Was this show any good...

Was this show any good? I haven't had access to a television/computer since early 2000 and vaguely remember a bunch of my compatriots mentioning this a long time ago as not complete shit.

Yes, it was good.

>tfw no more Monk/Psych Fridays

It was a clever show about an autistic detective if I remember correctly.

>i haven't watched television or used a computer in nearly 20 years
>somehow i'm hip to Sup Forums

>early 2000
>hmmm when did Sup Forums launch

a lot of people seem to be saying it has an awful ending, if so that is most unfortunate.

Used to watch it with my mother, in all the years catching criminals only one episode had a non-white criminal, a black woman who it turned out was actually justified because the white guy she killed was racist (not a joke), Monk let her go of course.

Shitty crime solving anime. I would suggest Psycho Pass or Death Note.

USA Network used to be so comfy

f-for real?

(((monk)))

It is a very good show. When I was a kid I thought it was funny, but now that I'm an adult and I'm rewatching it on DVD, it's actually an incredibly touching show too. Whenever there's a scene about how much he misses his dead wife I almost cry. He really loved her.

I really enjoyed Monk, it was funny and clever, and Tony Shalboub plays the character perfectly.
I'm not usually into US crime/detective series but this is one I would recommend.

Well what do you expect when you have a have a side-plot running through all eight series? People got overhyped to find out the truth, and when it was revealed in the final episode a lot of people felt let down. I liked it though, the perfect conclusion to that sad story.

I think I remember that episode. I think you're misremembering. She killed the guy because he was responsible for the death of her parents.

Oh I forgot to add, the side characters in this are great

It's great abd reminescent of shows like Murder She Wrote and Columbo but with an autistic spin (Monk is OCD) it's comfy and digestible would be great to watch if you didn't have cable and only got one channel that showed Monk

Get some standards you pathetic fuck

yes, Sup Forums was around in 2003 right? fucking retard

lol I remember the obese bed bound billionaire guy once implied that he had videos of Monks assistant doing porn.

Monk is too pure, its too good for us
thats only because they never cast any black people at all

They had an episode with Snoop Dogg in it, and the story was centred around a murder committed in the rap music industry, and the victm and all the suspects were black. Don't talk about things you don't know.

>mfw during the "Here's what happened" reveals

One of the episodes I really liked was the one where he's in a gameshow and realises the host was helping another contestant cheat by holding the question card at different corners to indicate whether the answer was A, B, C or D..

My mum's favourite show not made in the 1970's.
The peak of the "American crime show with a twist" genre.

I like the one where they cast Elizabeth Perkins as nympho Marcia Brady.

>the trash strike episode where the "Here's what happened" is ridiculous

Monk was great with that stuff. I really liked the episodes where someone seemingly innocent is killed for no apparant good reason.

One episode was set in a Wall Mart type store right across a bank. One of the female employees was murdered and it was just because the killer was in second place for "employee of the month" and killing her would ensure she would get that title, which was important because it meant you got to park real close to the store and underneath that parking space was an entrance to the sewers which the killer and her accomplices used to break into the back from underneath.

>someone remembers Sup Forums or heard about it repeatedly
>discovers Sup Forums board

how fucking retarded are you actually?

>someone doesnt have tv or computer for 17 years
>comes to Sup Forums to talk about monk
how fucking retarded are you actually?

I don't really get how you find this unfeasible that somebody who was in jail or some shit wanted to find out about whether a show was good or not via Sup Forums.

Don't jails have tv's and internet these days anyway? You even get to bring your PS4. Depends on the crime and the state I suppose, but in any case it's almost impossible to have lived without access to television or internet for 20 years unless it was by choice,

Who was the best girl?

Clearly it was Natalie.
