Has Sam Neill ever spoken about Lovecraft? He has at least three movies with Lovecraftian themes, but I'm not sure he has ever talked about him or his work.

explain how it's not?

what are some essential Samimatic Neilliverse films?
whats the chronological order?

This is the truth why we will never have a movie based on Lovecraft

Lovecraft was a white loser writer who wrote for low-quality magazines.

Nothing he wrote can be compared to works by modern authors.

The only fans of this mediocre are edgy and lonely semi-illiterate boys and racist right-wingers.

> He was a beta that in the whole life only managed to have sex with a woman, for pity.

> He was an affected racist, his hatred of minorities was a shame even at that time

> He was totally devoid of talent, skill and experience, his works were limited to a few pages without a deep narrative and really complex characters, all of them imitations of himself, an incapable, boring and pathetic white male

> It was too anglo, all his work is based on the limited spectrum of the life of an anglo-saxon man.

> Even though he was only focused on this limited racist expectation of an Anglo-Saxon, he was unable to create characters with whom we can identify with ourselves. Even if you are a descendant of Anglo-Saxons, you cannot identify with his racist and poorly educated characters.

> His scientific knowledge was pathetic even for works from the early 20th century. There would be great difficulty in adapting his lack of knowledge to intelligent content for modern audiences.

> Lack of economic and political knowledge. He flirts several times with eugenic and socialist conduct. Had he lived long enough, he would probably be an admirer of Hitler. This lack of knowledge in these issues makes their work become even more outdated and less complex.

> Total lack of subtexts. He probably did not even know what that word means. He also had an extraordinarily poor vocabulary.

In summary, Lovecraft is a lame """"""""""artist"""""""""", his work is incapable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste.

Hollywood understands this and seeks to stay away from the pitiful quality and racism that the name Lovecraft is eternally bound.

Here is an example of the """"""""legacy"""""""" of Lovecraft

>Hollywood understands this
No they understand that mindless normies can't live without happy endings and straightforward, explainable plots
Just look at Disney

>Normies
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, SHADILAY MY DUDE

...

>posting this in both of your threads

>Avatar is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Captain America Civil War is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Beauty and the Beast Reloaded is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Titanic is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Avengers: Age of Ultron is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Avengers is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste
>Frozen is a work capable of captivating people endowed with education, imagination and taste

guilermo del toro cant do horror for shit, his monsters are too cool to be scary

He can't direct very well but I think if he were to stick to production/art design and put a good director at the helm you could make some really cool horror movies

Horror and "scary" aren't the same thing

The Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth is scary tbqh

Only the second one though.

First one is pure sword and sorcery.

>who wrote for low-quality magazines.
Okay, and so have a lot of writers, I'm failing to see your point here.

>Nothing he wrote can be compared to works by modern authors.
Modern authors aren't all that good to begin, so I mean...*shrugs*

> only fans of this mediocre are edgy and lonely semi-illiterate boys and racist right-wingers.
What?

> He was a beta that in the whole life only managed to have sex with a woman, for pity.
That's actually debateable, since he died without having a child, so he very well may have died a NEET virgin, I won't argue that, he was terrified of women and vagina's and relationships.

>He was an affected racist, his hatred of minorities was a shame even at that time
Okay.

>He was totally devoid of talent, skill and experience, his works were limited to a few pages without a deep narrative and really complex characters, all of them imitations of himself, an incapable, boring and pathetic white male
I haven't read all of his stuff, but he does know how to write and create mood, atmosphere, mythos, and develop a psyche for his characters.

>it was too anglo
Okay.

>he was unable to create characters with whom we can identify with ourselves. Even if you are a descendant of Anglo-Saxons, you cannot identify with his racist and poorly educated characters.
But you don't need to identify with a character in order to read a work. I don't identify with Martian Manhunter or Hunter Rose, it doesn't mean I can't read it.

>His scientific knowledge was pathetic
He wasn't known for his scientific knowledge, but okay.

>Lack of economic and political knowledge. He flirts several-yadda yadda yadda
Okay.

>Total lack of subtexts.
What are you talking about? The entire cthulhu mythos is based on the subtext of human psychology witnessing the manifest horrors before our eyes.

Poor bait. 4/10. Come back when you have something more literary.

The Call of Cthulhu
The Whisperer in the Darkness

>only managed to have sex with a woman
What, does he have to extend to dogs and goats before he gets your approval?
