So earlier this year, MDE refugees Charls Carrol and Andrew Ruse started up a website called "Bomb Strap" and as part of their merchandise/fundraising, they sold two production runs of "Golen Ticket" flashdrives of unreleased material.
Did anyone MDE fans buy them? Did they have any of the rumored cut sketches from World Peace or unreleased material from the famed MDE trailer video?

I sadly didn't get the first run of flash drive archives. But the only sketch that seemed to magically make it's way onto the web after it was shipped out was the knife school self-defense sketch. But it leaking was never confirmed to be from the flash drive.

Total fucking rip-off in that it had zero MDE material or even any of Charls' pre-MDE stuff (Black Country) or current stuff he's doing with Andrew Ruse or even videos of his recent Let' Play streams. Just a bunch of Liveleak videos and a half-assed put together baby's first red pill compilation on what is Pedowood and how to build a bunker.
Total rip-off in that I could have bought a regular 8G flash drive for half the price and just loaded it up with MDE/BC/BS shit I downloaded off of Youtube.
I got the second run of the Golden Tickets.. two of them actually, even though I ordered one. It is mostly boring bullshit and 'le randumb' picture/video files. There are some interesting things, however...

For what it's worth, Ruse and Carrol were both very vague about what, if any, extra content the flash drives would contain.
Also, I would not be shocked if releasing anything related to the TV show is off-limits while the rights issues remain super-vague. Cartoon Network has not yet written the show off for tax purposes yet, meaning in theory the show may eventually get reaired on TV one day. Also, there might be reversion rights where after so much time, Ruse and Hyde get ownership of the show back. Leaking stuff might void said reversion rights and get them sued.
So in short, you only really have yourself to blame for getting your hopes up. I bought one of the second release flash drives too. While the content was blah, Charls and Andrew did include a free copy of The Gonzo Tapes by Hunter Thompson, a copy of the the Sam Peckinpah film "Cross of Steel" and SimEarth. Which if I bought on my own, would have cost the price of three-four of the flash drives. So I guess I came up ahead in that regard.

To be fair, Sam's book was not half-assed. If anything, it was a huge leviathan of content that I still have only gotten about halfway through in terms of how much shit he crammed into a huge doorstop of a book.

After World Peace got canceled, Nick retired and Charles/Andrew teamed up for a new venture with it being heavily implied that they have all but officially severed ties with Sam. Also, Eric Hayden is in hiding and only now has recently resurfaced on camera after dodging one hell of a bullet dodge in terms of not being named in the various hit pieces about the show.

I think the first wave of flash drives were purposely left empty by Chris and Andrew, which made the sales pitch for them on their website all the more crueler. Some people did complain when they got their flash drive and the mystery content it was supposed to be loaded with was not there. IIRC they blamed the post office for "erasing it" and there was vague mentions of "making it right" that never got followed up on.
The second round of flash drives got delayed for like an eternity because other items being sold at the time with it were delayed and some items didn't even get made to order. Again, excuses were made, though unlike the first time they openly told people they could ask (and get) a refund no question asked.
The fact that they did a second run of the flash drivers implies that C&A knew that there was a belief from customers, that the drive would contain unreleased MDE material as part of their shady sales pitch for the devices. The wholesale silence on the issue helps them; no one knows WHAT the original flash drives had on them, so who is to say if the contents of the second one were the same or if they flung a bunch of new stuff onto it and hoped no one would notice/chalk up getting scammed without a fuss?
If and when they do a third run, I would hope they would just be honest and say "You are paying for a flash drive with nothing on it".

It's funny and fairly good value BUT it is also kind of half assed. It feels like a dropbox full of cutting room floor MDE content, some of it gold, some of it horrible, and the formatting is attrocious. idk if they fixed it on the second run but my copy had heaps of bordering issues, blank pages and lazy shit that really should have been cut.
so basically they're scammers? got it. if they're this incompetent with the people that actually give 2 shits about what they're doing i can only imagine what it was like dealing with them as an exec. they are probably just as responsible for getting the show thrown in the trash as Sam.
I think a lot of this shit could have been avoided if:
1. MDE would state upfront what the current status is for World Peace and any unaired footage relating to it. If it's all stuck in legal limbo and can't be leaked online without the gang being sued/losing any chance of regaining ownership of the show later down the line, they should just fucking say so. Save us a lot of time and trouble wondering if and when it will ever show up.
2. If Bomb Strap had been upfront with what they were actually selling with the flash drives and any bonus content that might just so happened to go onto it.
say what you want about tim heidecker but if you buy a shirt or an autographed poster from him it will probably come in a week and will be exactly what was advertised.

The only thing they've said about their unaired WP sketches is that they have no intention of releasing them just because. However, they did release the unaired pilot (which contains an extended version of the Dads sketch and other sketches which went longer/were different from what ultimately aired, plus had previously unseen sketches between segments) so who knows.
There is also the matter of the Knife Training sketch being leaked by a third party. Again, no official announcement made about it or who leaked it. Only the fact that it leaked out after the first batch of flash drives came out. Which further fueled the "flash drives contains unaired MDE sketches" speculation.

Any implications that it was going to have anything in it was pure projection from people who assumed that Ruse and Charls, now blackballed from the entertainment industry, would say "Fuck it" and use the flash drive to release everything they have been sitting on that was unaired on the show.
If anything, Ruse and Carrol simply messed up by not saying what they were going to include and not include.

Tim and Eric were Odenkirk's revenge on Hollywood/the entertainment industry after Run Ronnie Run got raped by the studio that released it. A pair so unfunny that they made comedy worse than it was before they got a mainstream platform for their garbage.
Odenkirk cashed in every favor he had at the time to get celebrities to show up on T&E's shows. Which in turn caused star fckers at Adult Swim to keep renewing T&E's crap.
It shows how their support for T&E died around the time Odenkirk resurrected his career from the ashes/finally became a bigger star than David Cross, via Breaking Bad. Once Odenkirk became a big name again, T&E got canceled and Tim's own shows, post-Odenkirk, have been one flop after another.

The more time passes the more it becomes clear that Nick was the true brains of the entire outfit.
It was Nick who managed to wine and dine Mike Lazzlo into giving them their own show and brought the show in under budget (which was a big thing as Lazzlo only greenlighted it because Nick convinced the guy they could do the show for a fraction of what Tim or The State guys could).

Erik Hayden was the rich kid friend of Charles and Nick who took the summer off from working at his daddy's company to be Andrew Ruse's assistant/extra on the show, yet somehow not only steals the show from Sam in terms of being the break-out actor on it, but manages to walk away from the entire collapse of the show untouched and barely aware of how close he came to bringing ruin and humiliation and pariahdom to his family.
And Andrew Ruse is an art school wannabe director who cant keep Sam in check and who has some decent ideas but zero way to make them a reality.

What gets me about Sam is despite a big part of his humor being brutal satire and takedowns of greedy narcissists and burnout losers, he really has become what MDE is meant to be against.
Tim and Eric was never funny and hated from day one; and the only sketches from T&RASGJ that ever had any traction was the Will Forte sketches which T&E were not even in.
Mike Lazzo only tolerated T&E so long as they could get Odenkirk to return Lazzlo's calls. Once that stopped, ASGJ got canceled with a whimper, Bedtime Stories became something ran only in the dead months and sporatically at that, and even Tim's role in the cancelation of WO (which was a Lazzlo pet project) was not unpunished; Decker Declassified and Bedtime Stories were both canceled and their remaining episodes burnt off two episodes per week
There are a few people at Adult Swim who still want more World Peace, including big boys like Lazzo and Tyler, the Creator. Considering how shit the current line-up is, making more of this cheap, semi-popular show really makes sense, it's just difficult because of all the PR nonsense.

Did you actually purchase either of the flash drives? Like I also received mine and can confirm it had various pictures from the sets amongst other stuff. When the second flash drive didn't come in with the straw dogs shirt I ordered, I contacted their support email for merch and they got the flash drive emailed to me within a week.
