ITT: Iconic 90's movies

In other words, movies only 90's kids will understand.

Bump.

I remember this was in theaters for like an entire year.

G O A T

This is the quintessential 90s film. It espouses so much hope for the future, a high-tech future.

...

Blank Check

...

>Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole.

Is the scene with the blue alien chick singing kino?

this is 90s kino

these are shit and have nothing to do with 90s lifestyle

Every single scene from The Fifth Element is pure kino.

Back then the concept sounded AWESOME!

Well fuck me, you got me in the mood now. Gonna watch it again i guess.

...

I feel sorry for millennials who missed out on true 90's kino

Rookie of the year

>said the same people who thought Coming out of their Shells was a grand idea

this

Can't Hardly Wait

...

The first Scream is subversion kino.
The sequels are trash.

Can we talk about douche classics for a moment

The sequel is just as subversive.

Speed

>tfw you'll never be as cool as vanilla ice cool

>try to show how absurd slashers have become
>become a stupid slasher series yourself
You were the chosen one!

>saw it in theaters for 9th birthday
good times, got to bring two friends. They don't like Mortal Kombat now
>reptile

sorry meant this pic

yeah, it's a kinda postmodern 90s answer for 80s horrors. Really good one.

Recently reviewed this movie, it's a completely garbage that I used to like it in the late 90s

They both work when Ice is considered

I don't know. I still kinda find this one comfy.

That was Robert Rodriguez? Somehow never knew that.

>completely garbage that I used to like it in the late 90s
Every Robert Rodriguez movie ever.
His cuisine is good though.

>Clueless
or
>10 Things I Hate About You
you can only choose one

CON FUCKING AIR

>The Faculty
Had me pumped about entering high school as a 7th-8th grader. Boy, was I disappointed.

T2

Watching T1 and T2 in the hotel is the only thing I remember about my vacation to Greece as a kid.

I too watch Jontron.

>that was done in one take
>stunt man just climbs onto a moving truck no safety harnesses or anything like that like it's fucking nothing

Fuck I love that movie and all the documentary stuff about it. No film since has had that amount of detail and attention poured into every last shot.

One of the most unfortunate release timings imaginable.

What was it up against?

I M A G I N E

I really really liked this movie. Was on an Arnold kick and watched half his movies over 2-3 days, this was one of the best. surprised it did so lousy, the kid in T2 was way more obnoxious

face/off
gladiator
super mario bross movie
bodyguard

It opened a week after Jurassic Park and a week before Sleepless in Seattle.
Arnie claims he tried to get the studio to push it back a month, where it would have released alongside Coneheads, Another Stakeout, and Poetic Justice (?), but the studio told him that every lost week of summer was lost money.
Apparently they even tried to push it up to the same day as Jurassic Park.

Jesus. That’s rough.
>poetic justice
It’s the Tupac movie

Ohhhh right

>movies only 90's kids will understand
At least you admit that most of these are trash that you are attached to because you saw them when you were younger. In 20 years these threads will be filled with SW prequels, Pacific Rim and Deadpool. No hate on good old movies, but holy shit some of you guys have terrible taste.

I don't know what year it came out actually, but I sure saw it in the 90s a lot

>At least you admit that most of these are trash that you are attached to because you saw them when you were younger.
Exactly. Nothing wrong with that tbqhwy.

loved the toys, hated the movie

who thought it would be a good idea to have the hippie-furries as the good guys?

Kino

Should I watch this? I don't like Bill Murray

I unironically still like it.

>you'll never pop this in the VHS player again after watching your Saturday morning cartoons and not having a care in the world

I really don't either, but it was a good movie. It's not an AMAZING movie or anything, but it's one of those you kind of have to watch because everyone has seen it.

1984-1993 - 90s kids
1994-1997 - early-mid 2000s kids
1998-2003 - mid-late 2000s kids

>I don't like Bill Murray
What the fuck is wrong with you?

It's a great movie, but it's totally Bill Murray's movie

>VHS player
VCR, newfag

Same, it is a good action film. Since you like it, you should watch Blood In Blood Out.

Watch it for the episode where he stabs 3 tranny hookers to death before he wakes up

He was bad in Ghostbusters

When the fuck is the 4k disc supposed to hit

...

...

I’ll check it out. Have you seen showdown in Little Tokyo?

...

No but I will check it out.

Kek. I have this on vhs
>Chris penn, karate master

You have no idea how much fun this is.

Brandon lee
Dolph lundgren
Yakuza tiddies

how can these be "iconic" if they're "shit I've never heard of before and also literally shit" ?

This was the best in the series by far. Those Coliseum fight scenes are pure kino

you're a pleb

>hackers
>prime Jolie
>endlessly quotable
>perfect pacing
>great cast
>trash
You have to go back.

Literally LITERALLY my favorite villain death.
>The complete over-the-topness of it
>Arnie's one liner
>missile flying through a broken building right towards the baddies' chopper.

you didn't prove they're iconic
try again

>inb4 "Why Marv skelton?"

>prime Jolie is dirty and greasy even on screen
gross. Also it's ridiculous, they can't even act like they like each other, the only part that is kinda fun is Steve-O from SLC Punk

>"I WILL GET YOU BACK, EVIL BOSS!!" Gordon shouted at the top of lung.
