The whole Apatow / McKay comedy of filming actors just riffing take after take is the worst thing to happen to comedy movies in a long time. There's more to film comedy than verbal, ideally. I think it's accurate. It has some genuinely funny moments but there's a good amount of material that didn't stick imo.
