New Ducktales promo

youtube.com/watch?v=B_2_UzIv74c

worth the seizure

Isn't Billy Dilly supposed to air soon, where's muh promo for that?

I wonder how Donald and Launchpad are going to differ when it comes to being comedy relief.

for starters, Launchpad can talk

We'll doesn't that beat all? You save the world from an army of soul-sucking aliens and as a reward, you get dragged to the Sahara to die by your extended family

I really like this animation
Props to Disney for trying
Have they said if they will be adapting any of Barks' stories or will it just be new stories in that universe?

The animation doesn't look bad but fuck i still can't get over the square heads

That was pretty fluid movement

I think it's just because they are ducklings

I hope it's going to be psycho dick face Donald like in the old comics

It's hip to be square, user

>dull colors
>Daisy is manic gurl powah Mary Sue
>The triplets are assholes now for reasons
>Launchpad seems to be left ok
3/10 being generous

Bait, do not respond

>>dull colors
This is good, instead of using main bright colors to keep kids attention it has a more relaxed non-eye bleeding style.
One of the main reasons I liked the 2D animation on the 2nd Spongebob movie, it's the first time the characters have been shown with muted colors in probably years.

I don't like WEBBY either but chill

sorry I just wanted to talk about the color thing

cartoons have got away with being too bright to hold kids' attention for too long

>dull colors
I'll give you that but
>The triplets are assholes now for reasons

>Daisy
What

Don't pretend like you didn't know he meant Webby. If you're gonna use a typo to discredit his point then that means you know he's right and Webby (not Daisy) is a FUCKING MARY SUE

Heh.

'Daz what I've been sayin'! We've only heard from two crew members on the show that it's premiering this Spring, but no official announcement has been released from Disney yet.

The animation has improved a lot compared to the previous one. This teaser grabbed my attention desu.

I doubt it's gonna look anywhere near this good.

I'd generally wait until the show airs to make that kind of baseless comment

You can tell Webby really looks up to Donald by the way she's looking at him in the promo. It's cute.

Donald's got rage.

With how dark more and more modern cartoons are becoming do you think we'll get an answer of what exactly happened to the nephews mother and Donald's sister?

Too late.

No, but I'd bet money we'll have deepest lore story arcs spanning the seasons, maybe even series

>Daisy is manic gurl powah Mary Sue

I'll take it over her being a whiny girly girl like the original.

The optimal choice would be to not have Webby at all.

Nice! This one actually had good animation. I wonder if the same people animating the show did it, wish there were credits.

Hate to say it, but why do commercials never have credits? What the hell.

was that a female singing?

Mom's gone on extended vacation after one prank too many put their father in the nuthatch.

Obviously, but it does show that the animators can do some damn fine work with the art style when the show requires it.

Webby a damn cute

They've said they aren't doing any straight adaptations SO FAR. Expect those to come in later seasons. There will be tons of references though.

...

DEEPEST LORE

There is going to be a Duck Loli thread in offtopic isn't there?

It's nice to see Donald included.

He doesn't know.

>Bait, do not respond

Isn't that what you just did?....unless this is baAH SHIT!

I don't remember Donald being in the original Duck Tales

he was in the comics but they didn't want to use him much in the show because they were afraid people wouldn't be able to understand him

Donald is actually the straight man.

Is anything less than a sparkledog neon nightmare too "dull" in colors for you Sup Forums?

Have any of you ever read any color theory?

...

What is this, /lit/? People visit Sup Forums because they can't into reading comprehension.

fuck bees

>her being a whiny girly girl

It would be 100% more realistic

Dudu du du dudududuu

Did their father died due to his wounds?
Did Della died of a broken heart?

And because Eisner was hesitant to use the classic characters in new stuff in the late 80s.

The animation in this promo looks better than the actual show. Is this where all the budget went?

That's some good animation right there.

>Being surprised that intro/promo animation looks better than actual show animation
That's literally always the case.

it looks like they, didn't get the message from the old ducktales; Donald should be not the main character, but the focus is on Scrooge and the nephews

Yeah, but very rarely. Here it seems like Donald would be front and center.
In Duck comics Launchpad never really took off, because Donald was always there. In Duck Tales Donald was only sometimes guest appearing.

With Donald as one of the main characters, they can now adapt the Barks and Rosa stories with greater ease.

Donald is not THE main character, he'll just appear more like in the comics

The focus still seems to be on Scrooge and the nephews, this promo was probably made to say "Donald is here now"

The actual trailer doesn't look as good. Though I think I mostly dislike the designs of Huey, Duey and Louy.

It always bothered me as a kid.
I was subscribed to the dutch version of the weekly Donal Duck comic, and always found it strange that Donald was never present much in the Ducktales cartoon.

The new one features Donald a lot, and it looks like it's going to be a lot like the classic adventures of Uncle Scrooge+Donald+Nephews I know from those comics.

Hope this guy is featured too. Don't know his english name.

>Adaptations of Barks and Rosa

Holy shit the very thought makes my dick fully erect

although I bet they'll fuck them up somehow

I hope we get a The Life and Times arc somewhere along the road.

Porn when?!

Eh Spiral hungry fan girl is also acceptable.

I'd rather have some of Scrooge's sisters

Yea seeing where the boys get it from.

His English name is Gyro Gearloose.

i love donald so much

This the only piece of promotional material to really feature Donald. The others just had him in the promo. He only had like one line in the trailer.

I agree with the other guy, it's just to show that Donald will indeed be part of the adventures

Crew is really into the comics hence Donald being in his Black suit.

That's so much cooler than Willie Wortel(Willie Carrot) I guess his name is Wortel because a Square Root is called a Wortel in our language(And Wortel also translates to root) and he's an inventor, so maths 'n shit.

It's kinda clever now that I think about it.

They also getit from their grandma. The whole family is like this.

In Spanish he's called Ungenio Tarconi, presumably a reference to Guglielmo Marconi. And according o wikipedia he's called Giro Sintornillos and Ciro Peraloca in Latinamerica.

I think it's safe to say that Donald will get his share of the spotlight. They made a point of calling attention to the fact that Donald's a famed adventurer, and he had a fair amount of action shots in the First Look promo, roughly as many as Scrooge.
For "focus", out of the prominent characters we've seen, I feel like the order will go
Scrooge
The Nephews
Donald
Webby
and Launchpad as comic relief

Shush, Webby.

In Finland he is Pelle Peloton, translated Clown Fearless. Which makes no sense.

Some good Beard Bros level trivia right here.

This is so interesting.
What's Scrooge called in other countries I wonder? In the Netherlands he's called Dagobert Duck. Dagobert is a germanic name meaning "exuberantly" and "bright day"

But I'm more guessing they used it because it's an old timey name, which they used for a crotchety old man. His last name being Duck and not McDuck is probably because Mc isn't common at all here, and the only Mc we really know is McDonalds.

>youre

He was a special guest star in one or two episodes.

In Spanish he's called Gilito McPato.
In French he's called Balthazar McPicsou (they call him "Oncle Picsou), which is a pretty horrible and nonsensical translation if you ask me.

In Poland he has no surname, just Diodak as first name. From diode.

Sknerus McKwacz, "sknerus" being a word for a stingy person and "kwa" is "quack", so you see it a lot in Duck comics. The word for duck is "kaczka", and for mallard it's "kaczor", so there's probably something to do with this as well.
Donald Duck is simply "Kaczor Donald".

In Brazil he is called Professor Pardal, which means Professor Sparrow because apparently sparrows are smart birds

In br portuguese he is Professor Pardal, meaning Professor Sparrow

Scrooge is Patinhas McPato. The -tinhas bit doesn't mean anything, it's just something to turn Pato (Duck) into a name. Something like Ducksmith McDuck to retransalate. Tio Patinhas is the nickmane, cause we're informal like that.

Donald is Donald, Huey, Dewey and Luwey are Huguinho, Zezinho and Luisinho, chidish forms of Hugo, José and Luis. Daisy is Margarida which is a direct transalation.

Launchpad's comedy will probably come from his own clumsiness while Donald's will come from others attacking him.

I like it, even with all that reddit tier voicing cast.

Hope it goes good.

Triplets's personalities are a bit Osomatusu-san tier tho

>Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in!

>Mrs. Beakley is vocied by Toks Olagundoye

Wait wat

>Look her up
>Was in an ABC sitcom
That explains it

>Triplets's personalities are a bit Osomatusu-san tier tho
Wouldn't that be a good thing?

Yes, but just too used alredy 1 color = 1 kind of personality

dolan be lookin fine

Norwegian hes SKrue mcduck Scrooge being replaced with the norwegian word for "screw" because of similarity
as for donald i know the scandi names
Donald duck (norwegian) because why not
Kalle anka (sweeden) Kalle being a name and anka being "duck"
Anders And (denmark) Same as Sweeden

I think both Donald and Launchpad will have some clumsiness (balanced out by some occasional heroic actions).
But while Launchpad will probably be laid-back and just accept it (sneks fell on me, oh well, could be worse), Donald will react aggressively (quack-rage and flipping out and getting angry at everything).

In Italian he's called Paperon de' Paperoni (BigDuck McBigDucks, with the "de'" being the closest thing to the Scottish Mc i guess, also the long redundant name gives an old timey vibe)

>there will never be an adaption of Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck

That's just in spain, in latinamerican spanish he's Ciro Peraloca.

The closest we got would be Dofus: Treasures of Kerubim. That would be the perfect format for Life and Times.
Oh, and there was a single Duck Tales episode I guess.

There probably won't be much of Life and Times, but I do hope that they use some Don Rosa stories as inspiration in same vein as they used Barks stories in the original series.
