So I have a theory about future events based entirely on aesthetics and my preference for Amethyst.
So basically, Amethyst is the only crystal Gem with a new outfit for what has been many episodes. They've teased at the idea of Peridot getting a new form, but still Amethyst is the only one with a new form. The first time Amethyst (after Garnet and Pearl) reformed we got a new intro, and it's been that new intro ever since. So it would seem that the intro won't change again till we get some more new outfits.
So here's the theory: something big is going to happen, like the diamonds confront the Gems. Everybody gets poofed, everybody except Amethyst (and perhaps Steven, though maybe him getting pooped would add to the drama. Amethyst finds herself in a position where she has to save everyone, save their gems from being shattered. Now of course this doesn't mean I expect her to take the Diamonds head on. But I imagine her summoning some power in herself, finding some way of escape from destruction of her and her friends, and finding some place to hide from further pursuit. It would lead into a very dark part of the story. Maybe Steven loses hope, forcing Amethyst to do the pep talk or something, reminding him that all the Gems believe in him. As she does, the other Gems reform, adding their own words. Finally everyone has a new look, and is ready to begin the resistance against homeworld.
