and DW

>most of the posts were related to television and film
Oh no. Help. Please, somebody.

to shitty television and film fampai

>i don't like it
So instead of making threads about content you wanted to see, you threw a fit and came here to blog about it.

He's exaggerating but GoT would often slip out of its general during the episode premieres to flood the board if a major death/resurrection occurs

Ok.

They actually should now because there's no fucking way they can top this movie. It's all downhill for the Fox X-men universe from here. It was the utterly perfect send off to Stewart and Jackmen's renditions of the characters. Time to let it lie fallow for a decade or two because holy shit. That was so good that any follow ups at this point would just cheapen it.

I felt that way about MoS, then we got BvS.

I'm not sure if that means you agree with me or not. Assuming not if only because Man of Steel doesn't work as a send off.

Yep. They're already trying to do Dark Phoenix again and it'll definitely feel cheap after the buildup with Jackman and Stewart as their characters for two decades that Logan was able to use in it's benefit.

Wishful thinking that I agree with. Hell, DOFP's "Logan wakes up in the fixed timeline" scene was also a perfect send-off for the franchise but obviously Fox cannot let the rights go.

Deadpool 2, X-Force, New Mutants, X-men: Supernova and Gambit are all projects in the works that we know off. Shit's not going anywhere.

>

Exactly then we can stave off superhero fatigue.

I agree with you, I haven't seen Logan yet, but I understand about follow up movies cheapening what's been achieved and established before it.

No Kitty had the help of Rachel Summers a telepath.

>Nothing can top this movie
None of the X-Men movies can, but with solo characters, they can at least try to do theirs with the same good-will effort as Logan.

>Monkey's paw.

Will we ever get an untainted critically acclaimed superhero franchise?

The most interesting place they can go with this movie is to follow the kids, because that's actually new and has lots of potential. It's a world where corporate interests seem to have finally fully subsumed government ones and mutants have intentionally been slowly exterminated by altering mass-produced food and drink (I wonder if the farm family had a mutant at any point in the script, because there was room for it).

In this world a dozen plus new half-Mexican mutants with the powers of the famous scary ones just tripped over the border to Canada. The dynamic between precocious shithead leader Kid Magneto who instinctively cuts off the outside world and Laura, who is both the most violent young mutant and the one who had the strongest human connection, could be something amazing. Laura is well placed to be both the physical and moral/emotional guardian of the new mutants.

Speaking personally I thought Logan was decent, not great. It felt smug, was heavy-handed where it didn't need to be - probably because of studio meddling - was somewhat ashamed of its comic book origin while at the same time being indulgent with it, and could have been much more adventurous and interesting with the violence. The Shane stuff/Logan's final words at the end literally had me rolling my eyes. I dread to think this becomes the definitive Wolverine in comics too. But still, plenty of highlight scenes and overall a good movie. Just could have had more confidence in itself and felt less of a need to play dumb for an audience.

>inb4 they make an R-Rated X-Men featuring the kids
>It's a bigger hit than the soft reboots they've been doing
