I had 3D glasses for this.

Were they worth it?

I loved this show when I was little. My dad thought you needed 3D glasses for it.

Only for a brief action sequence in every episode, and even then, it didn't add much.

No. The "3D" effect was just stuff moving in the foreground.

What show is this from?

Yeah, if only there was a button that could tell you the source of an image.

The Bots Master.

Is it just me, or did this show have the worst case of redundant characters ever? I assume this was just done to try to sell more toys? Were there even toys?

>s it just me, or did this show have the worst case of redundant characters ever? I assume this was just done to try to sell more toys? Were there even toys?

It's not just you.
Yes.
Yes. That's the best way to get the glasses.

Everything about this show was so fuckin' 90's. Ziv "Z.Z." Zulander was the main character. The bad guys were an evil corporation.

>Were there even toys?
For a show actively peddling a product in order to engage an experience? Nooooo.

Catchy as fuck theme song

Sorry, I only ask because they never got the toys in my area. YTV claimed that we could get the glasses at Safeway, but I never saw them there, either.

My name is Ninjzz
The one who injzz
And how I use my zzword
And how it zzinjzz.

this
i remember literally nothing about the show except the song and the lazer time

"Ziv Zulander, ZZ for short"

I think the first time I ever saw the toys themselves was lingering around a KB Toys in like... 1997 or something.

>mfw the fucking music never fucking stops
Seriously, finding two seconds of silence in your average Bots Master episode is like water in the desert.
Mega hot bad girl, though.

cute, would fug/10

It helped that every sentence she spoke was with the tone of someone who needed DICK.

Just looked up a scene with her...

... Yup

God, I miss the time when the main antagonist was a hot as fuck bombshell, or at least had a bombshell lieutenant. Wonder why they stopped with that. I'm guessing soccer moms because it was before feminism going full retard.

Wasn't there /ss/ stuff between her and the MC?

"The battle hinges" on how he uses his sword.

Oh God yeah. Looking back she really was hyper-sexualised.

>That episode where the botz abduct her as a gift to Ziv on his birthday

You know, in retrospect, a lot of my fetishes can be traced back to saturday morning cartoons.

Hell yeah!

My favourite episode was LIVE-ACTION MOVIES TURNED CARTOONS OF THE 90S, 2000S, & TODAY

>It's a Chris Gets Angry at the Internet episode

Ziv Zulander was at least 18 in the show, so it's not really /ss/, is it?

youtube.com/watch?v=LLKYOSiW7U4

That long rap

Didn't this end on a cliffhanger?

Classic hope for a season renewal tactic. Doesn't always work.

Im found of the filthy christmas songs episode.
Its next to unlistenable most of the time though because of henry gilbert and

>It's a Henry makes everyone uncomfortable by being a turbo-autist episode

yeah so did that Battletech show with the cgi bits, Skellington Warriors ended properly though

STROKE-A MY

Forgot about that "RE-RE-RE" sound

This show was awesome.

Those grunt bots had that cool computer voice too

What's that show actually about? I heard it mentioned on retronauts a few times but anything associated with that probably isn't to my taste.

Fuck if I know.

Having everything need a Z made it confusing.

It's just a pop-culture/entertainment show that deals with a topic each week. It can be stuff like "Worldwide Hits that America Hates", "SNL Movies", "Summertime Soundtracks", etc.

It's commonly Sup Forums-related too

It's a podcast where they discuss certain pop culture topics, ranging from the well known to the obscure. The host Chris is an animation fanatic and will also sometimes center episodes around animation.

Fun Fact: Chris had a framed animation cell from Coonskin that was mysteriously knocked off the wall by what he believes was a disgruntled roommate.

I remember the combiner in no way earning a name as cool as it had.

Chris getting mad at the internet is always funny because he does his broad Chris fake-yelling voice

There must have been at least three different episodes involving brainwashing. Thank you, France.

Arguably THE most 90s cartoon of all time, after "Daria".

Just make sure Michael Bay doesn't learn about it.

France does seem to like Fetish Fuel. I'm looking at you, "Passion Patties".

I'd like to think Mighty Max was more condensed 90s. Its soundtrack was nothing but lengthy guitar-solos and it had a badguy called "Cyberskull"

youtube.com/watch?v=KzXfKRMUr9U

Botsmaster was dope too but it was just a little bit before my time. I only caught it on tv once.

Max was also really fucking quippy. That kid did not show how to shut the fuck up

Nothing like the sweet dulcet tones of Janyse Jaud sounding like she's having an orgasm every three words.
Also, her design was anime as fuck.

This is probably blind nostalgia talking but I didn't have a real problem with Max being as snarky as he is. I mean he was going up against otherworldly horrors, ancient evils and mutated crimes against nature and (for the most part) still managed to be useful and not just a avatar for the viewer.

The villains were the real stars of that show. I wish someone would do a semi-serious reboot/sequel and really jack up the horror. Imagine the kind of stuff they could pull with no network standards to adhere to. I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat.

Only episode I remember was the one ironically modeled after 80s' "The Thing" (arctic base is attacked by mimics).

Good ol' Microsoft Sam. I remember back when BotsMaster was airing, and my friend had just got a computer with a SoundBlaster card, and his dad installed a program called Dr. Sabateso (probably spelled wrong) that was a 'digital psychiatrist' that would speak out what it said to you in that voice. I kept asking it to say things like 'Yes, Dr. Hiss.'

"Normans Conquest" and "Snakes and Ladies" were two episodes that really stuck with me. The former was basically a slasher film with a psychotic viking chasing Max and co across the country. That episode didn't pull any punches

>"When I get my hands on you I'll tear you limb from limb"
>"I'll come back and find you, and then I'll kill you and eat your heart"

Shit was dark.

This is my favourite Laser Time episode.
CLASSIC Sup Forums CONTENT

lasertimepodcast.com/2015/01/27/laser-time-the-best-animated-films-based-on-tv-cartoons/

forget link lol

Man, the show ended with fucking everyone dying in a straight-up apocalypse, I dunno how much more you could "jack up the horror" from that and still get away with calling it a kids' show

>No Passion Patties sized Lady Frenzy

This is an interesting concept.

Let's see if I can't still green text a fake episode plotline

>ZZ has the idea of throwing a wrench into LLP's plans: without his right hand of Lady Frenzy, things would be much more managable with only the more hairbrained Dr Hiss as the main focus of the corp. But ZZ, being who he is, doesn't want to HURT her, just out of the picture.
>Plan is hatched: With an addiction to food, Frenzy'd too busy snacking to focus on her actual job, and LLP would likely send her on extended leave to get back into shape.
>Goes off without a hitch, as Frenzy soon gives in to a hedonistic and gluttonous life style.
>Meanwhile, Cook isn't feeling appreciated by the the resident humans, and decides to run away from home. This results in his capture by Lady Frenzy, whose elation of having one of Zulander's Thinking Botz is quickly replaced by having the best culinary robot available.
>ZZ and the Boyzz have to search for the missing bot, and discover him now in Lady Frenzy's personal employ. Cook proclaims that he's happier working for her-- at least SHE appreciates him
>Frenzy- who has ballooned up to even further extremes, decides to launch into an attack at ZZ for trying to take Cook from her. LASER TIME ensues. Apologies are made. Conflicts are resolved.
>Episode ends with Cook at home, over-zealously making food for our heroes- who sheepishly say they do appreiciate Cook, but hope he doesn't make them all blow up like Frenzy
>Episode ends on the massive Lady Frenzy trying (futilely) to work off the weight, even the lightest and leg warmer wearing aerobics making her groan and strain.

I like Chris but every time he gets mad at the internet or, god help me, goes off on ANOTHER rant about the fucking Ghostbusters reboot it causes me physical pain.

Henry is absolute shit in anything he's in though and has no redeeming qualities. Hrs also a huge Marvelfag and loves Kamala and Squirrel Girl, if you didn't have enough reason to hate him. I hoped when he moved away the nightmare would be over but somehow he manages to fuck the show up even today.

The guys from Laser Time are good friends with the guy who hosts Retronauts so they share cast members. Laser Time is about pop culture in general while Retronauts is just about video games. Retronauts has a bad habit of being very preachy and shilling for the game industry while Laser Time tends to be a lot more down to earth. Also Jeremy Parish isn't on Laser Time so that's a giant chunk of pretension that they don't have to deal with.

Wow...I swear I'm the only guy who ever submitted the correct lyrics to those angelfire sites back in the day...

My name is Ninjzz
The battle hinges
on how I use my sword
and what it singes

That was just for their names. They were Zigalotopic Zoids (named thus because the creator's initials were ZZ, so he made up some shit to justify it) so ZZ was in most of their names.

i think it's pretty funny when Henry gets obsessed about whatever like mario, it's fun

Nice green text!!

Man, that episode in which Max gathers a bunch of mythic heroes in retirement for bring the fight to the Skullmaster. Among them was Beowulf who at one point in the episode gets locked in a bare fist melee with the Skullmonster's lieutenant.
Then out camera he says "I am going to teach you a trick that I did learn from a friend. He was named Grendel!" followed by a wet shredding noise.

Aww that's metal as fuck. It's been too long since I rewatched that show. I wish the rights weren't in limbo iirc, it deserves an HD release.

Same problem as Captain Simian, I see.

Fat Lady Frenzy.....we need moar of this.

I remember having the baseball bot and the typical enemy drone bot as a kid

I liked that even the "lame" characters got to participate in the rap (The Doc, Genesis, D'Nerd, and The Cook).

I also salute the fact it had so many "not cool" robots in its cast.

>spelling D'Nerd right
>missing the obvious pun in Genesix

My point still stands.

For a "90s! Cool-Extreme" show, it did show the Un-Cool robots.

Captcha: ask me about street signs FIVE times one after another.

That was the only reason I ever watched the show. If she wasn't in an episode. I turned it off. When she was in. Oh dear lord. Hnnnngh.

When I heard her actress was in the InuYasha dub I had to watch it. Boner all over again. Damn that woman's voice is just so damn sultry.

> in InuYasha or Monster Hunter she got her game on and it turned out she can sound like she's having an orgasm in two words or less now.

She did a couple of loungy jazz songs a few years ago and they were fantastic. Apparently she's also in the Wolverine Vs movies as Lady Deathstrike and (I think) Hela, but I haven't seen those yet.
But yeah, holy shit, Janyse Jaud. Mmmman.

It was a stable of the Birdhouse cartoon stream, the same place the 60's spiderman meme originated.
One guy even drew porn of Lady Frenzy as a result of watching it.

Yes, I can confirm she voiced both Hela and Deathstrike and learned to somehow orgasm very loudly when stabbing someone.

......

I need to go watch that movie again I also heard her jazz songs. The woman was time displaced from the 20s and 30s. She's like some present day femme fatale from that era.

The best of times.

Excellent.

>Sexy voice
>Dresses like a future hooker
>And evil as fuck
Sheer perfection

Don't forget
>Giant tits
>Legs for days
What a total package.

>look this up
>looks like every other generic mid to early 90's sci-fi show

fucking yawn

It's French. Also the director's name is Xavier Picard.

My god those are some ballistics right there.

that is the most GOAT name I have ever heard

If only google images wasn't shit

Holy hell both of these statements are true.

>Constant obnoxious music
>DTF bad girl

It NEVER fucking stops. The only thing worse than the music is every second this unholy abomination from the pits of Tartarus opens its hellish mouth.

Th name of the show and characters were the first results, you idiot.

I started watching an episode and within minutes, the main dude refused to blow up a factory because the evil hot bitch is standing too close and he doesn't want to hurt her
His little spunky sister is pissed off so we'll see how this goes

>you will never have a radical 80's waifu

We know not what we have lost.

>radical 80's waifu
I want one

within minutes of this happening the dude gets a phone call from some other random hot stacked chick who wants to go to france with him, how is he such a player lol
also you guys weren't wrong about the music, it literally never stops

>You know, in retrospect, a lot of my fetishes can be traced back to saturday morning cartoons.
I tell you the exact cartoon and the moment it happened with me.

Wait this was a French cartoon?!
Aalso check em

My god I can still hear that god damn laugh
Now I k ow how that little village felt with the Naga clones

well finished the episode, the cartoon still holds up for what it is IMO

I know what I felt.

please make it stop please make it stop please please please make it stop please make it stop please make it stop please please please make it stop please make it stop please make it stop please please please

oh god this thing just showed up in the episode i'm watching now, I had forgotten this laugh, i don't think I will ever forget it again

Man I really wish we had more art of either Lady Frenzy and Blitzy

but that's the problem with shows before the internet rare good fanart

yeah i found like 5 pictures of Blizty on deviantart. two are just photoshopping her head onto Alice in Wonderland for some reason... the others are all awful

this one doesn't even look like her
