John K really has talent on designing hot ass babes.

Too bad he's existing in a PC culture where he would be viewed as reinforcing patriarchal beauty standards.

I didn't watch it because I heard it was terrible.

No because I masturbated to that scene first time I saw it

look it him. would YOU want him touching your naked body? John K is a cunt for refusing to use hot men instead of disgusting self parodies that barely hide is insecurity

MaryJane you hoe!

You mean too bad he's a hack that can't actually produce anything, just make designs and then complain about how everyone that's actually in the industry is doing it wrong.

Is it bad BECAUSE of the adult content?

Mad? Not really. "Adult Party Cartoon" did not ruin or erase the original series, it merely demonstrated that some people need a short leash attached to their work.

No, it is bad because it is nowhere near as creative and funny as the original series. The adult-oriented content is a symptom of the larger disease - that is, John K needing people to keep him on a leash because he shows such little restraint.

On the flip side, look at the new "Samurai Jack" episodes - Genndy got a looser leash from [adult swim], yet he decided to restrain himself from going all "Superjail" or "Aqua Teen" with the revival. He knew the revival would not have worked if it had gone full TV-MA.

Scene like that weren't inherently wrong, just terribly written. There was barely any comedy going on at all in this "adult" series of cartoons from John K. If anything, he seems to have a weird, misguided notion on what adult cartoons should be over "children" cartoons.

He seems to think adults only want extremely perverted crap, such as that sawing Stimpy in the ass scene, or extremely violent crap, such as that one episode of Ren going to town on that bug. He doesn't know how to write for adults, that's really damn clear.

No, adult content is fine. But coming from his previous work to THIS, it's obvious he has no clue how to write for adults. Look at Archer. Or Rick and Morty. Those have really good scenes written with adult content used all the time. I couldn't stop cracking up on the episode where Morty fucked that sexbot.

John K is an "Extreme" cartoonist. What I mean is, he only knows how to push things to an extreme:His writing, his animations, his style. For his original work, that worked perfectly. When asked to return for an adult variation of the show, the guy just kept pushing harder with no one checking in on him. The klutz.

Bottom line: The guy works better when he's put in check constantly due to him always wanting to push things further than it really should.

>When asked to return for an adult variation of the show, the guy just kept pushing harder with no one checking in on him.

And to make matters worse, he did it so lazily. "Adult Party Cartoon" did not even try to make tasteful-yet-hilarious "Ren and Stimpy are a gay couple" jokes; he literally had them play "pitcher and catcher" in one episode. He could probably have done a quality adult-themed revival if he had been smarter about it. But John K being who he is...yeah...

The guy is still a popular name in many areas. The way I see it? The people that worked with him or hired him probably thought he could do no wrong, that Nickelodeon was holding him back from true potential, and allowed him to go buck wild on the series. What a mistake.

I know the guy obsesses over his John Liquor characters, and reading those comics and the junk he's done with them on his blog, that kind of work would have been PERFECT for a revival series mixed in with Ren & Stimpy. So long as someone held his hand, that is. I swear the guy has no forethought in his work.

>I swear the guy has no forethought in his work.

No, he does. But it amounts to this: "What can I draw to piss off the special snowflakes?"

iirc Katie Rice designed the girls in OP's pic

John K has talent on something.

Sup Forums it's triggered by anything that isn't aimed at children. It was good fanservice.

To me it seems that he likes to be an extreme contrarian out of the repulsiveness he feels against executives. Putting his feelings first instead of making his work properly has really damaged his career.

>the chicks where hot so that makes the terrible writing okay
This right here is the mindset that's killing anime.

>John K
>talent in anything

his blog is very informative and you can learn a lot how to draw etc
too bad he doesn't follow his own advices

I don't know. I feel those pictures are very dynamic for being stills.

Whatever happened with that Kickstarted short he was gonna do?

It's weird, since in his blogs he loves to draw miley with a tiny face and a fat head

Last time I heard about it was when it was scheduled for Annecy 2016 but it was cancelled at the last minute.

No.
Asses are objectively superior.

>There was barely any comedy going on at all in this "adult" series of cartoons from John K.

This, I don't think anyone cares about tits and ass being in a cartoon, but this shit lacked any substance. The appeal was sex and shock factor if you grew up with the original series, but I can watch porn on the internet for free and laugh almost exactly as hard.

what about john k peta?

Why does John K fall apart when nobody is tugging on his leash but Justin Roiland's solo crazy shit is fine?

because justin knows when to hold HIMSELF back.

>because justin knows when to hold HIMSELF back.

>john k peta
Anatomy doesn't work like that

>The way I see it?
Did you just imply a question no one asked, or even cares about?
Fuck, I don't know why this pissed me off so much.
You use more punctuation than the average user on this site correctly, but when you make sentence fragments into single statements, I can see you thought processes and I want to punch your brain.

my childhood is ruined.. :'(

> being this autistic

Slightly better understanding of anatomy than John K

His over-the-topness works better in shorter pieces, like the Simpsons couch gag:

He actually made me go into medicine

Thing is Justin quit with his edgelord cartoons.
He loved shocking live audiences but because Rick and Morty airs on TV he can't get the same effect. He had fun being edgy but now he wants to make quality content that is more accessible to the average viewer.

This looks awful

Kinda reminds me of that cat artist who developed schizophrenia and his drawing were going full abstract over time

respect for the English language is fucking retarded

I was only mad because it wasn't funny. I'm all for cartoon tits and gay jokes if they're funny or hot. This was neither.

This.

APC was a mistake.

Fuck that guy knew how to draw aexy bitches

>in 2012, he funded through Kickstarter a cartoon short entitled "Cans Without Labels" starring the character George Liquor, with the initial delivery date of February 2013. The cartoon was due to be screened at the 2016 Annecy International Animated Film Festival for the first time, however at the last minute it was announced that it wasn't ready.

I like fanservice. But I don't like to feel like the writer thinks I'm a toddler.

Also, why are Ren and Stimpy so happy about it when there's so damn many gay jokes prior to it?

He draws Grade-AAA women desu.

Had a few good jokes in that episode desu but what do I know.

>Nearly five years for a seven-minute short
>Still incomplete

Holy shit say whatever the fuck he wants about CalArts but at least those students pump out a completed film nearly every fucking semester.

My nigga

It sucked because it was too gross and degenerate, especially when Ren made out with that hairy life guard guy. I don't know how someone can find APC funny

There's no excuse for either taking years on a seven minute short, but there's also no excuse for shitting out sub-par Cal Arts animation.

Why would I be mad?

You never talked to a gay person? Because they love tits as much as anyone else.

Horseshit.

The frog episode is kino. I don't care what you guys say.

this is not correct.

>I feel those pictures are very dynamic for being stills.
Dynamically wonky, yes.

>There's no excuse for either taking years on a seven minute short, but there's also no excuse for shitting out sub-par Cal Arts animation.
Students just starting out on the industry vs a man with a resume spanning nearly 40 years at this point in time.

this, but unironically

you are a fucking sperglord

his art got worse and worse per years

>Students just starting out on the industry vs a man with a resume spanning nearly 40 years at this point in time.
I'm saying neither is desirable. Students don't need to churn out shit. They can produce slightly less content if they work harder on the content they are producing. Things like nu-PPG are inexcusable.

Students shorts != TV show
