It's sort of a more depressing version of something like Regular Show or Cheech and Chong.
Like, in the early strips it was just a stoner comedy (Plots like: LOL, Megg and Mogg gave Owl oregano and told him it was weed!). But later on there are strips all about how Megg will have severe depressive instances and can't get out of bed, or watch TV or be happy. Owl is the ultimate cuck, pining after a girl who he had a crush on in high school(who will never put out) to the point of financially supporting her even though she's abusive towards him.
