Woa nelly

I haven't seen it since it aired, and I have no desire to watch it again. Sorry Korra.

I don't think that's a good way to convince someone to do something for you.

I'm watching it but please punch me anyway

Well, only one of those is guaranteed to put you to sleep, and it's not a punch from Korra.

You can't punch me if I don't watch your show. That's how fictional characters work, right?

Dumb frogposter

I already did. It's far from the worst thing I've ever watched, but it did have some significant flaws and was especially disappointing after ATLA. I'd still love to cum in your ass, though.

Why I can rewatch the entire Aang series but cant rewatch season 1 of korra?

It hurts a lot

...

Better than ATLA

Almost the same here, i just can't get myself to watch LoK season 4. Even book 2 i can get through again even if it is shit.

Because The Legend of Korra is written terribly and Korra herself is a massive cunt and literally the worst part of the show (besides fart bending)

Aang:
>air bender prodigy by age 12
>started training in water bending with Katara, finished with master Paku
>learned fire bending from master Jeong Jeong
>leaned earth bender from Toph, amazingly gifted blind earthbender

Meanwhile Korra learned fire, water and earth by herself at age 4. "I'm the avatar and you gotta deal with it!" and never learned air because she has a lack of spirituality (why? Never explained) and when she does learn both airbender techniques and airbending itself it has fuck all to do with spirituality

>every episode of Korra starts with that colossal Aang statue that is a giant dump on his legacy and everything he stood for

Poetry

Now you know why she loses every fight and fucks up in every season.

The difference comes down to the main character, how they earn their abilities, and the overall plot surrounding them.

Aang was a peaceloving 12 year old monk who had to deal with the fact that a) his entire race was dead and b) he had to face the firelord before Sozin's comet arrived. He was an all-around likeable character who had to rise up to the occasion, which made his struggles more engaging as a result.

Korra on the other hand starts out the series knowing all the elements, is trained since childhood to become the avatar, throws herself headlong into saving the world BECAUSE she's the avatar, and at the end of the day, she doesn't really accomplish much because she's bull-headed, emotional, reckless, and causes most of the problems within the show.

When you watch Aang, you think "man, I hope Aang and his friends succeed and HOLY CRAP, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!"

When you watch Korra, you think "goddamn it Korra, you should know better by now!"

So manchildren feel threatened by Korra's strong attitude. Gotcha.

I guess you're partly right, though i don't have a problem with Korra as a character, but with the way the writers treated her and concepts included in the show.
I mean even when she does think ahead and try the right approach she is punished for it by the plot. Example would be in her fight against Unavaatu she does actually try to dig into his body and drag out Raava, but isn't allowed to succeed for some reason. Only after Jinora does a thing does it work.

It's also not a problem for me that Korra was a gifted individual from the start, but rather that her strengths were never allowed to be strengths and her weaknesses were never used against her.

So my problem isn't really a difference in main character but that in Korras case, she isn't allowed to be a character that develops naturally over the couse of the story, but instead she (and everyone else really) is used as a device to move the arbitrary plot forward to whatever conclusion the writing team wants to impart to the viewers. Regardless of how well that "point" makes sense in the overall story and concept.

Which is extremely prevalent in Books 2 and 4.

i think bryke needs some therapy because literally every parent character in the series was a asshole or a failure.

And the fact that ATLA had a martial arts advisor and TLOK didnt was painfully obvious in all the fighting scenes.
ATLA was full of crazy fights, TLOK only had a few.

What's the point of being "strong and empowered" when you have to be saved from your own stupidity by everyone else?

Was there even a moment throughout the show where Korra actually accomplished something without the help of a 3rd party?

>ATLA was full of crazy fights
Please, ATLA is full of mediocre fights. People just hate Korra more so they don't notice the quality of Korra fight scenes.

I watched Korra, a decision I regret immensely. I would much rather have been punched.

I don't know, LoK had a good number of fight scenes, they just took it in a different direction.

Kuvira vs Su
Kuvira vs Korra inside the mech
Old Peeps vs the Red Lotus
Lin vs the de-benders on top of the Stadium
Korra vs the water councilman in his office
Kya vs Zaheer

Are just a few that come to mind. Maybe not as much as ATLA, but it certainly wasn't lacking.

>O-Our show isn't shit
>Y-You're shit!

Legend of Korra's bending lost any origin in the martial arts they were founded in

youtube.com/watch?v=EkIr7Wqr5FU

Compare that shit to youtube.com/watch?v=pqYY17r1UjQ where Korra (the fucking AVATAR) is getting her ass kicked. I mean, it's hilarious that once she loses the ability to go into the Avatar state she becomes powerless. She becomes absolutely usless when she can't go into God Mode at will.

The fights were one of the few things that Korra got right

>generally emphasise long range techniques
>wide stances, quick advances and retreats, kicking and leaping techniques, whirling circular blocks, quickness and agility, and finally aggressive attacks

See? This shit makes sense. Fire is long range because you don't want to burn yourself. You can be destructive and aggressive without fucking killing yourself

Meanwhile Korra does this shit youtube.com/watch?v=65G5ynm1d0Q

Not only does she not resort to water or air which would be AMAZING against a non-bender at close range, her firebending doesn't look anything like the martial arts origin which was everywhere in TLA

Jump to 2:10 youtu.be/i6ZYpawbAP4?t=2m10s

She is running up to a non-bender who specializes in close range combat, to use firebending which is inherently LONG RANGE

That's what fucking kills me the most, we have 61 episodes of AtLA to show how bending is supposed to work...and yet they ignore the basic principles started AtLA in favor of this new shit.

What's even worse about those particular clips, as well as most of the fight scenes as a whole involving Korra, is that she's been trained to be a combatant yet she rarely utilizes the strengths of her elements.

Fire for power/ranged, Water for finesse/melee, Earth for power/melee, Air for finesse/ranged.

It's not rocket science, yet we still get Korra going after a melee combatant with fire-bending.

Don't forget that she mostly uses fire despite the fact that it is her natural opposite as the show explained multiple times. They had no explanation for why this was different for Korra.

It's just like how they never explained why she has a complete absence of spirituality which is apparently a prerequisite for air bendering. Which yes the air nomads tended to be more spiritual because of their culture but never was spirituality a necessity for air bending.

There is just so much wrong with Korra. From the way she is a complete cunt to Tenzin IN FRONT OF HIS KIDS. I mean for fucks sake fast forward to 1:30 and watch how much of a retard she is youtube.com/watch?v=SohkMovvxHI

Out of everyone in that scene, the person who is the most immature and childish is Korra. That's insane

Avatarfagging (lol)
A nice way to start a thread. OP sucks huge cocks as always.

>Legend of Korra's bending lost any origin in the martial arts they were founded in
This. The charm of Avatar lay in discovering a fantasy world of magical kung fu, the spiritual, and eastern philosophical concepts. In Korra, there is no discovery, no kung fu, the spiritual is replaced by digimon and they shat all over the eastern philosophy.

>let's replace the amazing worldbuilding of ATLA with generic prohibition era bullshit

He didn't learn firebending from Jeong Jeong. He tried to but he burned Katara, because he was going out of cycle. He tried to learn firebending before Earth Bending. Instead Zuko & Dragons taught each other true firebending.

Korra was spiritually defective. Probably has to do with the fact Aang was so spiritual, and he was injured heavily in the avatar state. So Korra his reincarnation was physically gifted, but was spiritually clogged. Her breaking down and Aang coming in to her/his/their rescue was the final straw in opening herself up.

Of course that was ignored and she was still arrogant as ever. It took until the last season for that to change. However they also forced a romance that was never there.

It's stupidity. She makes stupid choices over and over and over again and it's tedious to watch

the point is that Aang learned the elements from effort and discipline. It was a journey that was reflected in the show. And he had natural struggles and limits.

Korra literally was gifted them from birth with no effort and shows a complete lack of discipline and maturity but has air bendering come to her from the "if you believe hard enough in a dire situation you'll succeed!" bullshit

Please punch me Korra!

remember when she failed at learning the air bending techniques after barely a day of trying so she burned down and destroyed the priceless relic used to teach airbending that was probably the last one in existence because she got angry and frustrated and threw a tantrum and when Tenzin explained to her what she did she didn't apologize at her horribly out of line behavior but instead took no responsibility for her actions and ridiculed and blamed him in front of his kids because he wasn't able to achieve in less than a week what the white lotus even weren't able to do after a decade and a half of trying?

Remember that? Remember how people actually like Korra has a character?

>Remember how people actually like Korra has a character?
Surely this can't be true. I mean, the porn is great, but liking her as a character? It is just too implausible.

People fucking love her. Then again they also love all the other shitheads in that show. The whole "team avatar" was so ham fisted

>People love fucking her.
FTFY

Just because something gets rule34 doesn't mean that people actually like the show, especially when people posts screenshots of all the sexy moments on sadpanda.
