ITT: pretentious films

OP = pleb

>ITT: Films that men won't understand but women do

Jenna Malone's agent needs to be skinned alive, she's too good for this schlock.

I don't need a vagina to understand women are shallow, spineless creatures.

>Plebs actually believe this was pretentious or even close to an art-house film in anyway
fucking embarrassing

...

Women are cannibals?

Any movie that doesn't involve superpowers is pretentious.

The last hour made up for the neon demon.

Your tiny dick should no doubt suffice.

Nah

??
What is the pretense? seems a neutral experience.

Anything by Terrence Malik. Dorsnt mean it's not good

Why did this thread trigger soyboys so much?

...

unwatchably bad

>trigger soyboys

It's soycore you fucking mongoloid.

my favorite movie
dad said it was pretentious /:

That is pretentious

>dude muh digital color correction lmao
CHEETO

U
S
T

sure, i still love it

'Upstream Color' from that dickhead who directed 'Primer'. I love the movie anyway, though.

this movie was a total snorefest

...

>pretentious
Honestly one of the cancers killing the industry. The idea that any movie that is even slightly vague or leaves something to interpretation or has a theme is pretentious is garbage.

Beyond the black rainbow
Enter the void

is this meant to be satire

Good Time

Literally Coca Cola puberty: the movie

Makes me wonder how 2001: A Space Odyssey would be received by the general audiences today.

>people walking out and asking for their money back
>most of the audience sitting on their phones during the whole movie
>42% on rotten tomatoes
>various think pieces and articles written about the lack of diversity or women in the main cast

I did a presentation on 2001 in a speech class back in college and my professor said her parents took her to see it in theaters when she was like 12 and she loved it. WHEN SHE WAS 12. I'm not usually the one to think that people from previous generations are smarter in any given way, but sometimes I wonder. My parents took me to see Anaconda with J-Lo when I was 12

so who was the neon demon?

Kubrick was the Snyder of his generation. And not the other way around.

But Snyder is talented
why did they eat her
this is like a meme lasagna

This movie is fucking garbage.
Did Refn make this when he was in his first year of filmschool?

pretentious pleb bait*

there's no better example than this. i like it too

fuck off

ITT: stupid OPs

Was there even a plot? i watched it a while ago and forget

I wonder who's behind this post?

Not to mention its a rip off of Starry eyes

" women are boring monsters " the movie

To devour her essence and beauty. That's how Sarah or whatever her name is got the photographer guy to bring her in as a replacement in the final scenes. They're essentially vampires.

The neon demon is fame and its allure. Represented by the throbbing triangle thing seen during the first runway show

You could interpret it in many ways.

-The fashion industry
-The city (With all the lights and vapid entertainment), because there are many shots of the city as a whole
-Fame

refn is a hack

how so?

What movies does your dad like

thin red line
lawr of arabia
dr stangelove
blazing saddles

it's even worse than that, user

I get shit for loving this movie all the time. For me, it's a pretty simple allegory for alcoholism and regret but I've been told I'm reaching. Plot or no plot it's still a movie that makes me feel deeply, don't know what else you could ask for.

Amazing poster. I have not saw it before.
