>60 billion
Sure dude.
Aren't you supposed to have some anti-trust laws?
Capeshit is back in the menu. 100000 more yrs of capeshit
so... hugh jackson coming back as wolverine to work for the mouse in avengers i believe
Fucking hell I love MArvel, fuck DC
only anti-goyim laws
If Disney ends buying Fox for real down the line... It's gonna be horrible. There's already like 20 capeshit from Marvel movies in 9 years, how much more will they pump out if they have the xmen... Add to that we will never see movies that are actually good like Logan ever again, the Mouse will never do a movie like that.
Fox is already pumping out three Xmen films this year, it's not like Disney would be increasing that number.
>no source
>$60 billion
>implying such merger would be legal
Your capeshit is still shit and that's why it doesn't win oscars
>Your capeshit is still shit and that's why it doesn't win oscars.
just degrade oscars's quality a little bit more and make political speeches meril streep style and it will make the trick.
>Secter Wars
>Onslaught
>Civil War 2
DC in suicide watch
>implying such merger would be legal
Why wouldn't it?
I will make it legal.
How long until the Capeshit industry crashes? It seems like we're endlessly repeating the 90s without moving past and Capeshit fatigue is already setting in.
The senate will decide your fate.
Nice source faggot

UNLIMITED CAPESHIT
This is the way our cyberpunk future begins.
>Disney controls all media, from news to movies to porn.
>Apple handles all tech. From house appliances to buildings and brigdges to prosthetic arms.
>GoogleFacebook own most of the internet
>Nestle handles all foods, from chocolate to the meat you buy at the supermarket.
>Toyoyta-Volkswagen handles all transportation. Cars, planes, trains.
Too big for its field of business.
Because of anti trust laws
looking good
Do you even AOL Time Warner?
>yfw Google acquires Disney
It's legal, it would just have to be approved by the government. Apparently Fox News will benefit from it because it will remain separate but get more money, so Trump will be more than happy to approve the merger.
AOL wasn't a studio/distributor. Fox and Disney are both in the same business, it's pretty clear cut. Sorry friend, it's illegal
Good joke user.
The Murdochs are taking the top positions at Disney if the deal goes through, seems fair
>it's illegal
and it will still go through whether officially or unofficially.
Nothing gets in the way of the eternal shekel.
>mfw Disney literally NEEDS to pull the merger so their streaming shit saves them from the inevitable ESPN fallout
>mfw the merger is against the law
lmao
>People ITT are unironically cheering for Disney now owning the rights to Alien, Deadpool and Planet of the Apes
why?
>you will see the Fantastic Four and Doom in the MCU in your lifetime
Feels good man
60 Billion, some in cash some in Disney stocks, now Murdoch family will be the majority shareholders of the company.
Fox doesn't own the rights to the FF, only the distribution rights. Constantin owns the rights to MAKE an FF movie.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY
MORE MEN IN CAPES
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
So, before Aol took over Time Warner, TW did not take over TBS(New Line, WCW, TNT, CNN, pre-1986 MGM library and copyrights...), and the largest print media company, that also owned HBO did not merge with the largest film production and distribution studio, that also was a cable provider?
Secret Wars sounds good. Onslaught and Civil War 2 will be shit
>watching anything by Disney, WB or Sony
>too big
WB has LotR and Harry Potter, on top of DC. Along with other good properties
>This is the way our cyberpunk future begins.
Nah it will be Tencent a.k.a. People's Republic of China will own literally everything in the U.S.A.
>>implying such merger would be legal
Dismey would cntrol about 40% of media, so it is legal, also there is fierce competition in film studios (WB, Universal, Sony, etc...), and competition in TV and series, and Disney will now compete toe-to-toe with Netflix in their own streaming service.
there is no law on hollywood studios, it's not like it's a utility
there are laws on TV broadcasting, and disney is not taking the tv divisions from fox to begin with
fox is going to keep the tv stuff, sports stuff, and other assorted things. this deal will most likely pass, especially if the murdochs want it to because then the gop, which controls the executive branch, won't oppose it
They did but that didn't place them in a situation of control over the market. Fox/Disney would have over 40% of the market share in the movie production/distribution market. And that's against the law. Feel free to go to Russia if you don't like it though
>Secret Wars
>AvX
>Avengers Dissasembled
>House of M
Imagine actually getting excited for more mediocre kids movies
>there is no law on hollywood studios
there are general anti-trust laws against monopolies. You can have a monopoly even without taking over a bunch of other companies, see Microsoft in the 90s.
Also the Hollywood Studios had to sell off or close down all their cinemas in the 40s.
>Dismey would cntrol about 40% of media, so it is legal,
Literally not legal, a 40% of the market owned by one company is a one way ticket to theater chains being bullied to exclude competition and get preferential deals just because of the market share.
>mfw I'm trying to explain US law to some Indian disney shills
Boredom is a hell of a drug I guess
I have the same reaction gif but mine is different
Antitrust laws are stupid. If a corporation reaches the point where they come into play, it's because they WON. Everyone else should have tried harder.
99 more movies m-morty until we get that szechuan sauce
Yeah the first world and their fair laws right? Don't worry though Putin and China still like them monopolies
Best thing, the initial antritrust case against Standard Oil, just resulted in Rockefeller buying a majority stake in every single newly formed SO company.
>During summer Tencent acquired majority of Supercell studios (AKA Clash Royale)
>Certain words like Taiwan, BDSM, Socialist are banned
>Monthly updates and balances are no longer a thing, we get them like every 2-4 months now
>From a fun game to a "Give me money" and """""""e-sport""""""" status
I started hating our chinese overlords.
Define market.
Box Office Revenue? Tickets sold? Number of movies released? Homemedia revenue?
It's always really disturbing when you listen to people vehemently defend this company as it is today, especially your friends. The people who fanboy for post 2000 Disney remind me a whole lot of the Apple bitches from a few years ago. Man, everything that company did was awesome to those fucks. I feel like in 20 years Disney will own everything, and people will be like "Yeah, it was inevitable, plus I kinda like their movies." Fuck this.
The jew consumes all
Whatever the corporations involved do for a living measured in 2017 dollars you fucking faggot
>Number of movies released?
Are you mentally challenged?
Other studios are you even trying?
I'm a brainlet, please explain
>>Onslaught
>>Civil War 2
pls these no
>Disney made 200m less than WB with a third of the movies
wew
Disney owns the Us government. They are jews.
Go ahead and look up, the mickey mouse public domain and the US' changing the law of how IPs work.
yes selling the cinemas avoided the vertical monopoly
but disney/fox would argue due to the internet and digital making it easier for indies to distribute, that the merge is necessary to stay "competitive"
i know it's a bullshit argument because disney dominates but they can point to their ESPN bleeding out every month (which cable subs do make up 40% of their profit) as a counter-point
the real monopoly is unironically AT&T swallowing up WB, that is way worse for the industry and consumers long-term
Why buy Fox when you can have first Sony.
What is anti-trust?
"Competition law is a law that promotes or seeks to maintain market competition by regulating anti-competitive conduct by companies. Competition law is implemented through public and private enforcement. Competition law is known as anti-trust law in the United States, and as anti-monopoly law in China and Russia."

>ITS OKAY WHEN AOL DOES IT
Hareshiller pls
Sadly, a literally who german studio called Constantin owns F4 and Resident Evil.
Doom won't be returning to Marvel anytime soon.
Other than getting back Spider-Man completely, what would they pick up from Sony that's make the purchase worth it. The Bond rights? Maybe Ghostbusters merchandise if they're not already going through a separate company?
When a company gets too much of a market they can use their position to get an unfair treatment from suppliers or clients thus making impossible for other companies to enter or stay in that market and therefore winning even more power. Disney already does it, Tarantino complained that they forced theaters to kick his movie out to make room to more showings of some Star Wars/Marvel piece of shit that I'm sure you'll know better than me if you're a Sup Forums regular. With Fox market share on them, theaters would have to beg them for the priviledge of showing their movies, and this would result in even less diversity in the output and increased prices in both distribution (theaters getting cucked/shutting down) and tickets (you getting cucked). It would be a damn shame too because Disney is about to get destroyed by the ESPN bleeding (it's estimated that it's going to cost them over a billion and half dollar in yearly losses from 2020 onwards, that is, every year. You need to shit out a lot of Porg Christmas Adventures spin offs to make that kind of money back)
tl;dr the only people defending this shit are literal shills or really stupid underage anti-art capeshitters
They will buy Sony after their villain universe fails
Fox and Disney probably already had a sit down with Constantin about Fantastic Four
Besides they're not the ones who called the shots on previous films, Fox did.
So should I buy stock in disney or not?
It's sadly legal now. They cut down the law preventing it just weeks before this merger.
DOCTOR DOOM WHEN?
anti trust, monopoly
FUck. I hope New Regency goes to Paramount.
Disney will own it and will probably close it down to make room for more capeshit
No. You should have done it before 2010. It's too late now. They will peak soon.
Another one falls to the gluttonous appetite of the Mouse.
... Does this mean we are going to get Disney's The Simpsons?
Just so you know
These laws were made to stop big fishes. Microsoft, AT&T, Comcast, McDonalds, Apple, Google, Facebook, Walmart, etc.
Not literally who companies like Disney, Warner Bros, Fox, Sony.
Small fishes eating themselves isn't the reason why the law was made, so while these anons are correct. Don't expect the government to do anything about it.
Yet another accurate Simpsons prediction.
ALL I CARE ABOUT IS WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO AVATAR BECAUSE THAT WAS UNDER FOX
I don't know what you mean but it's literally impossible to be legal. Also Trump can't move that law because it would allow the AT&T and Time Warner merger to happen and that's what he wants to prevent more than anything in the world. He'll fail of course, having the Comcast/Universal case so recent
Disney isn't exactly a small fish anymore user. Company's grow. While they were not much at the time of this laws passing, they are certainly large enough now to constitute some looking into on this issue.
it's basically like agar.io
Literally nothing. Avatar will probably be the least affected property in this entire buyout considering Cameron's good terms with Disney and Avatar already fucking being at Disney World.
Disney Studios are worth $120 billion, the Warner Bros studio over $80 billion and so on. That's big enough to make it to the news so it's big enough for a law to be enforced. It won't happen kids, not now not ever
If anyone, it'll be Apple
the deal is already practically done, the guys that were buying warner bros got stopped in a week, this deal is being in the works for months, its over it already is a thing
>its over it already is a thing
Keep telling yourself that kiddo, your professor doom flick or whatever will come soon enough
screencapping this post, I will expect an apologize from you
When we can expect an announcement? Next week?
Thank the GODS for that fucking amazing film can't wait to see where the sequels take us and considering under Disney now it's going to be fucking amazing
deadline.com
Deadline is saying the announcement will come as early as Wednesday.
So we're talking about net income or their general revenue? Then DisneyFox will not even have close to a 40% market share!
>Are you mentally challenged?
Yes, just like you. Why else would we be on Sup Forums?
Disney will now own 100% of Star Wars. All the rights to everything except for Episode 4 was going to be turned over to Lucasfilm (now Disney). Fox was going to retain rights to the original Star Wars film forever.
Now the mouse will own it all.
Also I hope the 20th Century Fox fanfare does not go away. I want to see it return to the beginning of the Star Wars films.
Fantastic Four
Galactus
Silver Surfer
I can't wait.
>Civil War 2
People really fell for that meme and read that fucking obvious comic bait?
As there is only the Despecialised Edition worth watching nowadays the fanfare will stay.
