Did they get the absolute worst voice actor to replace Mako?

Did they get the absolute worst voice actor to replace Mako?

It didnt even sound like someone was even doing Aku's voice on the phone.

That's the reason Aku won't show up until the season finale. That aku woman is the new main villain.

Yeah, it's weird considering he did a good job replacing Mako in Avatar.

His Iroh was really bad though.

Hold your tits, user. Aku will come back most likely never

They should have just called Adobe and copied all of their voice samples of Mako and use that new program they have to make any voice.

It sounded alright to me.

Sounds pretty bad to me, very choppy and unnatural. I've heard better sentence mixing done by prepubescent YouTubers.

He didn't tho.

Well the build they showed at this conference is now over a year old and done in fucking 5 seconds. Im sure they can edit it however they liked afterwards

Aku is an old man now

He's literally evil personified he doesnt get old. He was the same when jack fought him in the past and when he saw him in the future

aku is a shapeshifter so maybe he just changed his vocal cords

>Aku is an old man now
He sounded the same 100 years after his release and another century or more.
What's the change in the 50 year time?

Mako had such a unique voice it would've been literally impossible to find a true soundalike.

Mako was an old man, too.

Thats just untrue. 7 billion people on this planet you expect me to believe their isnt one soundalike

he fucked off the planet entirely, enchanting a body double to take care of things for him. the new guy can't even make time portals. while Jack manages to liberate the world in the end, he is denied not only being able to go home, but also denied the closure of killing the real Aku

It's like how Asians look the same for 60 years and then suddenly age all at once.

>coming up with such a shitty-sounding theory just because Baldwin's Aku not sounding exactly like Mako's
Stop.

We only heard the voice coming through a broken phone

eh,I'll give it a pass until Aku actually shows up, what do you want them to do, revive Mako?

>the Aku woman is Jacks mom
>all those female assassins are Jacks half-sisters
If this or anything close to this is the truth then AS really jumped the shark on this little project

Look, Mako's been dead for over 10 years. Just accept that Baldwin is the lower-end replacement of him, alright?

He looks/sounds nothing like Jack's mom.

I'm really sicking of seeing "Jack is related to the daughters!" theories just because they're Japanese, too.

I feel like the guy who did the voice for Ah Puch could probably pull off a good Aku if he really tried.

I'm just gonna say, did she boink Aku or what?
Also that woman is a beast if immediately after giving birth she got up and started moving without sounding like she just shot 7 watermelons out of her.

Its sad they couldn't get a good soundalike and now hes only going to be in the show sparsely

>now hes only going to be in the show sparsely
So... no difference from the first four seasons?

Well its going to be much sparser than that

He shows up in the first scene of the next episode.

Given what we know, not really. Hell, the first thing we saw from the new season was a storyboard of him.

This is going to make for amazing flash porn parodies one day.

>Aku is a depressed personification of evil right now
ftfy

We've barely heard him yet, so I don't think it's fair to judge.

Incorrect, according to the LA screening Aku gets a starring scene at the beginning of next week's episode youtube.com/watch?v=OQFLmFaduak

That's not the scene next episode, FYI. The scene is Aku groggily getting up in the morning and then seeing his therapist.

> TheMaster of Masters, the Deliverer of Darkness, the Shogun of Sorrow, AKUUUUU has ennui

Well you have to knock off a few billion because they wouldn't have anything close to the same accent or be capable of using the same phonemes.

Then take off a couple more billion from people with similar accents and phonemes but different enough to distinguish.

The take off a large percentage of what's left considering how many people are actually trained voice actors.

THEN you factor in the general uniqueness of his voice.

One day soon, we will literally be able to take sound clips from TV shows and greentext from lewd threads and make magic. Anything our depraved minds can imagine.

2017 is going to be a magical year, boys.

>Mako's been dead for over 10 years
What the fuck

Can any of you "VA experts" find a better Mako imitator than the guy who literally worked under him when he was still alive?

Besides, it's pretty dumb to think Aku's new VA is shit over a garbled phone call that's likely not him to begin with.

>Besides, it's pretty dumb to think Aku's new VA is shit over a garbled phone call that's likely not him to begin with.
We've been over this. It's Baldwin's voice. The credits confirm it.

>There have been a lot of internet theories about how you’d handle Mako’s absence. Greg Baldwin replaced him convincingly on the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it’s been widely assumed he’d be your solution here. Did you hire him to do Aku’s voice?

>It was hard. For a while, I thought we should reimagine Aku with a different voice, perhaps even use a different character. But then I realized I love Aku too much, so we auditioned a few people, and Greg really did the best job. Honestly, nobody can replace Mako, he was that special, that unique, especially the performance he made for Aku. But Greg did really well. On the last episode, Mako’s daughter and grandson came by, and they watched him record, and they were crying. It was really amazing, because they heard the voice of their dad and grandfather.

Baldwin got Mako's family's thumbs up.

MALAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEE..

That's pretty awesome they approve of his rendition.

considering 99.99% of those are not voice actors, yes.

Ah my bad, sorry.
