Will Aquaman and Mera attract normalfags like Joker and Harley did?

Will Aquaman and Mera attract normalfags like Joker and Harley did?

I've never been in a relationship, but I fucking hope so, just to shut up all the Aquaman haters.

I hope they don't end up ruined like the Joker and Harley were though.

Probably not. Don't even hate the characters, I just know how normalfags are.

Not Hot Topic enough, they won't.

No. Aquaman will never break that threshold the Super Friends has on him, no matter what they do with him.

Look, I want to have a good DC movie. I don't care about company wars bullshit, but this trailer just doesn't get me hyped. Snyder doesn't seem to have learned his lesson from the previous movie with the overuse of CGI, religious symbolism and the bleak scenery of grey and dark blue.

Yeah, I'm afraid that any attempt at portraying Aquaman as a badass will just come across as trying too hard.

Considering his only power is attracting fish, I find it highly unlikely

There's nothing interesting enough about either of them for that.

Harley fangirls are plenty fishy

Normies seem to have reacted positively to Aquaman in the trailers, surprisingly enough, so their opinions might change on him after JL. The problem is, he might barely act like Aquaman and be more of a dudebro than traditional Arthur Curry. Like a 90's Aquaman that downs whiskey and slaps fives with the other members of the JL.

A lot of the general public (normies) still see Aquaman as a joke character. The comics make it a point that he in fact communicates to sea life with suggestive brain waves - correct me if I'm wrong. DC is starting to reinforce his role as a legitimate power. For fucks sake, in Aquaman Rebirth he stood up to Superman.

However, many people still think that Aquaman talks to fish, Aquaman is a weirdo, Aquaman is lonely, Aquaman is awkward etc.

Unless the movie depicts him as a badass, I doubt he'd be taken as seriously as some of the big boys like Batman or Superman.

Not fucked up and "muh crazy" enough for normalfags. They like Harley and Joker because it's just plain fucking nuts. I can understand enjoying the dynamic of mad love storywise, but jesus christ, I've seen people walking around who say they're "looking for their harley/joker" and fuck man that's just creepy.

I wish that anyone who doesn't have faith in the DCEU would just DIE.

probably not, most people are already laughing at him and calling him the worst thing about that awful trailer

I kind of hope he's as friendly as Batman: Brave and the Bold Aquaman, but I know it's kind of a longshot with DC.

I'm really bad at predicting normie behavior. I was SURE even them would be rolling their eyes at the 2008 Facebook meme-tier joke about Batman's superpower being money in this 250 million dollar movie.

But then I checked Twitter and it was an endless stream of gifs of that scene.

>The problem is, he might barely act like Aquaman

Pray tell, how does Aquaman is meant to act, across the board? And why would it even matter? Tony Stark wasn't a wisecracking smartass until RDJ made him into one.

>acts like a gruff badass in the trailer
>steals a bottle of whiskey from that bar
Fat chance.

Never underestimate normies, my friend.

>steals a bottle of whiskey from that bar

A bottle of Jackie D seems like reasonable price for saving your life. If the guy who almost drowned won't pay for it, that guy is a dick.

You seriously think that's nice kind of dickish?

>Hey, I saved your life, so buy this bottle of whiskey for me.

that's funny, because most people wish DC would just die

I'd buy a guy a bottle of whiskey out of gratitude.

>cropping the person behind the tweet

Bruh.

>Pray tell, how does Aquaman is meant to act, across the board?
Badass, fierce towards his enemies, but also genuinely nice and friendly to normal people. He's also fairly straight-laced.

>And why would it even matter? Tony Stark wasn't a wisecracking smartass until RDJ made him into one.
Except for when he was, just not really in the RDJ way.

>twitter
Ugh, like, could you not?

>just not really in the RDJ way.
exactly

>cropping out your tweets

But forcing someone to do it is a dick move.

>most people

Do you ever actually socialise with just regular human beans?

>most people
>posts his own tweet in every thread
Sad!

You're full of shit. Most people in the comments on YouTube love the fact that Aquaman acts like an aquatic barbarian. Some even go "Man, didnt think Aquaman would be the coolest one here". If anything, more people dislike Cyborg because he looks like ass.

Not as long as they don't change is look in the comic. Normies think it's too dorky.

Good one, OP
