What is she, /swco/?

member Thrawn?

I don't want to lost thrawn's kickass Star Destroyer

The ISD doesn't do anything special, how is it kickass? Any ISD could get the paint job.

>this is new Star Wars canon

It's art you wouldn't understand

What's the problem with it?

There was a time when Pepe posting meant something.
Now is not that time.

>what's the problem with kingdom hearts deviantart shit being spraypainted on imperial destroyers

How does your breath smell after eating so much shit?

It's a fucking star destroyer

objectively the best ship

...

I am so happy that I am not a salty fucker like you who cant enjoy anything

>m-muh EU

It's symbolic you fucking walnut

>he posts, in a thread that only enjoys Star Wars: Rebels

>"Trust goes a long way, user. I trust you won't overstep your, *tee-hee*, boundaries, right?

>No signs of any degeneration
That's what YOU think!

What's a likely starship for an independent hyperspace scout? pre TFA, wild space centric, canon friendly.

>*tee-hee*
Severely out of character.

She's better than Leia.

god damn i wanna coat that thing in cum

Why did she have a German accent?

Digits confirm, only question is ISD1 or ISD2 as your flagship?

>I can't believe you're here, /swco/, I wanted to find you, but I guess you found me first.
>I know you, don't I?
>You remember? I'm the vidya games board, I supported the Uprising team and the actions they took against the practices of EA's other titles, it's part of the reason I was accused of online harassment, and put on a shit list with them.
>then you you know what happened to them?
>...Yes, I do.
>...Their game's dead isn't it?
>I'm sorry son, it is.
>...Please tell me what happened.
>You know, even at risk of shut down they stood up for practices that defended those who couldn't pay to play. Especially after they heard about your clan and feelings for the game, yes that made its way into the deepest dark of EA subsidiary offices. They were emboldened by it, /swco/. They rallied their team to rise up and break down the only pay2win aspect left in their game. Poorfags, misers, the budget-minded, their wallets are free thanks to them.
>but they didn't make it.
>They got caught with low returns in the excitement, it was just like them not to hide it in the face of punishment. By the time they'd implemented everything in the game completely, it was too late.
>How, how did they know who we were?
>Your clan name, your feelings on old titles they'd worked on like KOTOR, how you cared about game aspects in general? They knew right away it was like-minded folks like you.
>you know, they were the type to always say, if we can't stand by our product, who will?
youtu.be/RBGnE5l4kwE

Seeing cheesecake of a real living person weirds me out so much. Anyone else feel this way?

Who is best astromech?

I fucking loved BB-8. No matter what you people say.

...

So you came back to die with your city?

...

Not if she was out selling her body for food/board after the Partisans abandon her.

What do you think about the Princess Leia stuff?

BB-8 was fun but like most things in that move, was rendered pointless half way through.

I'm sure all these characters will get the development they deserve this time... except Maz. Fuck Maz.

*corrupts thread*

I just liked the design. 2bh I was never a fan of R2 until I saw TCW, and it's my second favourite mech. If we were picking between mechs and drods, K2 would be at the top. Hands down.

yeah same. Also all that harry potter porn out there. Its a weird idealized version of a real person and its just so off putting. I don't have the same feeling with a character like Miranda from Mass Effect though. Her face is based off of that actress but because shes a videogame character and not a movie/tv character its different.

Chopper

>30 years between ROTJ and TFA
>NuCanon has the Galactic Civil War end a year after Endor even though in the EU it didn't end until 14 years after Endor

fucking WHY
first off that's a stupid decision from a storytelling standpoint because now they've eliminated the possibility of any stories regarding the remnants of the Empire post-Endor that don't take place within the year

jesus christ, by the point TFA takes place, the old EU would have already finished the Yuuzhan Vong War. I really hope the new canon fills in the blanks for those 30 years with good stories but they really wrote themselves into a corner since nothing can happen on a big scale that won't contradict what's been established in TFA, and there's not much they can do with Luke/Han/Leia

why didn't they just rewrite the Thrawn trilogy to make more sense in the current canon. There's so much shit from the EU that they still would have been able to include had they not decided to end the war after a year

The canon is meant to be different from the old EU.

>watching the behind the scenes extras from Rogue One
>Felicity Jones talking about constantly reading Wookiepedia in her spare time

d-do you think she found the article about breasts

R2-D2 until he suddenly had the ability to fly in Episode II and George retconned him into being a lazy bastard in the original trilogy who just wheeled around

Why the fuck do you want the GCW to drag on over a fucking decade after ROTJ?

The Battle of Endor was the catalyst to the Empire losing, dragging it on like that renders shit fucking useless.

The fuck user

Who /CISscum/ here?

Guilty as charged

Friendly reminder that had the war dragged on the CIS would have eventually won

I think his point is that TFA unnecessarily crimps the stories you can tell in between ROTJ and it. It can't, as he says, be anything really good or interesting, because Han, Luke, and Leia have to get where they are by the time TFA starts, and where they are isn't terribly interesting.

If Dooku were to have a novel (author doesn't matter), how would you want to see it connected to the canon, outside of the obvious Prequel connection? The catch: it has to connect to the new canon contributions that are ongoing now; it can't be standalone (which means Unknown Regions related)

Anyone have a download for Rogue One?

Is the name Mitth'raw'nuruodo canon?

>There can't be peace in the galaxy for once

I FOUND IT THE BEST SHIP IN ALL OF STAR WARS

archiveofourown.org/works/9678380

>express.co.uk/entertainment/films/779701/Star-Wars-Thrawn-novel-World-EXCLUSIVE-extract-Timothy-Zahn-release-date-Eli-Parck
> “Mitth’raw’nuruodo,” he said, bringing his glowing eyes back to Parck. “But I believe it would be easier for you to call me Thrawn.”

You could say that about any gap in the franchise that isn't open-ended.

His point isn't wrong at all, it's a very common opinion on /swco/ that ROTJ->TFA is severely restricted in potential.

But pointing to the EU isn't really a good alternative. Dragging on the war for almost 2 decades, and fighting extra-galactic aliens is not exactly what I would call better.

Thanks.

what he said:
there can only be stories about either original characters that can't be fleshed out too much without their absence in the sequel trilogy seem out of place, or about ones we don't see in TFA like Wedge and Lando. Speaking of which has Lando been mentioned at all in the NuCanon? Or has Lucasfilm said why he wasn't in TFA? I know Wedge wasn't because Dennis Lawson didn't want to be in it, but Billy Dee seemed game and they're having the character play a role in the Han Solo film. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I know Billy Dee Williams looks like shit but if Mark Hamill was able to unJUST himself the way he did I'm sure BDW could clean himself up a lil bit.

Holy shit

>Thrawn will never watch over you in the medbay and worry

All Hamill had to do was lose weight. Billy Dee can't lose decades of aging.

well no, I wasn't saying that they should just follow the EU directly, but I brought it up as a comparison to show the difference in the amount of things that have happened in the 30 years since ROTJ in the EU and in the current canon

Current canon is only a few years old m8

We have three books on the first year after ROTJ alone, and while those aren't the best, theres also the fan-favorite Bloodline.

Sure the OT characters in particular are restrained by TFA, but theres still stories that can be told with them, or newer characters, or original characters.

The Galaxy doesn't have to be at war for good stories to show up, Bloodlines is proof of that.

>Star Wars
>there's no wars
wooooooooow

>Speaking of which has Lando been mentioned at all in the NuCanon? Or has Lucasfilm said why he wasn't in TFA?
He's mentioned in Bloodline. They don't go into detail of what he's been up to but he apparently kept in touch with Han and Leia since he's one of the people sending Leia messages of support after her relation to Vader is publicly outed.

As for why he wasn't in TFA, apparently they did offer him a cameo but he couldn't do it because he wasn't feeling well at the time they were shooting. No idea how true that is, though.

it's bizarre to me that they wouldn't utilize him as a lead character in a story set after Jedi, especially since he was a major character in the OT and we don't know his fate, which would at least add some level of "will he make it out of this" that we wouldn't get from something involving Luke/Leia/Han

>mfw it just dawned on me that the possible final film in the main Star Wars saga is going to be written and directed by Colin Treverrow

fucking hell, I really hope it's not as bland and braindead as Jurassic World was

I wonder if Disney's rethinking that at all. I mean, fuck, does Treverrow have any major films to his name besides JW? He seems ill prepared to handle something as important as the final movie of the ST. At least Johnson has a couple of major studio films under his belt.

>it's not from the 80s so its bland

Because it's a GALACTIC empire. It has millions of ships under it's reach and thousands of star systems.

I wouldn't mind a shorter campaign but one year is way too short. Five would be good. Maybe three or four. But one year and then an immediate de escalation is retarded and every novel showing imperial perspective portrays it as such. Shit lost stars has the imperial remnant attacking the republic IMMEDIATELY.

Compared to what it could have been, Jurassic World was a 10/10

Trevorrow salvaged a complete mess into a semi-decent film.

>does Treverrow have any major films to his name besides JW
Safety Not Guaranteed

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_Not_Guaranteed

It was very well received by critics and won multiple awards

the fuck kind of bait is this, that doesn't even remotely make sense considering the original Jurassic Park came out in 1993

Jurassic park is from the 90s you pleb

they associate me as such, i dont give two dicks about a damn thing.

>Compared to what it could have been, Jurassic World was a 10/10

replace "Jurassic World" with literally any movie title and that argument still works. Any movie could be terrible, the fact that a movie isn't awful shouldn't automatically make it good

Except no stories anyone gives a fuck about are there. Lost stars is ok but it's feeding into nothing since all those characters got abandoned just like every other book protagonist.

Proud of it and my sweet little droidekas.

The CIS threw the game too in my book.

>replace "Jurassic World" with literally any movie title and that argument still works.
Not really

>Any movie could be terrible,
No

>the fact that a movie isn't awful shouldn't automatically make it good
Why not? Have you seen what Jurassic Park 4 would've been?

Jurassic World was not terrible. It's not great or as good as the first film but it's not bad. It was enjoyable enough and decent. I'd take it over what Jurassic Park 4 could've been any day

>coming to Star Wars gen for good film opinions

the one place on this earth where episodes 1-6 are KINO

>Friendly reminder that had the war dragged on the CIS would have eventually won

Like all the Nazis such as Manstein who claimed they could have won WW2 if not for Hitler. You don't get to fight your wars after you lost.

The thing about Jurassic World is that it's the ultimate example of "effects driven spectacle movie makes lots of money in countries that don't speak English."

The visuals and the effects and the setpieces matter a lot more if you want to make money in, say, China or Brazil or Nigeria. And Jurassic World has the best CGI creations you could possibly have. I mean, fucking dinosaurs. Everybody loves dinosaurs. Every single person on the planet loves dinosaurs and thinks they're cool as shit. So a movie that prominently features dinosaurs walking, stampeding, fighting, hunting, etc. is going to make serious bank, no matter how good, or bad, a movie it is.

So, basically, JW's success was more guaranteed than any other modern blockbuster's, and I don't think we can take from it a good idea of how Trevarrow will handle Episode 9.

also you can take from it that a guy who directed one well known movie doesnt have a fucking track record yet you dense cunts

>talking about film in the only place on god's given earth that loves Attack of the Clones

just leave

>not liking Attack of the Kino

You leave

>ywn command a ship full of semi competent B1s and have a blast doing so

up there in Worst Movies Ever tm whoops sorry i mean Based Movies ever

Yeah, I'm well aware of the dinosaur-human hybrid soldier shit they wanted to do, I even have a copy of that script somewhere on my computer, but just because he didn't make that movie doesn't make it good.

My main issues with Treverrow are his directing style (super basic with awful color grading) and how the characters were written (I walked out of the theater realizing I didn't even remember their names because of how forgettable they were)

None of those have to do with "what could have been", they have to do with what we got

Why are you here?

What went wrong?

but you know Rey and Finn's names why?

Rian Johnson has more optimism among the fans mostly because of his episodes of Breaking Bad, not because of Looper or his other movies (and that's not a criticism of them). Treverrow has more experience with blockbusters with big budgets, yet Johnson is expected to deliver a quality film while Treverrow has people worried

Why are there still RLM faggots here? Didn't they neck themselves after the RO debacle?

So TFA is /ourmovie/ then?

If you actually think the characters in The Force Awakens were as bad and underdeveloped as the ones in Jurassic World then I don't know what to tell you

(You)

Hell no

well obviously they were seeing as TFA has more flack than Jurassic World

3 years of nonstop clone wars and nonstop cocaine

>I've seen FOOTAGE

I found it rather odd that it wasn't until I watched Rogue One in private that I found myself appreciating the way she filled that shirt.

from who? critics? fanboys? 1/3 of the original Jurassic Park movies were considered classics, JW didn't have the fanbase or hype leading up to it that TFA did. I rarely see it talked about at all, while TFA is discussed daily

did you even read my post? TFA has much more shit thrown at it than JW and obviously the characters being "better" didn't stop it from being hated because SW fans don't give a shit about characters

I thought Looper was a big part of our optimism for Rian.
