X-MEN TV Series

Thoughts on Matt Nix's and Bryan Singer's upcoming X-MEN television series?

>"Two ordinary parents discover that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive."

It's reportedly set in the movie continuity and will feature the Sentinels. Fox is developing it for the 2017 pilot season.

The cast including not!Warpath, not!Sunspot, Blink and Polaris is making me hesitantly interested

The cast so far.

REED STEWART (Stephen Moyer).

>An ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA’s office with his responsibilities to his family. Reed is forced to abandon the life he worked hard to achieve to protect his children from the government.

KATE STEWART (Amy Acker).

>A strong-willed businesswoman struggling with her separation from her husband Reed and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn, she finds that she’s stronger than she thinks.

LAUREN STEWART (Natalie Alyn Lind)

>A smart, pretty, popular and organized teenage girl, who is already ahead on her college applications and is the model of a perfect kid, until her life is upended by the discovery of mutant abilites.

ANDY STEWART (Percy Hynes White).

>A sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home, and unlike his sister and parents, is fascinated by his newfound abilities.

CLARICE FONG / BLINK (Jamie Chung).

>A sarcastic and lively tomboy with the power of teleportation, Clarice’s naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly home, Clarice slowly becomes herself again.

LORNA DANE / POLARIS (Emma Dumont).

>A strong-willed, brave and loyal member of the mutant resistance, who has the ability to manipulate magnetism and is still finding her footing in the conflict.

MARCOS DIAZ / ECLIPSE (Sean Teale).

>A natural rebel compelled by circumstances to cooperate with others. He is a passionate and strong-willed fighter who sometimes lets his emotions overrule reason, and possesses the ability to absorb and manipulate photons.

Literally cuck porn the series

>A strong-willed businesswoman (stronk womyn who needs no man) struggling with her separation from her husband Reed (alimony, white shaming) and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn (because her new boyfriend is black), she finds that she’s stronger than she thinks (because she is now part of the globalist agenda).

>A sarcastic and lively tomboy
Speaks for itself, tumblr self insert

SAM (Blair Redford).

>The strong-headed Native-American leader of the underground mutant network that Reed and his family seek for protection, Sam posseses enhanced strength and agility and is initially mistrustful of the humans in their midst.

So, we're just gonna continue rolling with Blink being Asian?

Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

JACE TURNER (Coby Bell).

>A government-sponsored mutant hunter who quietly wrestles with a job that requires cold-blooded, calculating efficiency on a day-to-day basis.

>a dark turn (because her new boyfriend is black
Are you projecting with this assumption, user?

Since Evan Peters is also a tv actor, is there a chance for him to show up as Quicksilver?

Oh god

Wouldn't this be set sometime between modern day and DOFP?

Shouldn't Quicksilver be old as balls since he was introduced in the 70s?

Don't worry about it, they probably aren't.

James McAvoy is playing a 50 something year old by now, isn't he? Plus there was Storm and Jean and Scott who didn't really look like people approaching 60 either. I don't think they care too much about ages.

What? how did

>Matt Nix
Oh

>smart willed bussineess woman

>A smart, pretty, popular and organized teenage girl

>A sensitive kid and bit of a loner

these are redflags, it's not going to be good, guys.

He looks like Reed Richards. Missed oportunity desu.

>Bryan Singer
it will be shit

Where's the blond teen boipussy?

>Sentinels
>in TV budget

yeah that can't be good

Prime Sentinels?

So is this gonna be like David and Nightcrawler, where they don't say who the parents are, but we know and it's kinda stupid how they don't just come out with it?

>randomly

>Also staring Link the Hylian!

Hope you're okay with elves user.

>Time consistency when it comes to X-anything

You're in for a ride my dude

I'd like a whole long X-men arc that spanned the decades of its creation if it did just a bit better job with when the stories occurred and especially which characters were involved. Given they're movies I guess they're doing alright on the time front but First Class used and removed some characters kinda central for later stories.

But then I was a fan of a period-accurate Batman and other shit that basically gives modern capes a complete story arc, leaving us with consequences and probably new heroes.

Ya know, considering the 1930s were nearly 20 years ago.

I like History and storytelling. It is a weakness.

noice

Mystique and Azazel aren't Nightcrawler's parents in the movies.

you misspelled awesome

can my dick take all of this

Watching just for her.

Quicksilver getting a cute boyfriend WHEN?

There's a rumor Sentinels will just be human military contractors with advanced technology. Probably led by

Literally Sunspot and Warpath...

Whats the point of creating entirely new characters that are exactly the same as preexisting characters from the source material??

>not muh X-Men

*awfulsome

And they even have the rights to those...
Maybe the real ones are gonna be used in the New Mutants or X-Force movie? they might be trying to leave their options open.

>aybe the real ones are gonna be used in the New Mutants or X-Force movie? they might be trying to leave their options open.
Most likely scenario.

Singer's involvement leaves me nervous.
But then so would the involvement of a complete nobody.
Really, I can see a lot of ways they could fuck this series up majorly.
If they pull it off, it might be pretty neat, though.

If it's set in the movie continuity it's so they can re-use designs and effects (and potentially props, costumes, maybe even sets) from the movies, which are so comically outdated now that you can do them on a modest tv budget.

Even if it's not, this is the project going forward. If it doesn't happen, FOX is giving up the X-Men rights before the end of the decade. If it does happen, they'll be praying it works out and gets a big enough audience to justify continuing with it - otherwise they've run out of time to produce new movies, and Deadpool 2 will probably be the last thing they release.

>but New Mutants

yeah and if that goes ahead I'm sure it won't be QUALITY like F4nt4st4c too

He is only directing the first episode

>He is only directing the first episode
So he only gets to speak on all the fundamental design choices of the show. What a relief.

This gets and instant watch from me. I love this woman.

Where does singer keep finding these big lipped uggos and why does he keep casting them? Is the head that good, singer?

Is this canon or just funposting?

Live-Action Anole and Rockslide when?

>all these cape shows and movies
>mfw getting tired of superheroes
Please no more, fuck.
