What are the best current ongoing comic books?

What are the best current ongoing comic books?

Westcoast Avengers
Gwenpool
Mighty Thor

Dept H
Mirror
Lobster Johnson

>What are the best current ongoing comic books?

Black Hammer
Copra
Wicked + the Divine
Shutter
Ultimates2
Hulk
Wonder Woman
Doom Patrol
East of West
Injection
Sex Criminals
Nova
Silver Surfer
Green Lanterns
Shade the Changing Girl
Unworthy Thor
Bitch Planet

These are the ones I'm enjoying. Just off the top of my head. Shutter and Silver Surfer are ending soon.

>Westcoast Avengers
Ok, grampa.

The ten books that I look forward to the most are;
>Aquaman
>Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye
>Deathstroke
>Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme
>KISS
>New Super-Man
>Red Hood and the Outlaws
>The Unbelievable Gwenpool
>U.S.Avengers
>Wonder Woman
Honorable mentions
>Foolkiller (just ended)
>The Spirit: The Corpse Makers (mini)
>Violent Love (on hiatus until July)
>The Wild Storm (still building up)

I think it was a joke about either Ghost Rider or Occupy Avengers. Or some other book that I don't realize takes place on the West Coast.

What's it like to have autism?

You are the cancer killing comics.

Are you seriously asking that? Here? On a bangladeshian sonicfanfiction newsgroup?

That's only a third of my pull, there's plenty more cancer where that came from. And I buy them all every Wednesday to support them.

Only one, this

Doom Patrol, Shade The Changing Girl, Harrow County and Deathstroke.

My pull list is a little short at the moment, so I'll appreciate the recommendations too.
Anyway. here are my picks:

Doom Patrol
Cave Carson
The Flintstones
Providence
The Wild Strom
Rumble
Superman/Super Sons

Red Hood and the Outlaws
New Super-Man

They are the best comics I'm currently reading.

Dark Horse: Black Hammer, Harrow County
Marvel: Ultimates^2, Nova, USAvengers if you don't mind silliness
DC: Doom Patrol, Shade the Changing Girl, Cave Carson

Pull List:
Superman
Action Comics
New Superman
Kamandi Challenge
Future Quest
Flintstones
Head Lopper
Manifest Destiny
Lady Killer
Motro
Providence
Motor Girl

Future Quest and Action Comics are the weakest.

Moon Knight (although it's ending in 2 issues)
The Fix
Kill Or Be Killed

Future Quest at least has nice art most of the time. There aren't any redeeming qualities to Jurgens's Action tho, why is that man still allowed to write comics is beyond me.

Ether
Loose Ends
The Flintstones
John Carter The End
Doom Patrol
And slow ones: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Jupiter's Legacy

>You are the cancer killing comics.

What do you read?

You, supporting comics that are shit

>waaahhh people like stuff that I don't like!
kill yourself

>You, supporting comics that are shit

Why are they shit?

Why am I bad for buying comics?

What comics do you read?

>Future Quest
The pacing is just abysmal. It looks great and there have been really fun moments, but each issue feels like a "middle issue," which is awful for a twelve issue series.

Pitch The End for me. I love Barsoom stuff, but was turned off by finding the description too depressing a fate for John and Dejah after the happy ending they got in the books.

It feels like Millar's Starlight. You could read it like "What if?" story.

Shade
Doom Patrol
Superman
New Super-Man
Cyborg
Saga
Nova
Ultimates^2
Are what I'm reading.

oh wow the guy who called me cancer cant even name some comics he reads

Despite what autists on Sup Forums will say there is no "best" its just what you like personally, since personal opinion is .... actually a fucking thing that exists.

Heres my pull list

Batman
Superman
All-Star Batman
Supersons
Doom Patrol
Black Science
The Fix
Kill or be Killed
Ragnarok
Hellboy & BPRD: 195-whatever
Kamadi Challenge

I recently dropped Trinity and Cave Carson has a cybernetic eye, but only because i wasn't really feelin it after 5-6 issues, they're also perfectly decent books, I was just getting Trinity for Manapuls art, and he's needing fill-ins, so i can always grab a trade instead.

Top 10 of what I'm currently following:
1. Paper Girls
2. Deathstroke
3. Doom Patrol
4. Cannibal
5. Reborn
6. Shade, The Changing Girl
7. Motor Crush
8. Monstress
9. Southern Cross
10. Gotham Academy

Kamandi Challenge will make that list if it stays as great as the first two issues, and I was really impressed with the first issues of The Old Guard and Extremity too.

I'd also put Giant Days on there, but I've fallen a bit behind, so maybe it's gotten shit since I last read it.

I'm sticking with Kamandi challenge because good or bad, its just a 12 issue run and i like seeing creative teams go wild with things even if its just for 1 issue....

Its just a really fun concept that reminds me alot of something like Fifty-Two

Doom Patrol is the only real must have currently. Maybe Sheriff of Babylon too, if comics that are on an extended break but are supposed to get more issues eventually count.

For other good stuff, the whole Young Animal line has been pretty strong, and Flintstones is good enough if you like political comedy. Maybe the Archie horror comics if you can count them as ongoing.

Jurgens just puts out mediocre stuff and since it doesnt drop/rise above that he keeps getting to write bigger books for just coming into work each day
Here is some stuff that I pull that I like the most, no order
1. Supersons
2. Red Hood
3. Red Sonja
4. Doom Patrol - (It's weird though and I feel like I can't appreciate a lot of stuff because I haven't read/heard of them before. Seems like a lot of work was put into it though)

5. Aliens Defiance
6. Kill or be killed

I'm getting Providence in trades, and as a lovecraft fan I think its probably the most high quality comic coming out atm and its almost done

Seven to Eternity
Monstress
Autumnlands
Flintstones
He-Man and Thundercats
God Country
THe Black Monday Murders

tons of great ongoings. some come out more often than others. my current "ongoing" pull:

Archie
Betty and Veronica
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Josie and the Pussycats
The Dregs
Grass Kings
All-Star Batman
Cave Carson
Doom Patrol
The Flintstones
Shade the Changing Girl
The Wild Storm

All the Young Animal stuff
Flintstones
Deathstroke
Aquaman
All-Star Batman
Kamandi Challenge

Pretty much all Hellboy related stuff
Pretty much any indie stuff Remender, Hickman, and Brubaker are doing

...

X-O Manowar
Faith
Divinity III: Stalinverse
Bloodshot Reborn/Salvation
Harbinger: Renegade

Currently for me?

Superman/Action Comics
Batman
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Supergirl
The Flash
Hulk.

You fell for the trap. He doesn't read comics, just like the rest of Sup Forums. All they do is bitch about other people's taste and catch a random storytime every once in a while.

Deathstroke
Nova
Flash

>Stray Bullets
>Kill or be Killed
>Southern Bastards
>Royal City
>Grass Kings
>Deathstroke
>Doom Patrol
>Shade the Changing Girl
>War Stories
>Wildstorm
>Rebels
>Dregs
>Darkness Visible
>Black Hammer

>Red Hood and the Outlaws
Isn't that a Scott Lobdell comic? How can it be good?

Holy menstruation, user! You must be joking.

New Super-Man
Shade the Changing Girl
Gwenpool
Nova
COPRA

it's literately the best "Rebirth" DC has
Jurgens/Tomasi is the same boring stuff while Lobdell is writing as fresh as he did with GenX

Everyone should be reading great comics like America and Captain Marvel.

>ongoing
Isn't it just geek culture oreinted kiddie shit that is "ongoing"? Most comics for adults comes out in non serialised form nowadays and has been since the mid 90's.

The correct answer is ALWAYS Usagi Yojimbo

Invincible

>Dept H
I read it as 'Dial H' for a second and got really excited. I thought I missed it's return as an ongoing.

there are great graphic novels that come out all the time that are non-serialized, but most are european, but even some of those come out serialized via Heavy Metal. Unfortunately this board doesn't read comics, let alone european ones.

I just picked up the first two trades of Skydoll and that is amazing.

Uber and Invincible

Fight me

Good is a bit of a stretch, but Lobdell is probably the writer who's stepped up from what they were doing before more than anyone else in Rebirth. He went from putting out one of the worst comics at DC with occasional fun moments to putting out a mediocre to above average comic with a surprising amount of heart.

It's not even top 10 from DC right now in all honesty, certainly not one of the best things coming out from any publisher, but I can see how people would be impressed.

He said best.

Invincible by far

Here you go.

>Good is a bit of a stretch
It's actually an understatement.

I have read all the 8 issue plus the rebirth and I can say without hesitation that RHATO is freaking great and one of the best books DC is publishing right now.

*plus the rebirth issue

He-Man/Thundercats easily.

That's over and it wasn't good.

Shitty taste detected. He-Man/Thundercats was the best thing that came out from Rebirth. It had evrything epic plot, great villains, awesome fun moments. And it's having a sequel by the way.

Any upcoming ongoings that look particularly promising?

1. Stray Bullets
2. Mignolaverse
3. Outcast
4. Invisible Republic
5. Southern Bastards
6. Astro City
7. Birthright
8. East of West
9. Matt Kindt's Valiant Stuff
10. Nightwing
11. Clean Room
12. The Woods

Sam Kieth and John Layman have a new comic coming out.

The Bug from Young Animal seems nice

From Marvel I'm looking forward to Nick Fury, Ewing's Rocket, and Hastings' Groot mini.
DC has the second wave of HB books, I'm especially excited about Top Cat and Snagglepuss.
Dynamite caught my attention with Swordquest and The Greatest Adventure.
Rock Candy Mountain looks cool too, but I'm not familiar with the creator.

what the fuck

To each their own and everything but I'm just not seeing whatever you guys are seeing. A fine but unremarkable story with charming moments and mostly good characterization (not really feeling Artemis so far), but kind of iffy pacing, narration and dialogue and is overall somewhat forgettable. It's about exactly as most other Rebirth comics, maybe in the better half or so but it pales in comparison to stuff like Deathstroke and the Young Animal comics.

I agree with and keep an eye out for the eventual return of Sheriff of Babylon and a possible secret project from the Sheriff creative team. Snagglepuss had a pretty good preview.

Batman
Green lanterns
Nightwing
Hal Jordan
Black hammer
Bloodshot reborn
Moon knight
Nova
Super sons
Superman
Extremity
God country
Descender

Pretty much this.

>He's reading that shitty KISS comic
Jesus Christ, dude, get the fuck out.

Aquaman (best Rebirth book)
Superman (second best)
All Star Batman (since King's Batman fucking blows)
Daredevil (favorite character, can't not read his book)
Moon Knight (really love the art even tho the writing is hit and miss)
Deathstroke (really grew on me since the Chicago issue)
Super Sons (dat banter)
Nightwing (it's mostly shit but I like Nightwing)
Teen Titans (I like Damian, so what)
Titans (it's meh but I'm waiting for the eventual Deathstroke crossover)

I also started picking up Hal Jordan GL and The Flash recently and I really wish I hadn't slept on those books. Any other Rebirth books I missed out on?

>6. Astro City

good man

Any news on when rumble is expected to start up again?

Mignolaverse stuff
Headlopper

I've been enjoying New Super-man and RHATO for Rebirth books not on your list. Green Lanterns is decent as well, especially once the first arc finished.

>Green Lanterns is decent as well

I picked up the 2 issue arc with Batman and Scarecrow but I just can't get over Simon's stupid mask. Might pick up the Red Hood trade once it gets released

Yeah they really need to do something about the kick-ass/skimask thing he's got going on, he's a perfectly decent character and I don't mind him being around but god damn does he look silly.

The walking dead
