Biblical stories used to be a staple of Hollywood so if you're willing to go 1950s and earlier theres plenty to choose from.
>Ten Commandments
>Greatest Story
>David and Goliath
>Barabas
>Solomon and Bathseba (albeit having very little to do with the actual Biblical story)
I think there's at least one about Samson too.

The Left Behind Series or Megiddo, maybe

The Left Behind films are unbiblical heretical trash, but... somehow they are still pretty comfy. Especially the recent one with Nick Cage.

But, aside from that, I'm struggling to think of any. Maybe just search YouTube for 'End Times Watch [Year]'. It's usually pretty interesting what a year looks like condensed down into an hour or so of dramatic footage.

Strangely enough I don't think there are any adaptations of Revelation. Plenty of movies take inspiration from it of course, but a straight adaptation? None that I can think of.

He sure is. Pulled my behind out of the fire, generally because of my own idiocy, plenty of times.

Perhaps no one has felt they could do it justice, or they simply struggle to put together a narrative that works for a two-hour film? It's a short book but it's got a lot of material.

imagine being this dumb

the film adaption of Faust. not a story from the Bible exactly, but a good Bible - inspired film.
I would love a direct adaption of Revelations, it would be disturbing as fuck.

>the Bible is made up!

thanks my fellas
God bless

There should be a "Book of Enoch" film adaptation. The entire book had me going "WEW LAD".

Praise be to the most high!

Robocop is full of Messianic imagery. Does that count?

You know there isn't.

Someone should do this. Someone read that to me and I was absolutely horrified by it.

Maybe they were worried about getting it wrong and offending the Lord.

Hey, are the Devil, Lucifer, and Satan the same person? In any case, is therealso a list somewhere of all the named angels and their functions?

The devil and Satan are both the same beings while Lucifer can refer to either him or Jesus. Aside from Gabriel and Michael the other angels are either unnamed or fallen. They serve as messengers.

Here's a good series of lectures on the angels and the various beliefs surrounding them if you're looking for more depth.

I was about to say Megiddo: The Omega Code 2. It stars Michael York and the writers actually try to apply the Book of Revelation to our geopolitical and economic order. It has it's goofy moments but there's no way around that.

>while Lucifer can refer to either him or Jesus

Deal with it, proddy.

This is a funny meme but you atheists don't want to get to comfortable posting it or you'll turn it into the new fedora : (

ITT plebs

The word lucifer can, the name Lucifer refers to the King of Babylon, mockingly.

And I'm no proddy son.

>The word lucifer can, the name Lucifer

Yeah that distinction makes sense

I want a good, modern adaptation of the life of David. No cooky shit, no rock monsters, just an honest, faithful to the story movie about David.

My hope is that we will begin to see more straight, faithful biblical movies if the sequel to the Passion of the Christ does well. My only fear is that the Spielberg movie about the Mortara Case will do well and rekindle anti-clerical hatred.

you will find no actual answer on this

the bible never calls lucifer satan and vice versa

it has been theorized that Satan is Lucifer, or perhaps a prosecuting angel of metaphor/not metaphor, or perhaps even a (something) at the time that can lead one to sin like a mafioso, or even a porn magazine etc.

I forgot the arguments for why Lucifer is likely satan, but some arguments against are, among others, the fact they are never called the same in the bible, satan appearing in God's presence in Job

most of our common cultural understanding of Satan comes from John Milton's paradise lost desu, perhaps with some Prometheus thrown in

while you are here, do you know why Catholics trust the apocrypha and protestants do not? I've heard its in general tone differences, but honestly I don't know Aramaic/Greek/Hebrew/latin so that argument is hard to comprehend for me.

Are there reasons to support the apocrypha outside of this?

Not him, but rather .

I assume you mean the duterocanonical books? Those called the apocrypha by the protestants but aren't the same as our apocryphal books. If so the reason that Catholics trust the deuterocanonical books is pretty simple actually, they were settled on in the Council of Rome in 382 and were believed to be genuine by the vast majority of those present in the council because they appear divinely inspired and were included in the Septuagint. They were called the apocryphal by Luther who diminished certain books on a personal preference, who it is worth noting modified James and Romans to fit his theories and tried to have Revelations also included into the apocrypha. There is no good argument for taking them out that doesn't extend to other books in the Old and New testament that the protestants accept.

And the bible, being a collection of separately authored books, changes tone quite regularly.

>cringe

There is a vidya kino.

no
characters included in the OT are not necessarily all the same figure, depending on name and context in their immediate narrative, including the snake
it's the NT that focuses more on one person, including the sick obscure references to the OT to try to tie it all together

Supernatural tackles the apocalypse and the four horsemen and angels and demons but it's not a direct adaptation

Evangelion.

Lucifer was the Devil/Satan before the fall. Lucifer was regarded as the "morning star" but he was refered to as Satan meaning "the adversary" after he fell from heaven. Many people don't know this but it should be noted that before Lucifer fell, there was already evil beginning to take shape in some rebellious angels. These were refered to as "The Watchers" in the Book of Enoch. These angels came down (about 200 in total) and choose women of their liking and procreated with them. This created the famous giants or Nephilim as we know today. These fallen angels defiled God's creation even further by teaching them the secret arts of astronomy, war, sorcery, and cosmetics, etc. God was so enraged by their transgression that he has them imprisoned on Earth and they all will be cast into the lake of fire without judgement. As for God's army, he has 7 high ranking arch-angels and some of these include Michael, Uriel, Raphael and Gabriel. He also has thousands of other angels at his disposal as warriors for the war in heaven.

The Book of Enoch is a good place to know about these angels and their functions. I'm going to let you in on a little secret, though. Not only do these good angels really exist if you call on them when you're in trouble but in really remote places of the earth, people have also brushed sides with the fallen ones. There was a case where a woman was in a national forest and she entered a firmament where a governing principality (fallen angel) was trying to seduce her into devouring her. It had all of the marks of a fallen angel; it tried to deceive her by presenting itself as beauty, she was pulled in by the intrigue, it came from the stars, shifted its form many times and it had a very dark, demonic presence to it.

More on the story user

The Ninth Gate. 7/10 pretty good

>you call on them when you're in trouble

what kind of trouble?

It was on C2C. A woman by the name of Gina called in with her experience of a demonic force trying to consume her. She didn't say it was a fallen angel but I'm definitely sure it was one. It displayed all the signs of a strong principality. It's in this video: youtu.be/GB1qSjjkGqo

Any time you feel you may be in danger. Angels seem to help people when you neelp it. You can also call out to Jesus Christ for help as well. My mother called on Jesus twice. Once after having a complication when my brother was born. She said he extended his hand to her and it was so beautiful. Another time she had sleep paralysis but felt a heavy dark spirit on her and called on Christ again. The bad experience immediately stopped and Christ gave her the sign of benediction. I remember her telling me the first story years ago and I didnt believe it. But after I sought after the truth, I believe her 100%.

Am I the only one that didn't like this movie?

What differentiates demonic vs fallen angelic signs?

>C2C
what is dat?

Never mind, I'm stupid but I realised it after clicking the viddie link.I thought it might be to do with the Paulides cases anyhow though. Thanks for the info.

Most demons tend to be simple foot soldiers with the ability to influence or progressively harm people through sin.

Fallen Angels, like the one in the story up above, are very powerful. They are able to rule over mountains, forests, deserts, etc. They are also able to physically manifest and have control over weather. They basically wield an incredible amount of power and this is why they're subject to only living in rural areas. In the Book of Enoch it says that God banished them to the crevices and valleys of the Earth so they may be away from humanity. But most people are in the dark about the true nature of our world and so walk into these gorgeous places with ignorance about the principalities. If you ever go to a remote area, never go alone and always be on alert for anything strange that may occur. If you suddenly feel sick or see strange things, pray to Christ to rebuke the evil.

Yes. Mr Paulides' work will really open the lid on what's going on. There's literally a spiritual war going on in the world and most people are unaware of it. I mean, as Sup Forums anons, just look at Hollywood. All the degeneracy, satanism, sacrifices, etc. It's all there but only for those with eyes to see the truth.

>mfw i hike when i feel depressed

Kill yourself heathen

Yes they are all the planet Venus.

more recently there is the passion of Christ and Exodus: Gods and Kings, which are both kino.

>but a straight adaptation
how is there going to be a straight adaptation of a prophecy that has yet to come?
Have you ever even read the book or revelations? it talks in riddles and codes, it is the rambling of a madman, a schitzo. He talks about lions and lamb over and over.

I haven't got an adequate wojack to signify your level of retardation

You should be scared, user. These beings have an intense amount of hatred towards mankind. They already know they will be cast into the lake of fire, so they'll go all out when they devour someone spiritually. Look into Henry McCabe's voice message. He was tortured by these beings horribly. When they found his body, they found no trama but that's the thing. These beings tear apart your soul and destroy your spiritually.

NEVER hike alone, if you're going to hike. Always pray for protection before and during your hike. Thank the lord afterwards just as a token of your appreciation. Please don't tread lightly on this matter. It's for your very soul.

>which are both kino

>considering Revelation to be canon

Literally fanfic tier

Leave

Me and my friends used to go on mountain camping a lot. Indeed there were so many occasions where something supernatural was happening. Nothing on serious level thankfully, felt more like a prank, done by supernatural beings.

OP
I recommend
>The Medusa Touch
>Signs

imagine if at the end of exorcist when pazuzu is driven out instead of taunting karras as his mother he just said IT WAS JUST A PRANK BRO CHILL

Spill what happened

Let's take dis outside, bro.

Don't take this retard seriously. If there is any concentrated evil, it's in the cities. Man wasn't meant to live like an automaton in modern Western hellholes.

depends on context. their all metaphorical concepts which were pushed together due to monotheism.

Lucifer was roughly analogous to Prometheus, fire being representative of free will or "knowledge of good and evil" if you like.

Satan is analogous to Saturn, a great destroyer, other names predating Christianity are Cybele, Baal, Moloch, Ishtar ect.

Tolkien tries to make this allegorical distinction with Sauron and Morgoth. Sauron bringing many crafts and industries that when used by humans actually increase their level of development but also tie them to the technology.
fun fact the word cybernetics which is derived from Cybele's name means "to steer", with that in mind now think about the impact of what something like social media data mining by intelligence agencies (particularly by the aptly named company, Palantir owned by Peter Thiel who is a member of facebooks board) and AI registering a score of everything you say would mean)
