I don't think any of his films are exclusively set in winter, but I find I get really into Wes Anderson during the winter months. All those comfy interiors are perfect winter kino.

Silent Night Deadly Night 2

The Road

The Shining.

Band of Brothers, with a particular emphasis on episodes 5, 6, and 7.

The Hateful Eight

Fargo and Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter

Eyes Wide Shut

I wish I waited a few months before watching this, would've been 10/10 in the cold and snow.

both

There Will Be Blood is surprisingly good non-holiday winterkino. I also enjoy watching pre-New Hollywood films this time of year, culminating with "It's A Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve.

The thing

Eternal Sunshine
Grand Budapest

Branagh's Hamlet is snow kino

It's a Wonderful Life.

Pine Barrens episode of the Sopranos

I watched The Shining during one winter where I was deathly ill and it fucking sucked.

This, excited to watch it with a cup of tea on a cold day while Christmas lights illuminate the room

the one and only true, christmas film

The Colony (2013) is pretty comfy.

Thanks for the list, but it's still not that many considering the amount of westerns there are

It's never explained.

The climax of Shoot the Piano Player

this

how about dead snow. its nazi zombies and snow what more could you ask for.

Misread that as Dead Zone and it was still good for the thread.

Winter Brothers is a great new one.

Lazorova is great but Vlacils best film is Adelheid by far

t. woman

its from the movie Ida

>McCabe & Mrs Miller
God damn this film had expert location and weather shooting. Altman is a master. I wish people talked about him more around here.

>my soul when I realize films barely shoot in cool locations or have any attention to historical or environmental detail anymore

Fuck that scene with the group of skinys in the basement

Call me a open but I really enjoyed 30 Days of Night and Snowpiercer. Also The Revenant can be comfy when it's dark and cold af outside and you're bundled up and warm inside.

:3

Came for The Thing and Fargo, got The Thing and Fargo. gj anons.

dont forget to leave an upvote! :)

Most of my "go-to" films have been posted.

Id add:
>Winter's bone
>White Fang

Those are like, the most basic and well known films that take place in the snow and the same films repeated in EVERY thread. You should come for new suggestions, not to reaffirm what you already know

putlocker idk be warned it's very very slow

I don't know about you all but this is about the time of year where I start planning my marathon of the LotR Extended Editions.

>wait for a deep snow to barricade me inside
>get cozy under a blanket
>drink some Schnapps and hot chocolate while watching LoTR all day
